YOu download the maps via the web onto your pc using Nokia maploader, they are free. England was 91mb. straight to the micro sd card. The onbly bit you psy for is a licence to use voice navigation which cost me £5.40 for a month and already its as good as Tomtom on my N73. The next purchase will be a 3 year licence at £46!!! Not bad.

startup time is pretty similar to the N93 - about 25 secs. As for the maps, you download them but they're saved to your memory card. I hope they are, anyway, or I'm going to be spanked for data charges.

i'm confused about the downloading maps bit... can you not store them on your phone? do they have to download each time you want to go somewhere? and do you have to pay the monthly charge just to get the reading out directions thing or will you not get directions at all without paying!? man i thought the gps thing was amazing but seems like it's gonna be too expensive for me :-(

You don't download anything for the navigation, you pay for it, but there is nothing to download. Not a great review. Very uninformed. Shame.
