One of my biggest pet peeves with how Buffy ended was the 2nd last episode. It made no sense to make Buffy make out with Angel; it made her character look bad at the end.

Spike is just such an amazing character! Even when he was soulless he was still able to love, which is a pretty big thing since most vamps are disgusted at the idea of love. Spike and Buffy were meant to be - I hope there is loads of Spuffy in the upcoming season nine <3
Spike needed a chip. Angel needed a soul. Spike lost his chip. Angel lost his soul. Spike still fought by Buffy's side and even died for her. Angel only killed and tortured people close to Buffy. Compare Liam and William. One's a whoring drunkard, the other is a good man. In life Liam cared only for his sister, and William loved his mother. When they got turned, Angelus drained and killed his sister while Spike turned his mother to try and save her. After getting his soul back, Angel felt guilt. So did Spike. But Angel spent over a century doing NOTHING to help anyone. Spike wasted a few months before he finally helped Buffy in the war. So really, it's obvious who the better Man is too.

It should also be mentioned that Spike did a lot of helpful things before he was turned ... was even capable of falling in love with Buffy, and tirelessly protecting Dawn. Angelus wasn't capable of love. Spike EARNED his soul back through trials and suffering; Angelus was cursed with one and only then began his (unwilling) suffering.

god you can just see the love in buffy's eyes when she says the three words to spike and its so clear that he wants to believe it but knows if he accepts she wont leave...their love turned out so tragic :( cant they just be together

A lot of people debate whether Buffy meant it when she told Spike she loved him at the end of Chosen,but upon re-watching this compilation, I think the answer came at 8:22 .
One of my biggest pet peeves with how Buffy ended was the 2nd last episode. It made no sense to make Buffy make out with Angel; it made her character look bad at the end.

@agnesed i agree. plus whenever angel showed up in the random ways, i guess to do the "crossovers", his character was also very different. like he was sarcastic and more angelous instead of dark, tortured guy. it didn't make any sense to the plot why he planted one on her in the mist of battle, and it was sad that spike saw that.

Spike is just such an amazing character! Even when he was soulless he was still able to love, which is a pretty big thing since most vamps are disgusted at the idea of love. And he never denied his love for her, which is adorable - even though he was kind of freaked after he had the dream in which he realised he loves her, he never denied his love and didn't really try to hide it from anyone. Spike and Buffy were meant to be - I hope there is loads of Spuffy in the upcoming season nine <3

@thatDitte no, they ended buffy with season 7. That is why Spike went over to Angel. Buffy show was ended.

Spike needed a chip. Angel needed a soul. Spike lost his chip. Angel lost his soul. Spike still fought by Buffy's side and even died for her. Angel only killed and tortured people close to Buffy. Spike willingly got his soul for Buffy. Angel, instead of finding a way to PERMANENTLY bind his soul to himself so he could be with Buffy, did nothing of the sort. So really, it's obvious who the better vampire is.

@JumpingBeans480 ok first of all spike needed a soul to b a good person as well (have you forgotten the whole: spike nearly raped buffy!?) dont get me wrong i enjoyed spuffy and love spike but bangel was so much more touching and buffy even says herself: "i would have given up everything i had to be with... i loved him more than i will ever love anything in this life!" and angel always saw the good in buffy even b4 they truly met they were the best!

@JumpingBeans480 Im a bangel fan and always will be but I actually agree with your comment.At the end of the show it was clear that buffy and spike was the way forward, as much as it pained me to see that. Though I felt much better after Angel too moved on in his show....

Compare Liam and William. One's a whoring drunkard, the other is a good man. In life Liam cared only for his sister, and William loved his mother. When they got turned, Angelus drained and killed his sister while Spike turned his mother to try and save her. After getting his soul back, Angel felt guilt. So did Spike. But Angel spent over a century doing NOTHING to help anyone. Spike wasted a few months before he finally helped Buffy in the war. So really, it's obvious who the better Man is too.

It should also be mentioned that Spike did a lot of helpful things before he was turned ... was even capable of falling in love with Buffy, and tirelessly protecting Dawn. Angelus wasn't capable of love. Spike EARNED his soul back through trials and suffering; Angelus was cursed with one and only then began his (unwilling) suffering.
