I usually remove the copper rod from the handle and pound it to a square point with a hammer on an anvil. Then I file it as needed until it is too blunt again, then re-hammer it again. One piece of copper can last many years.....jim
Yes, I usually use an optivisor for really small points because my vision is not what it use to be. When I was younger I would not have needed it....jim

I was wondering what do you think they used to do this fine flaking and notching? I'm strictly traditional knapping but I'd like to give this a try...any suggestions?

I believe they were used. I have found points very similar to Cahokia points in western Oregon that were used, probably for very small game....
