The revenue chart is totally misleading, the real reason they have 31% of revenue is because macs cost significantly more than windows PCs, not the "fully featured systems, compromising on quality". I have a macbook pro and it's my favorite computer i've ever owned, but I don't like how they like to mislead potential customers. That said, macs are awesome and they deserve all the success they've had. Definitely worth it if you can afford a nice one :P

well...yes and no. it is quality, but it's equally the brand you're paying for. the brand includes lifestyle...that's what you're paying for. I'm writing this with my os leopard and I love it. But to be honest, a 300$ notebook like the msi wind does a fabulous job, so I why would I need a 1000$ one that wouldn't run it better???.

Once again, quality. There isn't even an equal PC with the same kind of build quality and design the Macbook Pros have. Thats just the design, on top of that theres all kinds of premium priced parts that are all standard, like DDR3 memory, Wireless N built in, 9400m integrated graphics, OLED displays, backlit keyboards, the new battery technology, etc.

Bottom line, you get what you pay for. You are paying for a lot more than just the brand, you're paying for the quality and better user exp.

Only 9% of the population use Macs, yes agreed. 5 years ago it was something like 5%. What will it be in another 5 years ? 15%-20% of the population using Macs. Possibly people coming to Mac because of Vista.

BTW it was Vista which made me get a MacBook Pro in June, my first Mac and I don't regret it one bit.

Microsoft does NOT make the hardware that runs windows. All computers that run windows are made by other companies such as Dell, HP, and Sony

All computers overheat, that's a fact you can overheat any computer. Now I have a buddy with a Toshiba laptop and that thing gets hotter then all hell, on the same note his girlfriend has a Sony laptop, both run vista, and her's is fine. If you have any sort of logic whatsoever you could see the one at blame there is Toshiba not MS.

If the HARDWARE overheats, the one's to blame are the people who made the HARDWARE, as far as the xbox 360, yes that is MS fault, no doubt about it. But we're talking about WINDOWS here.

Microsoft does NOT make any computers that run Windows. If your computer is running Windows and it overheats, it is the company (such as Dell, HP, or Sony) who made the HARDWARE's fault, not the company that made the SOFTWARE

I have never had a problem with windows it just takes a LOT OF MAINTENANCE. My current pc has both a heavily modified copy of xp and linux installed. Haven't tried vista though but if you don't like it install xp,linux,hackintosh,lindows whatever. And macs still cost way too much there making near $1000 profit off of every notebook if not more.So if you buy a $1500 mac the cost in parts and software is only $500 your're getting screwed because they think you're ignorant.
