ABDLs come from many different backgrounds. Some ABDLs had less than ideal childhoods. Others had relatively happy healthy childhoods. It would be incorrect to point at one aspect of one person's life and say this is what caused them to become ABDL. And there is no way to know if things had been different that they would be ABDL anyway.

The "issue" of Adult Babies also sometimes come into the issue of sexuality & people with disabilities. Something not much acknowledged in the Disability Community, with adults with physical disabilities like Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Multiple Sclerosis, ect.
Oh, and I wanted to write a note about the origins of ABDL, but ran out of room in the comment below. While a number of ABDLs come from dysfunctional families, there are also many ABDLs who had relatively happy, healthy childhoods.
Individual ABDLs name various reasons for why they each became ABDL. Some might even be contradictory. We are have unique stories. There is no formula for creating an ABDL. And whose to say that if someone's life had been different they would not be ABDL anyway?

ABDLs come from many different backgrounds. Some ABDLs had less than ideal childhoods. Others had relatively happy healthy childhoods. It would be incorrect to point at one aspect of one person's life and say this is what caused them to become ABDL. And there is no way to know if things had been different that they would be ABDL anyway.

For some people, being an AB/DL is a reaction from a traumatic childhood expierence when they were little, possibly from a caregiver... Sounds weird, but it's true. Others become AB/DL because they didn't have a loving mom who would care for them, and they want to try and incorporate/live that expierence. There are many reasons for being an AB/DL. It's not just a fetish or pleasure thing...

I admire her courage to publicly come out as an infantalist. I am an adult baby and I think it is weird. Being weird is not bad. Most people have at least a few aspects of their lives that are unusual. I think this is what Tyra is trying to say when she said "How freaky are we." She used the word "we" which is being inclusive, not exclusive.
Maybe she could have been more tactful, but the questions she is asking only reflect what her audience must be thinking. And she provided an informative doctor.
Tyra is not out to get us. This is a fair interview.

Individual ABDLs name various reasons for why they each became ABDL. Some might even be contradictory. We are have unique stories. There is no formula for creating an ABDL. And whose to say that if someone's life had been different they would not be ABDL anyway?

I agree with the sentiment that "normal is what's normal for you." Outside of ABDLs, age regression is a common aspect of human psychology. It is also possible that there are a lot more ABDLs out there than anyone would guess. I still think that we are an extreme minority, and while there is nothing wrong with being ABDL, it is absurd to describe being ABDL as normal.
Most ABDLs are pretty normal outside of this interest, but most people have aspects of their lives that are not normal.

I don't see any problem whatsoever with wearing diapers. I wear diapers when I get the urge, and I absolutely love them. I'm 25, straight (though openly bi-curious) married, and love going outside with thick crinkly disposables under my favorite shortalls. It has nothing to do with pedophilia. It can be sexual, but not always. Diapers are insanely comfortable, and very convenient at certain times. Just try them out sometime when you're home alone, I'll bet you'll love them.

Many (most?) talk shows that address ABDLs are sensationalist at best, and quite often openly hostile. For this reason I think ABDLs should be extremely skeptical if they are considering participating in one of these shows.
However, from what I have seen on youtube, the Tyra show and the Secret Lives of Women show gave us a fair presentation. The questions that Tyra asks, and their tone, reflect the thoughts of her audience. Tyra's job is to ask these questions.

There are many different reasons people give for why they as individuals have this interest. These reasons are not consistent. In fact, many contradict each other.
