I was just thinking about that before I watched this video! I was thinking 'what if a child reads these horrific things in the bible and thinks they're true?' it worries me.

This may be your best. (I probably always say - or at least think that.) Christians will hate it. They have a hard time with anything that points out what their bible actually says. Children certainly shouldn't be exposed to bible porn (sadly too much of it). Unfortunately for Christianity, children are the most likely to accept all that crap uncritically. If you wait until they grow up you may be too late. True, SOME adults can still be talked into it, but kids are much easier to convince.

@kerayzey I've met quite a few Christians and the majority only know the very well-known verses that everyone knows and what's recited to them by their parents and at church. It's sad to see so many people blindly following something they know so little about. I don't mind Christianity, but it's unsettling to see so many people make such a serious life decision without truly knowing "The Book" they base their entire lives around.

This may be your best. (I probably always say - or at least think that.) Christians will hate it. They have a hard time with anything that points out what their bible actually says. Children certainly shouldn't be exposed to bible porn (sadly too much of it). Unfortunately for Christianity, children are the most likely to accept all that crap uncritically. If you wait until they grow up you may be too late. True, SOME adults can still be talked into it, but kids are much easier to convince.

I watch this video again, and have a small correction for what was said at position 6:10... Actually the fictional god character written about in the bible was in fact trying to kill Moses, and not Moses' son. But it(god) failed as it was tricked(out witted) by Zipporah(mosses wife). ;O)

a lot of things completely out of context... and some just plain exageration. but overall the point is made. there truly are many things in the bible that are not suitable for kids but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of good in it too. and the only reason why the bible is so explicit about that sort of thing is to make it clear that it was wrong. an abomination as it said.

This is awesome bc I have a BA in religious studies(mostly Christianity) and this is all TRUE. I feel like I appreciate this more because I have studied all of those verses and I felt like when I looked around no one was as appalled or offended as I. I'm glad someone else sees how disgusting the Bible is in general but more specifically towards how it treats women.

And he castrated himself after the reading that verses in Mathew! But Origen is ranged among the creators of christian ideology and catholic orthodox and lutheran churches consider him as one of the greatest authorities! @FreedomThroughChrist The 2nd part of Matthew 19:12 "made eunuchs of men" is the only part that mentions a eunuchs as in a catrated man.The 3rd part "made themselves eunuchs" is eunuchs as in one who abstains from marriage.I just proved the misinterpretation and gave both greek words to look up.Eunuchs is mentioned 5 or 6 times in that verse that's too many times to be talking about the same thing.The Bible was translated from hebrew to greek and from greek to english.

I looked it up and it doesn't say anything close to that.Proverbs says not to rely on my own understanding.I think it's in chapter 3.1 Corinthians chapter 1 says the world does not know God because of their wisdom (knowledge) and God won't reveal anything to the prudent (smart person).That tells me not to rely on my knowledge and understanding about God.

What about castration propagated by Jesus, he really said it. But in the modern translations of the Bible, the word "castration" is mostly replaced by renouncing of wedding. But in the original version it is exactly the offer to cut off not only penis but also balls. One of the early fathers of christian church Origen of Alexandria castrated himself after reading that bullshit in Mathew.

What about the New Testament, it was written in Greek language by apostles which saw Jesus with their own eyes and learned Greek because Holy Spirit "tought" them in a way opposing mixing of languages happened in Babylon. That's why it's the most important how it was in Greek. In Greek language it's literally said that if you castrate yourself you will have much more chances to get to the Kingdom of God. That's why Origen castrated himself and why there exist sect of castrates!

What about christian sects of castrates I can mention you a few. E.g. Valesians in the Roman Empire or Skoptsy in Russia in the first half of XX-th century. Of course Christians had no choice but to say that Jesus didn't mean it literally, that it was an allegory, etc. because otherwise the Christianity would disappear! @kerayzey I've met quite a few Christians and the majority only know the very well-known verses that everyone knows and what's recited to them by their parents and at church. It's sad to see so many people blindly following something they know so little about. I don't mind Christianity, but it's unsettling to see so many people make such a serious life decision without truly knowing "The Book" they base their entire lives around.
Agnosticism for me. Neither side can prove or disprove God(s).

I'm a huge fan of Norse and Celtic mythologies... mythologies in general, and they're all about fucking and incest and gratuitous murder and shit. It's awesome. Like a Greek tragedy. I was bored of Christianity until I realized it had tons of that too! And all those demons and angels fighting, and saints and whatnot. It's so polytheistic!
