koshiki no kata

When I practiced this kata, it was done as slow as gravity would allow it to be done. Even so, it seemed to happen very very fast. The concept was that of two warriors wearing very heavy armor, such that if you fell, you could not get up without assistance, and would be run through with a sword. Falling would be fatal. One of the most amazing transendental exercises I've experienced. NIce demonstration, thanks.

It seems like they're mainly rolling their opponent rather than throwing or trying to inflict pain. I see little use in this other than to disrupt an opponents footing.

The origin of the judo is the jujitsu(Correct pronunciation is jujutsu). There were jujitsus of the Kito-ryu, the Tenshin-shin-yo-ryu, the Sekiguchi -ryu, or a variety of style sects in Japan. The aikido is one of jujitsus,too. kicks, pierces and chops exists only in kime no kata and koshiki no kata. It is necessary to acquire shape to grade up of black belts.

i think the uke seems to be "too easily" thrown is because in this kata, you have to imagine them dressed in some heavy armour. Making them less agile then a normal judo-ka in gi.
