It is very suRReaL to watch this..and, I must say ~czmma~ describes the intensity of your expression of the moment veRy weLL..I was watching when this tragedy happened and that moment was extremely intense and devastating..you have truly captured the moment with fire and intensity..Awesome editing..I have so much to learn and I am very thankFuL for your visit today..a true giFt..I choose to think from OuR Father up aboVe..cooL..keep expressing yourself..way cooL..
I made it with Adobe CS3, primarily with Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop. I like how these programs are available for both platforms because when I was on the go I had the ability to toss the project back and forth between my Mac G5 and PC notebook.
Really very good...Video as art, Ambient visuals, and subtlety, (were those loads of little bombers?). Reminds me a little of "Koyaanisquatsi", which is high praise indeed,if you haven't seen it, you should. Keep up the good work, send me more like this!
Thank you, yes I have seen Koyannisquatsi and I'm honored by the comparison! To answer your question about the effects please see my response to ambroziak's comment below.
At night they light up the Eiffel tower so that it has this cool sparkling effect which I filmed with soft focus and a slowed shutter speed. I then captured the footage onto my computer where I extracted each frame as a still image, shuffled their order and then placed them back into the timeline in a strobe pattern against the shuttle and tower mesh backdrops with varying opacity. So to answer your question, no it's not really animation, just heavily edited video with in-camera effects.
Thanks, the video is actually a mish-mash of sources: The Eiffel Tower in Paris, Jamaica LIRR train station in NYC, a boat off the coast of Florida and archival media of the Challenger space shuttle disaster.

is that animation that starts at 1:10? or are the pixels making it look that way? either way that's my favorite part.
