I am a christian, and have wondered about this myself. Not so much about homosexuality, only because ANY sex outside of marriage is a sin. I've personally never heard anything preached on that. And sadly enough on fornication 1x, adultry maybe 1x. But what puzzel's me is how many times I've heard a sermon on a sin that dare I say, everyone commits; Lying. 0 times!? No one who indulges in it can enter heaven, and yet, no one talks about it. I've been trying to figure this one out for years.

if I can have a choice between good and bad, I can choose bad. thus, that would be a flaw. perfection leaves no choice. no free will. if I was made in his image, why do I have free will? if satan was perfect, why was he given free will?

God made everything perfect and the sin introduced by satan brought death.
God is not to blame. The imperfection was not introduced by Him. Did He see it as God and existing out of the constraints of time? Yes He did.
Thus, God coming in flesh to remedy the problem by each individuals CHOICE. Believe in Christ and choose to be altered so we can see heaven OR reject it.

I want you to name me on religion where it's founder died and then resurrected Himself and performed so many miracles in front of tents of thousands of eye witnesses.
All other religions that have come into being originated form a single person that wrote it down. The bible is 66 books 40 authors written a 1500 year time frame that mesh perfectly together.

The difference is this. If you are a homosexual and you claim God made you that way then what you have done is accuse God of making you a sinner.
In my walk, I have repented of my sins knowing they are mine sins alone and do not say that God made me a sinner.
In God there is no sin and there is no darkness but only light.

What it does do is give signs we can look for like road signs. With each sign we see we know we are getting closer and closer and as it stands, we are almost there.

He will probably select from only those who made a significant and responsible effort to discover the truth. For all others are untrustworthy, being cognitively or morally inferior, or both. I am a christian, and have wondered about this myself. Not so much about homosexuality, only because ANY sex outside of marriage is a sin. I've personally never heard anything preached on that. And sadly enough on fornication 1x, adultry maybe 1x. But what puzzel's me is how many times I've heard a sermon on a sin that dare I say, everyone commits; Lying. 0 times!? No one who indulges in it can enter heaven, and yet, no one talks about it. I've been trying to figure this one out for years.

You know, I'm worried that because I didn't have sexual intercourse that included vaginal penetration today with my wife (yet, with whom I did share a glorious mutual masturbatory session) that I may have missed an opportunity to impregnate her, thus I wasted my precious gift of sperm. That potential baby is now not going to be born. I might as well be gay and spill it on some dude's lower back or way up in his backside. Purely a waste and a sin. Spilled seed is homosexual by default.

No sin is greater than the other. This specific sin is covered a lot now because some don't see it as a sin so there is more conversation of it now, and debate. People are trying to make it natural, therefore, more coverage.
I don't believe homosexuality comes off as a choice, but I do not believe it is natural. I believe it is environment, and thought development as a case of personal testimony, and others.

This also is discussed among crowds people more now, because the issue wasn't as publicly addressed back then. People used to just accept the word without any problem. Now homosexuality is more widespread in the public eye, and is tried to be accepted as natural in schools, and education. Thus again, it is more discussed than usual in time comparisons.

The reason why Christianity is so financially supported by the right wing machine is because they want people to be in fear, obedient, submissive, manipulable, in fear of rejection by their social groups, and they want people to procreate so they can have more workers willing to be exploited. Just my 3 cents on this subject.

There's no such thing as sin. Sin is an artificial construct that was created by authoritarian religious regimes for the purposes of behavior control of the masses. There is only the system of ethics, and is from which [secularized] governments establish laws. It's been with humanity far longer than all of today's institutionalized religions, and actually is the system upon which religions attempted to establish their own individualized set of morals (enforced by commands/threats from gods).

Homosexuals get the "special treatment" because [you must keep in mind] religions have always been strictly tribal in nature, and to identify some "other" group people has always been their primary tool of reinforcing the all important "us vs. them", "good vs. evil", [warrior] mindset which religionists still find strongly desirable (warm fuzzies), and upon which the creeds thrive upon to this day.

Homosexuals are not the only group they use for their pleasing bigotry-based self-righteousness -- not by a long shot. But religious leaders in the US have systematically targeted homosexuals over the last few decades because they were running out of groups to openly persecute, and because they were the easiest to label as "wicked". IMO, however, the tide is beginning to turn as people open their eyes to the terrible injustice and blatant discrimination based solely on what someone IS by birth.

Former Christian here. I would suggest that the undue emphasis homosexuality gets in Christian circles can be attributed to a variety of factors, including, without limitation, ignorance, Christians enlisting in the right wing's army in the "culture war," a desire to avoid dealing with the less sexy "sins" that Christians commit in far greater numbers -- e.g., gluttony, divorce, gossip -- and, last but by no means least, it's a fundraising goldmine.
