this video only taught me one thing and that is the "duck bill" i learned one thing but many thoughts... one of them is i dont know who to feel sorry for, the manikin or the curling iron... DEFINITELY not the hairstylist at least she "thinks" she knows what she's doing.

This didn't help. Of course i know what it is, how to use the ducktip thingie, which way to twist it. Problem is, every time i do it my hair just doesn't work with it, it's like.. i either run out of hair in the back and then it just looks too stiff, or if i try to brush it off a bit to open the curls a little more then everything goes away. Or, if i do it by layers, layers get mixed up and then i have random strands of straight hair in the middle. Etc etc.

@videlsd do it in layers and then hairspray or fix the bits that sticks out unless your hair is very wire like then try making that part of the hair a little wet and then fix it up

whenever i try to curl my hair starting at the end, it doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the strands and leaves this weird kink in it that really bugs me!

most stylists would say that you should feed the hair thru the iron so that you don't put to much heat/stress on the ends of the hair, because the ends do not take very long to heat up like the middle section does
