  • Okay all the white people commenting on this video need to shut up! If you aren't interested in our culture, why are you watchin videos like this? I am proud to be native. Cherokee and Choctaw pride!(:

  • pawaw

    pawaw

  • the grandfather of my mom was an indian does this make me one , i don't have any phisical appereance thought

  • @nicobatcher You are if you choose to identify with that part of your heritage and are proud of it.

  • Ya know!! There is another "Cherokee War Dance" on the TUBE. This a lot closer but still looks a lot like Mohican.

Scot Irish Cherokee from 1711. ( so I can not to get on the "lists")

    Thanks

  • lyrics and translation? haha

  • @84shakalaka They are declaring war. That is the war dance!

  • @Infloun Dude It Doesnt Matter What Tribe Ur From, Seriously i Dont Go Around Saying " Im Woodland Cree The ONLY Real Natives Out There" Seriously Apache/Ute Are Just Like Any Tribe Quit Being And Ignorant Full Of Yurself Bastard. Dont Even Bother To Identify As Native If Yuh Say That Cos Im Sure yur Elders Are Ashamed Of Yur Words And Actions! Think Before You Speak. I Think The Cherokee Are Proud Of There Ancestry An Traditions. Im Woodland Cree And My Middle Name Is Lakota (Chenoa) It Means

  • @NinjaSaurz15 You Cap Every Word Like You Have Not Been In An English Class. Good Job On Your Worthless Come Back. Laugh Out Loud.

  • @Infloun Whoa :/ I didn't even comment on thsi stupid video, it was my cousin was the one who commented. I even agree with what she said. Grow up and stop being bushed. Pretty pathetic, people like you make me ashamed to be Native.

  • Beautiful!

  • Thank God I ain't Cherokee,

I'm proud to be full blooded Apache/Ute REAL natives.

  • @Infloun I personaly find your comment offensive. I am Cherokee. I would like you to explain your opinion further though your not the only one to have said this im sure so what do you base it on?

What makes a real native? Whats your reasoning or what qualifications do you rate a reel native tribe as?

    Wado

  • @tastyfreeze14 We'll I'm glade you find it offensive, Cherokee Indians are just a bunch of jokes. Not my fault your blood lines have been watered down by dog piss. Your "tribe" is the fart joke of many other Native Americans. Live with it.

  • @Infloun I think as someone living in England, any of the tribes existing nowadays should band together and reflect that your tribes live on in any form.

So many ancient civilizations were totally destroyed by us white men, yours was fortunate it at least survived.

Respect to the great plain tribes.

  • im only half cherokee i wish to learn more about my culture

    cherokee pride XD

  • My mother is 1/4 American Indian, her father 1/2 blood. I don't kinow the tribe because she did not want to know more about her blood line. Her father drank too much so she wanted to turn from him & toward her mothers side. Granddad is gone now & all of his brothers & sisters. What is the best way for me to research where my people are from?

  • My great grandmother I believe was 1/2 Cherokee. Unfortunately I was not able to be brought up in the Cherokee Tradition, yet that has not effected my love and respect for Native culture and traditions. It may not be much blood, but it is the part I cherish most. I only wish more people understood the importance.

  • Memories of being a small girl begging my great uncel (who was half cherokee and half lakota) To teach me this dance. (And so he did.) His sister (My grandmother) mother was a full bloded cherokee and her father a Powtan. My great uncel had a diffrent father who was Full lakota. I have been blessed to have all of the influnces of diffrent tribes in my life. How ever I regesterd Lakota since that is what my moms dad is and I pratic more of the ways. How ever I am proud of my people and who I am

  • My great grandmother was a full blood Cherokee and my great grandad half. I'm proud to have as much Cherokee blood in my veins as I lucked out to get!

  • bunch of keystone indians

  • @dadecountyhustler305 What is wrong with a white woman marrying a Native American man? If there is anything I truly hate in this world is ignorant people who think that love has to be within that person's race. Love is love...get used to it.

  • good to see a real Cherokee dance along with the proper song. They mix so much at "pow wows" now. I only dance at night, around a fire, like we are suposed to.Same for Church.

  • oooouchhhh this grass hurts my feet

  • its in the spirit :-) not the percentage...

  • It's even better if you are Irish/Cherokee/German/Swedish!

  • when you are like us, part european and part native, there is no doubt about it. we ARE americans. this continent is in us. we dont have the need to hypenate ourselves.

  • try being Irish/Cherokee/German! Its awesome!

  • god i love my heritage nothing beats being Irish/Cherokee.... nothing.

  • :( i have very little in me i wish i was born on some sort of indian reservation, mabe then i could have some kind of tradition and talk to my family more, im always sad that weve got so little bit of everything in us that w cant celebrate our traditions from any side of the family

  • the real indian don't do this on public for this punks that kill his grand parents....

  • How come every American that has even driven through the country south of New Jersey is at least 1/32nd Cherokee? Jeez people...and take those stupid "dream catchers" off of your rear view. They are not even traditional...

  • @PuddlesMcNiggley thank you

  • If what I know is true im 1/32 Cherokee I wish we had more info on the family.

  • i am over half cherokee my grandmother is full blood

  • my great great ezikel proctor look em up last cherokee warrior

  • cherokee paint clan

  • o si yo a ni yv wi ya hi do hi tsu tsa la gi a ni wo di

  • 1/16 and proud,

  • I love this...it reminds me of Iroquois songs and dances!! It clearly is that we are related...and not so long ago!! Beautiful...we have War Dances like this too!!

I guess that is where they speed it up and it became smoke dance! Speed it up and come join the Smoke Dance competitions...huh!!!

  • may I ask what the name of the song they're singing is?

  • my grandfather was a full blooded cherokee and he married a white woman and had my father who also married a white woman,so i'm 1/4 cherokee.

When I told my friends for the first time they didn't belive me cause i am fair skinned.

Then I showed them all the cherokee stuff my dad has. After that they gave me the nickname shadow cause i make little to no noise when move around.

  • I AM CHEROKEE AND SOOOO PROUD OF IT!!!! I remember this one too =]

I love my family and my pride will NEVER die!

  • I go to Haskell Indian Nations University and I'm still shocked by all the natives that laugh at Cherokees. When we start a new class we all usually state our name and tribe. When I stand and say my name and Cherokee i hear laughter cuz I'm a "light skin" and I've heard people assume that all light skin natives at Haskell are all Cherokees to me it doesnt matter. We all have a history. It upsets me at times but at least I stood proud and said "My name is Mallery and I am a Cherokee!"

  • Were'nt there some Cherokees named Qualls? That's what my great great grandfather's people were named. My mom said they were a division of Cherokees.

  • @Arzoyan-So you'd rather live in the midst of socialism where the government has complete control of wealth? I wouldn't prefer any of the alternatives, including communism.

  • Even though I don't have much, I'm still proud to somewhat be part of the great Cherokee Nation

  • I am a teacher of Spain, I would really like to do for my pupils a representation of the dance cherokee but I not find the lyrics of this beautiful song. Someone could help me? Thanks a lot!

  • @Tristerel i woulndt know where to find them id probably search cherokee war dance lyrics on google

  • WOW @32 my great grandfathers name was Lighteyes.. he also married a white women.. all his daughters looked real indian except they didnt have dark black hair.. he was also a tongue talking holy spirit filled pastor..that left quite a legacy behind for 3 generations.. i have uncles an cousins that pastor multi racial churches in 5 states.. they are on the war path for Jesus the great holy spirit. :)

  • i have seen the tribes in the soth where gamberling is giving the natives money ,i hope they spend it wisely

  • its not fair the the native americans are not treeted better , i am english ,

  • @TheScothern

They arn't treated better?? If you lived here you'd notice they get paid MONTHLY by the government and get free college and the tribes are constantly asking for money and they get it. They're treated just fine..

  • @TheScothern finnaly some one agrrees with me.

  • idk how much indian i am but i know that im more than half african. i just like to learn about other cultures

  • so if im white but have over 15% cherokee. you say im not indian?i dont know i like to see what a real cherokee would say about this so please write me?

  • Im like 1/6 Native Indian (From Cherokee...to the Airwacks of the Carribean) I take pride in all my heritages...its nice to know you can carry on the blend of so many different cultures.

  • Wow, too many people say they're Cherokee, my dad says I do but honestly I don't believe it, I have more Scott in me and I'am proud of that, my step brother on the other hand is actually Indian or a good bit, seen his grandma she full, they're from the Edisto Tribe in South Carolina, they're not a big tribe but they have little pow-wows like in this video.

  • you cherokees are all whit hahahaha haha lmao ur white not ndn and if great great grand ma or pa was cherokee ur not id that bloob iz gone haha so show me ur tribal ids then ill i know ir nativeamerican oh yah was ur great great grandma the cheerkee princess well all us real ndn are tired of hearing that shit hahahah

  • @baybeegurl33 no, my grandmother was cherokee. my father grew up in ohio, during the 40's and 50's being called half-breed .i have reddish brown hair and blue eyes, so i can't possibly claim to be native, i don't look the part. i would love to know more about my heritage though. my great grandfather's name is on the dawes roll though. i just think it's sad, how many people had their heritage stolen from them. peace.

  • only one person to my knowledge in my family has ever had a tribal ID...he is currently living on a res. other than that, my family has been on this land since the begining of our history. because some cherokee are lighter skined, is not their fault for their ancestors being raped, or for their ancestors being stolen from their tribes and forced into "white" civilization. forcing natives to breed into white society was a tactic used by white men to try and destroy our race even quicker

  • @baybeegurl33 I got my tribal ID..Tsa La Gi..I am a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and very proud. We are all mixed..read up on just the trail of tears and you see how The People mixed. So maybe some can't get thier ID due to thier family scared of the white mans paper. My family is Pure Ani waye and my family gets buried with the Chiefs' Tribal Blanket.

  • @baybeegurl33 nicely said lol

  • beautiful

  • @MrBLEEDCRIMSON; Perhaps Hiawassa,AND Tecumseh were both right, and the people didnt listen.Hamitic,Semitic,or Japhetic,we are ALL dumbasses sometimes.

  • so what if some people can't prove it? they still want to be proud of it i myself am told to be a little native but it is my fathers side and i know VERY little about that side i am learning now, but still if i was asked to prove it i could not but should that stop me from being accepted by a people? even if my bloodline has diminished down, if i feel a connection and want to celebrate that shouldn't it be enough to at least be welcomed? i was told cherokee and chiksaw so i embraced and learned

  • i love the Native American people and there culture

  • I'm Sioux Indian, My Family Is, And I LOVE Cherokee Also, Because, My FAVORITE Singer (Cher!) Is Cherokee! but, I Still Have to Say I Am Sioux So My Proudness Goes To The Sioux's!

  • my grandmother always told me that most of the people that claim cherokee or black foot are not really native. They are just wanna be natives or hippies....and that includes those that say there grate grandma or grandpa are native.... me I'm full blood AJUMAWI of the PIT RIVER nation....

  • so will you hate those who do/are?

  • well its true in some ways. im JUST enough Cherokee myself to be considered part of the tribe. when I have children, they will not be part of the tribe but will still have native blood in them.

  • That's interesting how many people say their grandparents were Cherokee but can't prove it. I am Cherokee and I can prove it, ha!

  • thats pretty cool love the song very catchy dance is pretty cool really interests me traditional ways

  • It still amazes me that whenever white come to Cherokee, North Carolina, they still think that we the residents of Cherokee still live in teepees, ride horses and wear feathers in our hair. I myself am over half Cherokee and Navajo.

  • Neither the Cherokee nor the Navajo lived in TIPIS. Those were the Sioux, people only know Native Americans as living in Tipis because in old west movies, it depicted the Sioux (who live in Tipis) fighting back against whites, so the stereotype was born.

  • @shay10502 the white man is a dumbass......we have all figured that out by now my native brother.

  • @MrIBLEEDCRIMSON my great great grandfather who was benjamin wade was on the choctaw dawes scrolls=i am currently in the process of gathering my family lineage tree so i can talk to the choctaw first nation about my tribal card.

  • @MrIBLEEDCRIMSON normally I would be in disagreement but sense Bush was in office I am forced to agree.

  • I love this guy's voice. This is something that I would like to see live.

  • Im practically everything but Native American takes up most of my bloodline(Cherokee and Chikasaw Indian) It's pretty cool, it seems that Native American's seem to have a clearer and more understanding view in life. Just my opinion though.

  • My great Grandmother was full cherokee . I am proud of my Cherokee Indian heritage.

  • That's funny, two of my grandmothers were full-blood Cherokee. That's kind of a cool coincidence.

  • @TheTsalagiWolf well i am extremely excited because i just recently found out that both my biological father and grandmother were native american (full blood).but because my father left me and my mother when i was very little and my grandmother committed suicide no one knows what my tribe is. Im going to have a dna test done on me so my tribe will accept me.

  • dna wont show which tribe dont waste ur money do a family tree and check the dawes roll

  • @mightymedic i just checked the dawes roll and both my great great grandfather and mother were listed on the rolls.

  • there u go should be enough to enroll in a tribe depending which one. but be warned dont expect much of anything most peolpe think they can get free college or tax breaks

  • my great grandpa was pure cherokee

  • Is there more than jus this war dance? Because I have gone to two different videos and heard the same song performed. I really want to hear more war songs but can't find any more cherokee ones.

  • That is a racist comment, puppyfindotcom! That was rude and not funny.

  • u racist piece of shit fuck u ass hole and let me bang ur mother insted u stupid son of a piece of shit fuck uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • My great grandfather was full blood Cherokee and he married a white woman, their son my grandfather also married a white woman and my father married a white woman. So I am only 1/8 Cherokee, but that doesn't effect my love of traditions and my culture. i have never denied my Nativeness and Never will.

  • @32Mallery i heard a man say that 'i might only be 1/4 indian but heart is 100% indian and i'll be indian till the day i draw my last breath'. ppl get caught up in the amount they have, ppl with less usually look and act and feel more than ppl with more. i also read where someone once said 'there's no thing as part cherokee, your either cherokee or your not'. and you are Cherokee, i am Cherokee period. may the Creator bless you

  • @32Mallery the govt's fraction system is an illusion

  • @32Mallery same here, brother.

  • @32Mallery whoa, my great grandaddy was full-blooded and married a white woman 2.

  • @32Mallery In my opinion it doesn't really matter "how much" Cherokee you are. I was born being only 1/32 Cherokee...but we lived by their traditions and I always lived by what my Cherokee grandfather told me. I am a Cherokee no moatter what people tell me, and if you live by it, the so are you :)

  • @JayChouKaijuMaster i am cherokee on my maternal grandfathers side and i respect the culture and wish to learn more i feel the passion of my people.

  • @32Mallery It doesn't matter if you have no Native American heritage ; it is what is in our hearts, actions, speech, and even thoughts that make us people who Walk on The Mother Earth, in Balance or not.

  • @32Mallery Same here brother...but im black...still no difference :)

  • @32Mallery I too am only a little. 1/16 cherokee, but i represent it every where i go.

  • @32Mallery Wado! Have you been to Cherokee, NC to visit the village and seen the drama?

  • @mrsDEJr No I haven't. Sounds interesting though.

  • @32Mallery 1/8 too and I feel the same way. Except mine all married black women. Same difference. But I definitely feel ya on that one.

  • @32Mallery im brobably about 2/5 cherokee not a lot but still i feel the same i love the traditions my family actualy dances at pow wows

  • @32Mallery no matter how much native blood you have in you its what is in your heart thats wat matters

  • @32Mallery I am similar to you, my Grandma was a full-blood Cherokee and so I guess I'm 1/4. I am very proud if my Indian heritage and our traditions. I think the Indians are a noble race of people and I hope they continue as a culture.

  • @32Mallery blood has nothing to do with it it's your heart and your love for your ppl that matters.keep your chin up my Brother

  • @32Mallery Your grandmothers were probably classless whores if they married outside their race... Most white women who do date outside their race usually are... at-least from what I've noticed...

  • @dadecountyhustler305 shows what you know of American History. After the Civil War, there were few able bodied "white men" left.If a woman still owned the farm, she had to get a man to help and the slaves were out of the picture, either for labor or marrage.Further, you mutt, Cherokee are Eastern Woodlands people and one of the five Civilized Tribes and the equal of any race. I agree about race mixing but you know fuckall about the Cherokee or American History.

  • @32Mallery I'm a tiny part Cherokee, even less than you, but I'm still proud to be that little bit Cherokee! :)

  • @emugwak me too!!

  • @32Mallery

Me too! except between those all thoose white people was one mexican father I had, who also had cherokee in him, I dont think I am even 1/8th.

  • Full blood here and a member of Redbird Ceremonial Grounds north of Vian Okla that is where we do the stomp dance and I can trace my blood all the way back to the trail of Tears

  • i have cherokee in my blood my granddads great grand mother was a full blooded cherokee

  • my grandmather (who is still alive, mind you) is a half blooded cherokee. or is it a two third blooded?

  • yeah my granddad is 1 third cherokee i forgot to say that

  • that is way cool. I won't dramaticly declare myself as a a bit cherokee, like others. ah-hum. But im also spainerd. So i really don't get that.

  • I was unaware the Cherokee fought anyone and off all the nations they were the most easily assimilated. They thought Andrew Jackson was their friend. Boy were they wrong!

  • I love American Indian traditions... so much melancholy in those songs...

  • i am cherokee^_^

  • me too, my grandfather is pure cherokee

  • pretty cool im not and native american though im spaniard sorry for what we did

  • its ok brother but u got to undertstand those white fucks who hat nativeamericans are still here so if see them tell them to fuck off

  • The words basically translate to I'll bury the enemies' war club so deep in the black earth that it'll never rise again. I'm wolf clan, warrior society, but we believe in peace, not war. Only looking out for the people

  • OH REALLY?!?! *O*

  • That's what it means?...Cool.

  • im half cherokee my grandpas dad was full blooded cherokee he wirsteled a bear hes dead not from a bare murduer and any cherokee warroir can do this thats tells you how strong cherokee warriors are!!!

  • Also, its not supposed to be "scary" You don't do this dance in front of your enemy, you do it to pump yourself up I believe. And yeah your right, people who were about to go into battle would be a lot more violent and fierce in their dancing.

  • cool song -anyone know what its called?

  • Comment removed

  • it dosnt have to look like it

  • It will when the war club comes down on your head.

  • LOL! Yeah I realized after I made that ill informed ignorant comment that it was more about getting themselves in the right place spiritually and mentally for battle. It's not like they did the dance right in front of the enemy lol they would just be attacked. Everyone screws up every now and then and I should have known better since I have a small amount of cherokee blood in me. Peace

  • Comment removed

  • i am cherokee too best warriors

  • Ay tsi hy cgZbc

  • Reneesme, this thing doesn't support our fonts.

    Phonetically, that's: Sa-ya ta-s-i hi-ya da-ga-no-ge-da ?

  • how dare you insult the cherokee after what they went they through. They danced not to scare people but as ritual and to get the right mindset. Trust me a cherokee warrior would take you out easy

  • I'm Mexica and a Native American.....

  • i love this song! :)

it makes me happy to see my people in general.

    being eastern cherokee/black/shinnecock/ is a a honor. :)

  • half hungarian half algonquin native =P

  • I don't "claim" to be anything. People are such idiots on here. Jealousy is a horrible thing to have my friend. I don't claim anything but pride in my Cherokee and Hispanic origins.

  • Im 50% cherokee & the rest is irish my moms side is indian & my grandmother is full blooded indian, we were the indians that was split from the cherokees & now we're called lumbees, u dont beleive me then go to pembroke or lumberton N.C. & see. theres lumbees in those areas

  • I am Cherokee, Irish and French ha ha

Thank you for sharing this video, peace be with you.

  • im cherokee, french canadian and bengali.

nice to meet another strange mix

  • My great-grandma was an Irish princess.

  • to me this dance was kool as my origin is from new zealand it is good to see other cultures carryin on there heritage keep it up and never for get peace.

  • try cherokee, shawnee, german, english, moldavan, georgian, lithuanian, ukrainian...that's me! a native amercan eastern european jew!...ha ha...proud of all of it...

  • its mixed race gone mad , for us.lol

its pretty bad when ,like me, you have an unlimited amount of conflicting religions on top of it....then i drop the bomb by being an atheist .lol

  • I'm Cherokee, Irish and English with a Scottish-influenced last name. Can you tell me what it means when someone is referred to as a Cherokee "princess?" My great-grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee and it was written that she was a "princess." Thanks ahead of time! I'd like to learn a lot more about this part of my heritage!!

  • Why does everyone claim to be Cherokee?

  • cause the cherokee's are a sell out tribe that went to the whites and mixed with them.

thats why you have white and black cherokee's

  • How could you say that? Have you even heard of the Trail Of Tears? Did you think it was a made up story? Cherokee people were enslaved, and the women were raped! The Cherokee people were brutally murdered for their land.

  • The other tribes were'nt so smart either.

Fighting each othe when they should've banned

together to fight the whites, early in the

    occupation of America.

  • Dragging Canoe of the Tsalagi did that around the same time as Tecumseh. He united us, in my opinion. We didn't fight the whites early on because we treated them as humans instead of enemies.

  • they were enemies as soon as they got here, and where i'm from we're still enemies

  • (to kiikaapoa) then you still have unforgiveness in your heart... the creator created us all as equal in his eyes, no matter the race or skin tone, your making your life harder by not forgiving, Every singe human's blood is RED!...every single human has the human spirit within him.. no matter the race... spreading HATE does not help anything...by spreading hate your making these situations worse (im not trying to sound like some medicine man... im just telling you the truth) hatred does NOTHING

  • and that kind of thinkin is what caused us Native Americans 2 lose our war of freedom, now most Natives can't even speak their languages or have their old ways and beliefs anymore, that's all, iini

  • Flysoneagleswings is right..and the native americans were in wars all the time..killing each other off constantly...despite the rap the whites get as being a waring bunch.

  • @FlysOnEaglesWings

    Neither does ignorance.

  • oh haha my comment below this one wasnt meant for the person who made this video, thank you very much for putting this on here!!

  • Thanks for the video. I'm only 1/8 Cherokee, but I still enjoy learning.

  • I'm poasbly part Cherokee

  • That means I know my blood line, the language the culture. And I am also fullblood. I eat sleep breathe taste feel see hear TSALAGI twenty four seven!!!!!!!!!

  • so are you trying to say only full bloods can claim cherokee? i am a quarter my grandmother is full blood..i also speak the language and no my culture! so why should i not be acccepted i embrace it more than some full bloods i know and fight 4 the same causes as you!

  • nobody said anything like that to you, im full blood, i am 16 and already i have been earned my warrior rights, you fight for nothing, you speak only your pathetic english words, you dont know how to fight a war, i am a TSALAGI warrior ghost, death before dishonor is in my blood, and ill be damned if i let a half-breed try and start a war from pathetic words...you will NEVER know how it feels

  • You may have already "been e
