  • Lol smart recovery????

AA has 2 MILLION members... Good thing about aa is when smart recovery leads u back to the bottle...well welcome u back

  • What a disgusting human being.

  • Burn in hell Bill W you piece of shit excuse for a human being. Someone should have slit your throat when you were passed out on the john back in the 20s.

  • @kevinfirstnamefinn why are you so angry

  • @casper55117 the reason this joker is angry is the same as mel gibsons fury driven rant he is obviously an alky that can't or won't sober up the fact he is blaming a guy whose been dead 42 yrs for his problems shows how unhinged he is if you don't like AA just go back on the drink no one is stopping you problem solved, he thinks charlie sheen is a swell guy, enough said.

  • @edinburgh9000 lol he wants tigers blood

  • Rot in hell you sick son of a bitch and don't ever come back. What a worthless excuse for a human being.

  • what a deuchebag.

  • Thank god you're dead Dr Bob.

  • "maybe those AA people were right"

  • Isn't it ironic God chose a Proctologist to help Bill co-found Alcoholics Anonymous?

  • I have been going to AA for months. The first month I was drinking after every AA meeting. Then the day came when I messed up real bad. Soon after my drinking progressed and I then had a feeling like no other. I needed to be helped, give everything to another person. I went to detox. After those five days I knew I had a life besides drinking. I have been sober for 39 days and have been to a meeting almost everyday. I owe this to my Higher Power which I choose to call God. I owe a lot to AA.

  • alcholics anonymous saved my life 15 years ago and have not had a drink since...thank you bill w and dr bob

  • If a program works for someone, far be it from me to criticize it or that person. All I can tell you is my experience. I surpassed all expectations, including my own, when I went 24 hours without a drink. I now am approaching six months sober, and all of the credit goes to God first, and AA second. If SMART recovery works, great. If running naked around a tree works, great. AA has worked for me so far, and, though it hasn't been a cakewalk, it has certainly been rewarding and SANE.

  • I did AA for a year. Then I found SMART Recovery, and I haven't had a drink since (32 months sober now). Way better. No faith healing nonsense, no sponsors, nobody telling you that if you stop attending you'll relapse, no magical thinking, no cult dogma. SMART is based on scientific research, not the evangelical uprising of the 1930's. SMART has online chat, a discussion forum, and a list of meetings.

  • This story amazed me the first time I heard or learned of it and it still does. Because of it these 2 men started a place not only for alcoholics but other programs as well. You will only get out of it what you put into it. The negative comments I have read here are just that percentage that will always be no matter what the subject. More people have found help through these programs and I thank God for these men. To any first timers I want to say that if you relapse do not quit-part of recovery

  • If you fail to enlarge your spiritual beliefs, you are doomed. AA fails only those who try to do the program on their own. My experience is the work will save your life. Not just physically but spiritually. The Big book is the key. Use it to open that door to a recovered life. You'll find that your usefulness to others is the real reward. 14 years of sobriety is my testament. But, hey, don't believe me, check it out for yourself.

  • What a wonderful surprise. Very grateful! 30 yrs. sober.

  • Awesome, the beginning of a era beyond ultra modern standards. The altruistic movement began. Well done for posting this. Grateful beyond words. 3 yrs sober tomorrow too. xx

  • AA NA CA saved my life. All I wanted to do was die. I am alive and have found my spirit again.

  • Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty.

  • Aa cunts so many people with more issues than alcohol like mental illness.so many dick heads told me once sober you don't need your medication fuck wits.

  • Comment removed

  • @Manicwensday1 when it comes to medication AA doesnt have and opinion.

  • I love Aa drink more piss and be merry one day at a time.

  • Napisy w polskim języku..please

  • Glad I found this. Been floundering in my resolve, watched the Bill W movie last night & got reconnected with the miracle of AA.

Those who will can naively call it a cult all they want, but it does not meet the criteria. Before the advent of AA, hopeless drunks and addicts did not have any kind of fair chance to get off and stay off their addictions. Now they do. So what if we make a hero out of Bill W? So what if we follow the formula that worked for him and the first guy he found? It works.

  • As I listen to this on New Years Day, I am grateful for another day of sobriety. Bill Wilson was a self-admitted man of great ego and arrogance. I am thankful he and Dr. Bob were open to a spiritual awakening and the early AA members codified the 12 Steps as a roadmap for others. I've enjoyed 28 years clean and sober; more than half my life. I am grateful to be able to be of service every day. Thanks to Bill W, Dr. Bob, and AA for providing tools I can use to live a fulfilling life.

  • bill wilsons such a typical scumbag. its a shame he is thought of as a drunk version of jesus. i hate aa. the only thing about it that works is that something happens when "one alcoholic talks to another" thats it, nothing else about aa it true.

  • @itsmejunky It's a shame you choose to scoff rather than read the basic text of A.A. to learn its message -- it's not talk therapy. See the middle of pg 52, read the Dr.'s Opinion, pg xxviii, see pg 20-21, then read pg 25 and study Dr. Jung's description of a vital spiritual experience on pg 27. Sounds as though you could use one. Namaste.

  • @DonKofAK sir, i have read the basic text 10 plus times in my life, i was a member of aa for 6 plus years and im not even 30 yet. I would SUGGEST that you ACCEPT that I too have a point of view, and maybe you could be a little OPEN MINDED to what that is, and not JUDGE me on it. Take care.

  • If you are alcoholic and take the steps you dont have to drink again and if you're not alcoholic you dont have to drink again

  • always get a charge out of this

  • Calling AA a cult is very derogatory description of a design for living that really has saved millions of peoples lives. Scoff as you may but AA does work if you follow the directions given you. If you are a real alcoholic---AA is perhaps your only real chance at sobriety...it was for me 25 years ago. Come and see for yourself...if you are not alcoholic chances are you won't stay however if you are an alcoholic, alcohol will drive you back into AA or kill you. It's that simple.

  • Staying sober without the cult of AA works better, you don't have to be lifetime recuiter for the cult of AA.

  • I liked AA but the people there try to run your life. They give you "suggestions" and yell at you if you don't follow them. They want you to come an hour before and stay an hour after the meeting. I THINK IT'S EASIER AND MORE EXCITING JUST TO BE A BINGE DRINKER. BINGE DRINKING IS FUN. I stay sober for a 4-5 months then drink every day for two straight months. It's amazing!!!

  • Am I the only person who thinks his voice sounds slurred?

  • It's amazing to me the people who take the time to post all the fear based nonsense that we found is the root of all our problems. Keep coming back. Your Higher Power will always wait for you! Thanks Bill W.

  • thank u bill for giving us the 12 step program

  • Thanks for posting this, I always enjoy hearing Bill's story. What a shame there are so many detractors, it worries me that problem drinkers may be put off AA by these fear-mongers. Remember, fear is your worst enemy. In my own case, I got into AA, and like so many others, I lapsed quickly. A few months later I was back, more desperate than ever, and with some warm friendly guidance and a lot of effort on my part, I now have five years of sobriety! I have nothing but gratitude for Bill and AA.

  • @cedsplace "it worries me that problem drinkers may be put off AA by these fear-mongers. "

hahaha, don't worry, if they fear mongers drive them away, the booze will drive them back because fear mongers have nothing to offer except more fear.

Alkies might be nuts but they know BS artists when they hear them.

  • Imagine going to a room every night and listening to someone tell the whole same story every night, or worst people who fabricate a story so bad that its only fit for the movies. And a moment of clarity saved me from DEATH.. I turned my live over to a higher power which can be anything " Garden Gate" and this will restore me to sanity. So in fact AA tells me my higher power can be what i want. So when i close my gate every morning do i kneel before it?

  • @PMcM1007 " in fact AA tells me my higher power can be what i want. "

    No it does not.

Page 59, right above the 12 steps directions.

"But there is One who has all Power-that One is God.

    May you find Him now".

I don't see anything about garden gates or light bulbs, only in the mouths of alkies who have never read the program. But thats the nature of the madness.

  • He has been out on the piss. What a pile of shit !

  • if your an aa member and in recovery feel free to email me shaneorth@live.com.au

  • AA/Oxford Groups. NEITHER of these movements is just an oppressive regime, 'brainwashing' and bilking the innocent. Both movements point to very real problems in society, and both offer solutions plausible to many. In both movements, long-term affiliation is voluntary, though exposure and early indoctrination is often coerced. The Oxford Groups was only one of MANY protofascist movements in the U.S. in the 1930s, and AA is only one of many such movements today.

  • I hate my disease............

  • Bill Williams was not a perfect man, but he was the perfect man for AA.

  • @Dontworrybehappyism who is Bill Williams?

  • alcololics anonymous saves lives

  • AA is a cult of insantity that makes people dogmatic little cultieswho lives totally suck.

  • @spacestate Keep on drinking!

  • this video gave me chills...just celebrated founder's day. went to dr. bob's house for the first time and also got chills too. thank you for spreading the VERY GOOD WORD. god bless!!

  • illumanati 1526 started the JESUITS, 1540 Jesuits Oath infiltrate other religions & destroy them, see Jesuit infiltration, NWO has the world drugged thru Cola's Sodium is Hex ACID see films at FluorideAlert, on empty stomack before each meal at bed time take magnesium, pure water add 1/4 tsp Iodized Sea Salt per gal, ADDICtION to Cola broke in two weeks, Depression cured tired feeling cured

  • he was dropping acid with Audus Huxley in the teen years of his sobriety. In todays terms he would no longer be considered sober. He was a huge Philanderer. He was the first Big 13 stepper in AA. That's why this is a has become such a huge problem in AA and has never been addressed. Now there is Rape going on in AA.

  • google make aa safer.wordpress

google stop 13 stepping in AA

There is horrible stuff going on in AA. Things need to change

  • @inwood75 like what.??

  • Bill was a saint,God bless AA,,

  • he is pissed

  • @weinerout---"a seemingly HOPELESS state of mind and body."---not to be anal, but there is a huge difference that should be noted here.

  • part 11 final

Hey... sorry folks. Sorry so long-winded. But I'm trying to describe my God here.

500 damned characters don't cut it.

  • 10b

Some of us are inherently caring and generous. They were just sort of wired correctly. Some of us feel we're alcoholic and we have certain defects that we can no longer live with. We're looking for a way to treat our inner character spiritually. It does work. But are you implying that you know a better way? Let's here it.

  • 10a

We've gone too far the materialistic way I think. The planet's gotten too small and there are over 6 billion of us. Us. That's right. We're all in this together, whether you/we like it or not. People are selfish fucks and we're looking for a better way. The one thing I can do is get out of my head and learn a better way.

  • 9c

I won't bore you with Louie Giglio (utubedotcom/watch?v=RKMw1ndl-EY), but...

  • 9b

We've been to the moon... I think. We can comprehend that there are stars which dwarf the size of ... not only our sun, but the earth's orbit around the sun. If the earth was a golf ball...

  • 9a

But where have we gone with all of our great material advancements? An Ipod that stores 4000 songs. A 52" led TV or a 46" LCD TV with 1080p and 120 Hz? A car that goes from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and 60-0 in 3.1 seconds? A car that has a sticky accelerator and crashes into lakes, walls, and buildings?

  • 8b

He fully admitted that he didn't think these ideas came from him. He likened these ideas to come from the air of the times and if he wasn't the one who discovered something or invented something, someone else in the world would have at that very time.

  • 8a

Religious dogma reared its ugly head but was thwarted by the advancements in the 1400s, 1500s, 1600, 1700, etc. As religious persecution started to subside for mathematical and other scientific advancements, we moved from the realm of the spiritual to the realm of the material. Benjamin Franklin, a brilliant scientist and radical politician, invented many things to make his and others' lives easier.

  • 7b

Our fears, our pride, our shame, our stupid petty jealousy and resentments can keep us doing stupid idiotic things and fighting for the wrong causes. You look back at ancient Egyptian societies where they had brilliant minds doing incredible feats of science, physics, architecture, construction, art, cosmology, etc. And they were supposedly fettered by superstition and religious dogma.

  • part 7a

Why... after thousands of years have we humans not advanced too far, if at all? Well, the ego, or our instinctual and animalistic brains are tied to our forebrain and it's just sort of the way it is.

  • part 6

The human mind at its very best? 499. To go from the mind to the heart gets you to 500 and above. The world consciousness collectively? About 204, maybe 210. That level above 200 is right where Truth and integrity and Power begins and force and the demonic states of consciousness, such as shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, and pride drop off.

  • part 5

Religion itself does kind of suck. It only translates to about 380 on the energy scale of consciousness. The New Testament and the A.A. book? 540. A hit of crack or a nice bottle of bourbon? 600. But that false high of 600 is very fleeting. To get to bliss by the practice of spiritual living is more permanent and lasting.

  • part 4 For example, our minds cannot differentiate truth from false. That's why a lie is so easy to sell this planet. But our "awareness", which is beyond ego (or karma) and form, knows. Things are measurable. Jesus is Truth. Mohammed is true. He did reincarnate. Jesus know that John the Baptist had reincarnated. Jesus is the only being the planet had ever known that came right straight from "heaven".

  • part 3

I believe that science should be science and Spirit should be Spirit. David R Hawkins has a way of measuring things that would seem otherwise unquantifiable. But it just so happens that states of consciousness are measurable. I believe in a God which is merely That which manifests our very existence. You exist. You must. I'm responding to you right now. I exist too. In the realm of form, we are limited to what our minds can "see".

  • part 2

I can also understand being bent and done with religion, I guess. I was never abused by religion nor forced to do anything with regards to religion nor had any God crammed down my throat. Not as a child growing up and not now in A.A.

A.A.s God is about the most innocuous thing I know.

  • @rexxed33 So... you don't believe in any kind of Order of the Universe? No Law of Nature? No Intelligent Design which put this thing together?

I can understand not believing in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, or even Santa Claus... but we humans have a basic need for worship.

  • Call it what you will "god" and AA live in lies , Religions theories and faiths (AA) Relgion speaks of certainty with out having facts , Science speaks of fact with certainty but are religions AA so different ? There are roughly 6,300 religions on earth AA is just one of them , uncompromising truth (lies) Theres only ignorance and suffering Is dangerous and undermines humanity to the point of demise How can people of this age still believe so ridiculous and AA is right there

  • And peace be to you.

If others can recover without A.A. that's wonderful. They would by default seem to at least wonder why we cannot do likewise. But most leave it at that and don't set out to bash A.A. and to discredit and incriminate recovered alcoholics who help others. They don't creat blogs who say A.A.s rape, brainwash, use, manipulate...

If you're Godless and believe that crap, that's your problem.

Alcoholism is an industry. There are unethical ways to make bigbucks from it.

  • We can't worry about those who mock what they don't understand. I'm grateful today, I'm sober. If others can get sober without the program, they have my admiration. I tried hundreds of times to stop on my own, but could never stay stopped. AA has kept me sober longer than I could on my own in the past 23 years. Peace to you.

  • Somebody comes in here and states they had their 1 year birthday and thank A.A. for it, then another states that A.A. saved their life.

Both those folks got negative reps. Why? Because you fucksticks hate A.A. or those who love A.A.?

What are you afraid of, dickholes?

  • The tone of Bill's voice reminds me of my uncle Bill - a lifelong Baptist, who swore off alcohol in the '30s. Strange coincidence.

Bill W was touched by God. AA saved my ass.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • I have just had my first AA birthday and it is because this fellowship and the twelve step program i am alive today, i am a very grateful alcoholic.

  • AA gave me a new way to live. LOVE & PEACE

  • what AA said to me was "if you can get sober on a non spiritual basis then fantastic do it! and good luck but if you tried that and it failed then you might want to try this that is my experience i tried everything else first and it didnt work but i do agree its not the only way to get sober but i also believe it depends how far down the scale you have slipped as regards insanity well when your robbing your family assaulting your loved ones wetting yourself etc etc not really sane behaviour

  • Altho it seems like you all have got your live's back because of AA. Why do some of you feel you have to say that no counselling or tearapy could do the same work. If its mentioned you all go on the defence. But if we mention that AA is not the only way to get SOBER you all say we are INSANE.. . If your INSANE your not ware your INSANE and thats when your put in a lock up ward. Been clinicle Insane is a terrable place to be. Why AA feels the need to tell newcomers there INSANE is beyond me.

  • Comment removed

  • @PMcM..the behavior not the individual..

  • @PMcM1007 I don't know who you have been speaking to, but you're talking to an extreme minority who probably never read the book Alcoholics Anonymous. The book clearly states that AA is not the only way to get sober. Also, they clearly state to get any other help you need whether it be therapy, medication or whatever. Both cofounders dealt with and were very open about their own bouts of depression in sobriety. One more thing. In my 18 years sober, I have never heard a newcomer called insane.

  • @PMcM1007 For a sober alcoholic, the very IDEA of wanting to drink is proof of insanity. After all our problems, WHY would we want to drink? Because we're crazy.

In our book, alcoholism is described as "a seemingly impossible state of mind and body" . We understand and identify with that.

  • @weinerout .. What a load of BUll.... You prob drank coz you cant handle live, your emotions or the fact you grew up in a defucntional family.. Your far from crazy. AA and the people who set it up thought out that second step very well. You see in there day alcoholics where thought to be crazy, put in lock up wards and left there. Now days the medical world dont recken your clinicle insane you just made stupid choices.. Your crazy for turning your will over to a higher power of your own choice.

  • @PMcM1007 you have no idea how insane alcoholics can ge from a lifetime of drinking pathologically. Most people just cannot grasp how sick alcoholics are.

I didn't become alcoholic because I drank too much.

I drank too much because I was alcoholic.

It was always there, it was me, I am my alcoholism, self.

  • @jonesgerard You are obessed people, do you not think other people have bad days, Alcoholics are very dramatic people. Thats there malady they only think of them selfs. Like they always play that card, most people dont know how sick we are!! Even your quote "But there is one who has all power that one is god may you find him now" Does that not sound cultish??? Your scare tatics in AA are out dated, AA or death, what a load of BULLSHIT..

  • @PMcM1007

Its not difficult to see the results of your garden gate higher power.

  • @jonesgerard Yeah but a Higher Power is ment to be all powerfull than you he will restore you to sanity wont he or she. So a garden gate will not restore you to any form of sanity. Actually useing a garden gate or a lamp post, bus, car, pet as a higher power means your alot more insane than you thought. I hope you read the chaptor to the agnostic? If not read it again SLOWLY...

  • @PMcM1007 the book says that " self centeredness is the root of our problem. Why are you mad at AA

  • Seemingly HOPELESS state of mind and body,,,if your going to Quote the book you might try reading it to Quote

it properly, more over the insanity is secondary to the allergy.

  • Thanks Bill W. If It Wasnt For You I Wouldnt Be Sober! Not To Mention Finding God!!! (( God Had Won))

  • To those who call AA a cult I say you are wrong!! Unless you have walked a mile in my and many other peoples shoes you know NOTHING about AA...

  • Since 1935 AA has helped millions and I have been blessed to have 15 years 6 months plus of being sober thanks to AA.

GHod Bless AA and those who help me sdtay sober no matter where they are...

  • Cult, plain and simple.

  • There are some individuals and groups that are not good examples of AA...but don't judge a fellowship as a whole...People helping people..Plain and simple..there are no magic wands,,,sorry your experience was negative..perhaps it is you? just a thought...

  • I feel the same way....I see too much anger toward AA and it's a shame....I know it's because some how there are those who didn't receive the right message and was hurt by some of the members who are not really working the true program of AA and they are hanging around the rooms to destroy others of true sobriety....I would like to say to those too not to give up on AA because AA has given me an awesome life that I never knew...better than my life before alcohol

  • @sherriewaldo ..The anger towards AA by members who have left is because of the lie AA is selling. Im happy for you that AA gave you a life back and that your now happy and sober, but take credit for your own actions!! Whats True Sobriety??

  • @MrFirekeeper2 If AA were only people helping people, it would be a really good thing. At the heart of the program, however, is learned helplessness and faith healing. If AA would lose these elements, and include info about alternatives (such as SMART Recovery, Rational Recovery, SOS, etc.), I would gladly return. This is just my opinion after having spent a year in AA. I now have about thirty consecutive months without a drink, and life is good. Best wishes to all, whatever path you take.

  • AA SAVED MY LIFE

  • bill screwed everything with a skirt including some tv's in nyc. fucking liar

  • Thank God for the 12 step program without which i would not be alive today i would not be free from physciatric wards and rehabs i would still be homeless and unable to work my sponsors response to medication was "im not a doctor! i suggest you speak to him about that" today i have my family back, i run a business, and im sober 5 years AA did for me what no amount of counselling, hypnotherapy, different towns and different women could ever do, it worked for me when nothing else did thanks AA

  • 25yr chip i took last week ,,,god bless bill wilson,,,thnx dude,,,,,,sobaaaaaaaaaaa

  • To sailorman13:

Alcoholics Anonymous has saved the lives of MILLIONS of people worldwide.... Including mine. We have all confronted our pasts and forgiven ourselves. I WAS the scumbag you described Bill W. and Dr. Bob as. Our pasts do NOT determine who we are. That's the wonderful thing about life.

"No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we can see our experience can benefit others." Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, Page 84

  • To sailorman13:

Judge not, that ye not be judged. For with that judgment ye judge, ye shall be judge: and with that measure ye mete, it will be measured to you again. Matthew 7:1-2

  • A bad man, can tell true words. Are you an absolutely good man or woman? God works in curious ways. sailorman13, are you the perfect example for a good humanity? Have you read A.A. literature. Don't look the person, look inside you. Have you been absolutely honest with yourself lately? The words of this two mans will last for ever.

  • Why doesn't Dr Bob tell the story of how he pawned his 17 yr old daughter off on a 37 year old philandering drunk in his cult so she wouldn't marry her high school sweetheart. Or how he used to grovel and cry in front of his wife as she scoured his pockets for alcohol. Dr bob was a coward, petty tyrant and snake-oil salesman. Not one to take seriously. Just another scumbag, just like Bill.

  • I had to get sober and work the steps, otherwise I might spend my pathetic life telling silly little storiesover the Internet to get someone's attention...seriously wienerout if that is your best hustle-it's time to quit drinking.

  • I stand by my account of what happened. I was in rehab at the time in Brighton England and in AA at the time. The response by 'wienrout' just enforces the attitude which killed my friend. I am sober for six years without AA.

  • Did you hear the one about the guy who was forced by AA nazies to stop taking his blood pressure meds? He had a stroke and was completely paralyzed for life! No shit. It really happened. It really did.

Congratulation on your sobriety - asshole.

  • Congratulations on your lack of ability to form a well thought out arguement.

Slating people over the internet is not particularly brave or clever.

Why would you call me an asshole for being sober? because I did it without AA perhaps..'weinerout' people should have different opinions - whatever is working for you, good luck to you mate

  • Comment removed

  • Me trying to explain A.A to someone who is not an alcoholic is futile.. I once thought as many of you did.. This is a cult, They are crazy, they are probably all still drinking, etc. That is just not the case..

All i can say is that A.A has changed my life for the better. I am 35 now, and was a daily drinker from the age of 17.. I have now been Sober for over a year.. God bless the steps.. I have not only found god, but i have found Myself in them.

  • Alzer, those most critical of AA are steppers themselves and former steppers. I am an alcoholic and I have over twenty years sober without AA. This is in spite of AA telling me I would get drunk if I left AA, or continued to see my drinking girlfriend or many other things. God exists outside of AA for many people. For those who don't believe in God they can still abstain. Look at what Bill W. was. Do you really think a sane God would bestow this miracle program of AA on such a troll?

  • Ok joe if you really want to bring up AA's issue this is what happened. The Big Book got published in German yet the translation was not correct words in English were translated into German words that did not follow what the Big Big was saying. American AAer;s didnt like this so they published correct German versions that were not approved by the German AA groups. Because of this there is a lawsuit .

  • Its all a scam all he did was borrow the steps from The Oxford Group and then add more to lock drunks into the program. Second I hope that you cult memebers understand that your dollar in the basket is not going for coffee or rent its going towards the various lawsuits AA is intangled in, currently they are being sued by Germany for copyright fraud when they decided to pass out and sell big books because the Germany translation was incorrect.

  • You got it backwards - try to understand things before posting false information.

  • GOD Bless you Bill and Bob.

  • Comment removed

  • I heard about that Brighton Beach guy. At the autopsy they found a Big Book jammed up his ass and a picture of Bill Wilson tattood on his forehead. No shit, it really really happened.

  • You are both (surebeatsworkin and weinerout) clueless boneheads. AA does NOT tell you to flush your meds, it encourages psychiatric help if necessary. You don't have to drink the Kool-Aid you morons. It's a choice and only suggestions to lead a sober and happy life.

  • OMG he sounds like he has been drinking

  • Incidentally, in just what parallel universe is it appropriate or morally justifiable to enncourage a drunken surgeon who has also taken barbiturates to "carve up" a patient. Surely this is a crystal clear case of medical malpractice. If the patient had died, there would be a clear case of manslaughter.

  • Henrietta Seiberling's opinion of Bill Wilson was rather less than complimentary. She considered him to be not only a thief and a fraud, but to be frankly suffering from grandiose religious delusions, including coming close to claiming to be a reincarnation of Christ.

  • Does really work?Or these people just brainwashed?

  • Either way, they're sober, and isn't that the point?

  • Is he the great leader of AA ? And who is the number two man in comand the dear leader. What does AA teach to the followers?

  • Thank God for Bill Wilson, Dr.Bob, and the program of Alcoholics Anonymous.

    Thank you.

  • Bill Wilson is a joke and anyone else that follows his oxford group ways u all need to wake up ur in a cult fools lol

  • nothing makes people seem more foolish than contempt prior to investigation

  • La unidad es el valor mas apreciable que tiene nuestra sociedad, de ella dependen nuestras vidas y de las que nos sucederan, sin ella dejaria de latir el gran corazón de AA.

  • I just went on first 12 step call last night with my sponsor , good to be the one NOT shaking this time.People from AA scrapped me out of the gutter, now it's time to pay it back. They did not ask for money, or a commitment of any kind, they only had one requirement and that was a desire to make the nightmare stop.

  • My Doctor is a good guy, but he doesn't know or understand a thing about alcoholism.

When he wants to know something, he asks me.

  • AA has saved my mind and life,i used to have aquantances mainly drinking ones, now i have friends ,,when i was drinking in the end i trusted no one,i trust my a a friends,i thought i did not need people,i thought i could sort everything out,.how wrong i was

  • I wonder if Dr. Bob did Belladonna too? Anybody know?

  • I don't agree with all the negative remarks on here about AA. I haven't had a drink in 24 years. AA saved my life which was verified by my doctor. FYI, AA is strictly self supporting and does not charge for meetings, etc. I had a sponsor come to my house when I was real drunk and he sat and talked to me until he got me into a Rehab. That was 24 years ago and also my last drink.

  • dao3rd. Millions of us have had the same experience. When we really needed help, AA was there.

  • when i really needed help, aa was there -for sure.

the problem is it killed a friend of mine, and almost took me under as well.

this is a *deeply* dangerous organisation.

by the way, you're right to use the plural - it is millions. it's 2 million

  • Your doctor can verify AA saved your life!!!

  • Thank you- I will look for the docmentary- seems even treatment and 12 step has backslided- nobody seems to want to do 12th step work anymore

  • Good to hear it from Bill W himself- I got it "in my pocket" today from a founder where I was born. A humourous and insighful man who could reach the toughest case with a handshake a a few words. He told me Id probably have to fall on my ass a few more times. And he was right. The hospital where he founded a teatment center took his name off and turned it into a Hell Hole after he died. There should be a statue big as Father Flannigan there.

  • Well done. See my new documentary on treatment in America "Party at the Detox Center" at my youtube page for more info.

  • bad news

  • Funny how a few drunks talking about thier shared experience's can make people so angry. I thank the lord Jesus and Bill W & DR Bob .Let it go !!!!
