I think the reason why the driver hit the biker was in a attempt to dodge the tree that was comming up. If you play the 11,12,13 seconds in slow motion, (or just play alot with the pause button) you can see that had the driver kept the same direction without moving, he wouldve hit the tree or atleast hit his mirror

the car had to veer to the left because there was a huge tree there and they would have hit the tree if they didnt veer to the right.. but still the car is at fault , hit the brakes like the announcers said would have been the right thing to do.

I just noticed, that the car hit the cyclists because it had to swerve out of the way of the tree..

So it was a pretty dog act, but otherwise the car would've been trashed too.
