  • How much is it to ride one of these from... lets say Oakland to Sacramento?

  • @WPRR1 Oakland - Sacramento -- $27

  • they need a surfliner dash 8

  • it was on time

  • I understand B-32 DASH 8 powering this train is going to be retired from service and also other of these locos. They were AMTRAK horsepower in the years 1990 replacing classic F40 units after 20+ years of service.

  • @lailasalas And where did you hear that they are going to retire these units?

  • what was the two cab cars numbers?

  • @sp44491 Looks like they were the 8313 and 8304 possibly

  • i saw the 712 leaving fresno at the same timei was arriving for the fresno veterens day parade.

  • nice try MR.niselat.

  • in CA even the horns are gay

  • what car was the dining car?

  • Has there been a doubleheader of this train.

  • @AmtrakSurfliner456 Yes, they do every so often

  • what made it smoke?

  • so if this is 2052, where is 2051&2015?

  • thanks man

  • why does that train have two cab cars?

  • @sp44491 They probably just needed an extra car and decided to use one.

  • Love the GE CHUG!!!!

  • with all of that smoke @ 2:24-2:36 looks like fire

  • Is it fine to railfan on that side of the tracks? I go to the Fresno station every saturday, and I always stay on the waiting platform side.

  • @RedLego391 I wouldn't recommend it, I've gotten in trouble a few times for doing it before.

  • WOAH! THAT IS A LOT OF SMOKE!!!!!

  • I've got so much to learn! I caught 2052 in Fresno this past Sunday and thought that was unusual and here's a video of it in Fresno back in '09. LOL. Great video!

  • @DardanellesBy108 Yea the P32-8BWH's (only 2 are apart of the CDTX roster, 2051 & 2052) are a nice change from the regular F59's. This was also back in the good ol' days before Fresno became a quite zone! The Dash-8's have been in service since the late 90's at least, and have gone through a couple different paint schemes. 2052 is currently running on the morning train rotation.

  • @SF3751 Thanks for the info!

  • Beautiful horn...lol.

  • Nice vid I have that loco in HO scale from Atlas

  • Sweet, I have yet to get one myself, but am slowly building up plans to finally get it lol. It would be the one unit I throw everything into: sound, light packeges, etc. The whole 9 yards lol.

  • I don't know, that was a weird set they had going.

  • why is there 2 cabcars on that train?

  • Well enjoy this amtrack while its hear because in 10 years from now, there going to take this train out and replace it with Fly California High speed train.

  • If UP ever lets them have trackage rights, which I don't see anytime soon happening, we don't have to worry about it.

  • there not getting a Trackage rights with Union Paccific or Santa Fe, there building two lanes of track allong the side of 99 or golden state highway. with electrical wire like the TGV railway system.

  • Their main problem is getting over the Tehahcapi's on the way toward L.A. and other southern points of connection. Santa Fe is now BNSF (merged with Burlington Nothern in the 90's = Burlington Northern Santa Fe)

  • They will use a second Cabcar as a coach. If and when they another Coach.

I seen few Pacific Surlfiner Trains with at least a second and or even a third cabcar. Only because they didnt have another Coach available.

  • @sideslide23 These trains won't go out of service, the run with the high speed service, serving as feeder to the high speed trains buy stopping at the smaller stations and bringing passengers to the big stations where they can transfer to the high speed trains

  • Ah yes,....the sound of K5LAs wit choke fitters. That B unit GE seems to be burning a bit rich. Maybe a bad injector or two.

anybody catch the Charger Cop Car at 3:28?

  • Ha, those Chargers are all regular down here in Fresno. Thanks.

  • this is my birth date u took it

    i turned 11

  • Nice.

  • Thanks for the vid I will be taking 712 in a few weeks time. Pa Mal

  • >#8 - Most Viewed (Today) - Travel & Events - South Korea

    lol

  • Ha! LOL. 2052 came back from Chicago on December 29th, after gettig her interior re-done. They also made their own mix of the CDTX original paint scheme the Dahs-8's where painted in.

  • Yep, that's my Home Country, although I was born here.

  • No kidding? Cool.

  • cool. but not cool to stay there forever!

  • LOL

  • I thought you ment FIRE! LOL! Very nice! 5*'s and a favorite*!

  • Dang, I was hoping that 2052 was going to be a Capital Corridor.

  • Nah, you have 2051. Keep it!

  • Nice video! Dash-8s tend to do that when you push the throttle all the way up when starting.

  • Ya, I got her once more today, but leading this time. No smoke this time!

  • That's too bad, it's more fun to watch when they're spewing smoke and fire!

  • yea we have FP40's and Genisis Deisel enngines

  • Ha! Thanks Larry.
