  • same old crap , science is wrong ( in their opinion ) so my sky daddy exists , this is a logical fallacy .

  • good interesting video

I like the part of the seaweed(H)

  • evolution licks bag.

  • I think this video makes a good point. The universe is comparable to a watch. the way the seasons, months, days, hours all run like "clockwork". In fact isn't the watch just a model of these things to keep track of them?

  • It is not comparable to the universe at all. Such a statement is extremely ignorant.

  • Oh and to an earlier post. There is lots of ways DNA and RNA strands get longer. one is when replicating, instead of seperating 2 their respective sides, both the replicated and original copy drift to the same side and thus you end up with a cell with more dna then it should and one dies which is fine. Another way is through RETROVIRUS's please do your homework

  • boorens18: While genetic information can accumulate in natural processes do not generate 'new' information. In fact natural processes are known to detract from available genetic information. Be it any type of mutation or natural selection it remains a 'loss' of pre-existing genetic info. The problem of information is a hurdle evolution has not cleared.

  • This is the most insulting video to evolution. please watch "evolution is a blind watchmaker" too see a video that explains why this clock argument has never appeared in a journal. BECAUSE ITS A STRAW MAN ARGUMENT. IT DISTORTS OUR VIEW

  • "This is the most insulting video to evolution. please watch "evolution is a blind watchmaker" too see a video that explains why this clock argument has never appeared in a journal."

It is impossible to insult evolution. Only people get insulted.

The real understanding come when you realize

complex interactions of energy in various states of excitation we call life...thinks and

designs. Energy designs. We are evolution happening including our "design"

  • boorens18: How is this a straw-man argument exactly? How does this misrepresent the evolutionary view?

  • There are much better designs thinkable for walking upright, why dont we use them? because we evolvec, and werent designed... please study a little biology before claiming absurdities...

  • pauklzorz1985: Better designs like what? For that matter, what part of biology proves evolution over creation? Truly you tell us not to make claims, but seem to feel free to make boisterous and backless claims yourself. I wonder, what is your basis for believing that is acceptable practice?

  • The biggest flaw is that all nature is nót perfect. Its all half working, with a lot of things suboptimal. If it were designed it would be optimal, because why settle for second best? Evolution works with whats there and alters it little by little, that explains all the compromises. Take the human pelvis and lower back for instance. We humans are plagued by difficult childbirth and sore backs, because of a compromise resulting in walking upright.

  • pauklzorz1985: All these "flaws" you speak of are not due to poor design, but to the curse man suffers in a sinful world. Consider that the design was perfect (Genesis 1&2) until mankind ruined the world (Genesis 3). I'd be happy to discuss this further in PM though as these boxes are so confining.

  • This is really wonderful, guys. It is simple, yet marvelously true. God is the master watchmaker. It is completely ridiculous, however, to say a watch came together by chance. Yet that is what the evolutionists say about the human eye, the bombadier beetle, and many other marvelous creations. These wonders could be formed by chance from the Big Bang or a miraculous single-celled organism, about as well as a watch without a watchaker. Thank you so much for speaking the truth. God bless!

  • chance has nothing to do with it. we evolved eyes over the course of evolution in small steps. why bother with a quarter of an eye first? it's 25% better than no eye. just one single light sensor and you already have the ability to distinguish day from night. a few more and you might be able to avoid walls and objects better. a little membrane forming around it and you have the ability to control the environment of the eye better, enabling you to see, for example, under water...

  • Paul, how do you think our sexual organs evolved? 25% at a time? LOL!

  • So they're comparing the universe, the most complex system there is... with a watch...

    *Sigh*

  • Isaiah 64:8

    But now, O LORD, thou art our father;

we are the clay, and thou our potter

  • complexity doesn not always mean creation.

  • complexity does not imply the need of a creator.

  • Ah, isn't that a cute video showing one of the oldest (Paley) straw man arguments creationists have.

  • I really thought this was an atheist video until the end and I LOL'd at the first 40 seconds.

  • I like the animation and the poem ^^.But i hope that some day they understand that in this analogy say that the living thing need a watchmaker, but, who make this watchmaker ... another watchmaker?? and so on and so on . get it?.

  • How can someone say that the evolution is false? even if a "god" make the human ( adan and eva for example) they have sons that go arround the globe and they change into chinesse, americans, mexicans, australian, etc, so that will be an example that the evolution is real and did happend.

  • By the way im not saying that religion its bad i just think that is bad directionated (they miss the point some time)

Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche one say :"Is man merely a mistake of God's? Or God merely a mistake of man's?"

  • Ha! This irritatingly cute little animation is also irritatingly wrong. A watch is not a living thing, so it does not have DNA which forms it. Therefore, mutations and variability cannot occur in a watch, and it will not be able to evolve by natural selection. What a silly way to argue against evolution!

  • Ya, living things are about a billion times more complex. Go figure. The deception of evolution is what is irritating. That people are willing to buy so easily into deception is what's irritating. I live in Utah, it's all around me.

  • I showed this video in class and they all just started laughing...

  • On what authority are they laughing? Maybe its time to find a different class. :-)

  • ah, unfortunatly there are a lot of closed minded people in my class.

But i have to admit that it looks quite ridiculous to compare the universe with a watch.

  • Nature9355,

Reconsider the point of this video. Natural selection removes genetic information from a species, it cannot add info. Mutations likewise are a corruption of pre-existing information. While not all mutations are bad for a species, a mutation corrupts info, it doesn't add info. So, while a watch cannot evolve, either can a single celled amoeba without a mechanism. It can't take 100k bits of information and (using your theory) create more. Feel free to contact me about this.

  • You really don't know much about evolution do you? a single mutation in a gene can radically alter it's function for worse (usually) or for good (rarely, but effectively). Then there is the fact that procariotes, even of different species, promiscuisly exchange genes, even incorporate other procariotes to form symbiosis which lead to more complex creatures... Do this for a couple billion years and voila...

  • I don't believe in any god but I am impressed that the Vatican and the Anglican churches have people of sufficient intelligence to understand that evolution is proved and are now claiming that god did something more wonderful than create life but created a universe in which life could create and modify ITSELF.

  • Wow, so the Vatican represents truth now does he? Or could he be as misguided as all the other evolutionists that think evolution has a leg to stand on? Too bad these comments are restricted to 500 words or less, 'cause I'd ask you 'what proof again?'.

  • I don't get what you mean.

  • epparry,

Where is this proof exactly? If this is still not backed by observable sciences then it is no more than speculation. You are correct in stating that God created all things and also allowed life to mutate, adapt, and follow the process of natural selection. Of course none of those just mentioned add to genetic material or information...which leaves one other explanation for its existence, God. An intelligent designer...the watchmaker.

  • Amazing video, no wonder God says He has made Himself known clearly through creation and conscience and on judgement Day all will be "without excuse" How will you do on that day NeedGod dot com

  • Stupid "argument" the clock. First of all: As many others say its not a living thing, it doesnt fight for surviving etc. etc. so u cant compare them.

But ok lets take the clock: you clame when you see a watch your conclusion is there must have been a designer. wrong. there must have been someone who build it.

  • the design, how the clock works, the small pieces etc., all this was also a part of an evolution. there wasnt a man who just invented a clock and it was perfect. it was by try and error over the centurys- and today we have such a complex thing, but it started also simpel. like a plane, a car etc.

so THINK about it, believe is good but with open eyes.

  • Why question the Bible? All old books written by ancient, superstitious, incestous goat herders are true. Thats completely undenible. Screw science.

  • The implication of course being; that the Bible somehow contradicts science... Oh wait a minute....That's just a common misconception skeptics use.

  • No the Bible contradicts deception and assumption. Evolution is not science. Just because that is what you were taught, doesn't mean its true. Bible = Evidence

  • Science provides evidence of the Creationist theory -> many areas such as Thermodynamics, Biology, Physics, Geology, Astronomy, Pathology, etc, over 2k years ago (the bible sustains perfectly consistant accuracy over all subjects)

  • therefore arbisea is completely right; the bible contradicting science and vice versa is an atheist way of saying i can't argue against truth therefore i will make stuff up instead; the bible and science are greatly related-> science restates what the bible says on many occasions.

visit fishdontwalk dot com and click the science and the bible link to see the whole arguement and the relationships between science and the bible...

  • marlboroman1985,

Sarcasm means very little when it comes to backing assertions OR giving valid reason for your mocking. Let me ask you... Do you 'know' whether the Bible is a Divine work or not? Have you ever tested it? How can you know without testing it yourself? Do you know how to test it for something like that? Anyway, if you actually want to hold a conversation, not just another bout of the same, feel free to contact me.

  • You can't argue logic and reason to the fanatical.

  • true, true. guess that's why you didn't get it, huh?

  • Riverwolf001,

Fanatics are found in all camps, both enemy and friend alike. Even among some who claim logic for their beliefs are swayed by emotion and confusion. Some even hold a fallacious understanding of logic itself. Anyway, such a statement as you made can easily swing back around on you. Not to mention, it is not true in all cases. A fanatic may indeed be correct in his beliefs and still be fanatical. The label itself does not then imply right or wrong.

  • I just hope scoffers would be consistant in their skepticism and views Al Gore's comic book notions of nature's cycles with the same critical eye. If one is absolutely sure that there is no grand design by a force beyond our comprehension able to produce such a miracle as life, then surely they would be just as certain that nothing as puny as mankind could bring complete devastation to a cosmos we neither designed nor control.

  • God knows the answers to all your questions, and He'll reveal them to you if you read the Bible and ask His son, Jesus Christ, to come into your life, to forgive all your sins, and thus allowing you to draw close to God and have an intimate relationship with Him, confessing your sins and that you truly believe that Jesus is God's only son who died upon the cross and rose again. He loves you MORE THAN ANY OTHER PERSON ON EARTH LOVES YOU. Life doesn't get any realer than that.

  • Do you umm know how evolution works in "theory" I doubt it. maybe if you check up on that I will hceck up on the bible. Nevermind I dont want to read that crap. What sucks is in my beliefs you may never know you were wrong

  • You may ask why so much evil is happening in the world today is He is in control: well, God gave His people, His children, FREE WILL when He created us, so that we could CHOOSE to love Him, CHOOSE to do good for others. Real love isn't forced. God CAN do anything He wants. He controls the ultimate destiny. It's just up to us how we get there.

  • That's a pretty convenient answer. In fact, I hear it often, yet I'm never presented with any evidence as to what makes people believe that specifically. Why do you believe that God gave people free will? What passage in the Bible are you referring to?

  • EVOLUTION is 100% ABSOLUTELY FALSE, BOGUS, MADE UP, AND HAS NOT ONE SHRED OF REAL EVIDENCE. The Bible is truth. Everything in it lines up with scientific evidence of the world's history. Nothing about evolution lines up or has an ounce of real evidence. Instead of taking what the schools and the scientists are handing you, dig into the history and evidence yourself. They don't want others to believe that there is a loving Creator who has power over us all.

  • Haha! If you need a designer to explain life, how do you explain the designer ?:)

It just "formed itself" ? Laughable! :D

  • Oh man, a non-living man made machine is totally comparable to a biological self replicating, self mutating, and self adapting organism. It's so obvious, why didn't I see it before!?

  • actually a watch is a million times more simple than a human being. that is why the idea of a watch gets built by chance can lead to you seeing how even more impossible is a human being being made by chance.

Why not read the new testament and see if there is anyone more wonderful than Jesus.

  • Well, now, the funny thing of course is, that nobody claims the human being sprang fully fledged from nothing... Except creationists.

The rest of us know that life started with a simple amino acid.

  • im sorry but we were not amino acids becasue peptide Bonds, which are bonds between amino acids that are necessary to make proteins, cannot form in water, in the presence of oxygen or in UV light, so where did life originate? that's right. from an almighty creator and designer named God.

  • You still go back to nothing with the deception of evolution smart guy. Where did the amino come from? And how do you know this again? Because that is what you've been taught all you life? Certainly you don't know it based on evidence, because if that was important to you, you'd be a creationist to.

  • and were did this simple amino acid come from???

  • CapnOrdinary,

Are you implying "might makes right"? Is truth not more important than that? Consider your amino acids theory which is both unobserved and logically unsound. If such a thing sparked "life" it lacks an observed mechanism for information gain. Seeing as evolution (in this context) is without a natural process that produces orderly information (ie: observable genomes, etc) the idea just falls apart. Might I recommend AnswersINGenesis-ORG for more information on this.

  • Problem #1 - if the designer is the christian god, then that is a bad comparison, since the christian god wants a personal relationship with its creation. If a watchmaker wanted a relationship with people who bought his watch, he wouldn't send vague letters from centuries ago which were not to them, nor would it send only messengers to tell the person what he is or what he wants. He would call them on the phone, knock on their door, show himself the way his watch was shown.

  • Everyone recognizes that an analogy can only go so far. Therefore, for this argument you have to abandon the watch analogy (since people are not watches) and ask how an invisible God could relate to humanity. According to Christian doctrine, God did indeed take on human flesh and appeared among us.

  • Okay, explain how a computer was designed, but don't tell me a humane made it. How did all the information come together to make such a complicated thing?
