  • nice rig keep up the good work :)

  • Wow, what a rig!

  • nice cable management hehehehehee

  • That is one beast of a system :D Will we be seeing an update video?

Thanks for the friend request buddy.

  • @PC4Free Thank you. Well, hopefully sometime next year or so when I upgrade my video card. That is my number one priority for this system right now as I need to jump on the dual-GPU DX11 bandwagon...

No problem. Always glad to keep up with my fellow hardware enthusiasts. :)

  • I have that exact same router at 1:10

  • @Ultravideoslave That's my cable modem lol. It's on rent from my ISP. It's the Motorola SURFboard SB5100 Cable Modem. I didn't show my router in this video but I am currently using the D-Link DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router.

  • ah ok nice work for a fast job :)

  • decent but whats with the cable management ?? :(

  • @steveocrossfire As mentioned above, this build was done as quickly as possible. I rushed to get this video posted.

  • nice rig there :D

  • Cute desk

  • Looks like you have quite a few nerds following you "Razear" Good going :D

  • Thanks for the video response Good Luck!

  • can u just plus the speaker right on the motherboard. will in be compatible. Because i just ordered my speaker and im gonna plug it right on my motherboard. The motherboard i have is a asus p6t deluxe v2. there will be no problems right? Someone please answer me back.

  • @urheadg0ne Yes, this motherboard's onboard audio supports 7.1 channel HD audio so even with a 7.1 surround sound speaker setup (8 channel audio), you just have to connect it to the rear I/O of this board.

  • so is it a deal. ill buy it for 1K!! that sounds good to me and u. ok

so give me the confirmation cuz i have to had in an assigment for class. and guess wat the assigment is...i have to play games and review em. i love game developing.. its very little programming and more playing games..so ill buy it

  • @ThePpppp111 You must be mad. This setup costs over 4 grand buddy. Go back to your Commodore 64.

  • I love this dude! Im a guy from UOIT in oshawa and we use these computers every freaken day! we play games every day! OMG games on computers like these are amazing and cant be beaten. I want to buy this from u man! make me an offer.PLEASE

  • LOL AT the cablemanagement xD thats just trowing it in there ^^ and putting zip ties around it but how do you like the 640 blacks in raid 0 do they perform well because im planning on getting them to :D only 110€ for 2 xD so i think its good bang for the buck ? do you agree ?

  • @HylianFury lulz yeah that was when I first did it XD I just wanted to see if it would POST. Yeah, the WD 640GB Caviar Blacks are the best bang for the buck HDDs you can get right now for preformance. They preform extremely well for the money (check below for HD Tune benchmark).

  • Bro, you have the perfect case for cable management, Do something about it!

    Nice hardware though ;D

  • Antec 1200 owns. I just used that case for my first build. What are your thoughts on the monitor? It looks pretty nice, I'm thinking about purchasing one.

  • The VW266H is one hell of a monitor for full HD beyond 1080p gaming. You're getting 25.5" 1920x1200 resolution (16:10), 2ms response rate, HDMI input (as well as VGA and DVI), in an inexpensive TFT display that screams "gaming". Also note, this monitor does comply with the VESA wall mountable standard. Overall for gaming, you're getting high value for the money. For watching films however, I'd suggest going 1920x1080 for a 16:9 aspect ratio because you won't get any black borders.

  • how much and where?

  • I purchased it at the end of August in Canada Computers when it retailed for $347 CDN (excluding taxes), but currently it's at $330. BTW, you get a price deduction when paying cash with the mail-in rebate.

  • ouch hahah im more in the range of 230 hahah love your system but i gotta say i hate the g15 it feels sooo flimsy and it breaks easly

  • Then maybe you should opt for a 1920x1080 LCD but you'd be getting a 16:9 aspect ratio which is native to DVD/Blu-ray films, unless you could get a deal on a 1920x1200 display. Check out Samsung and LG.

I've been using the G15 for over six months now with no problems....it has excellent build quality and is one of Logitech's top of the line gaming keyboards, the predecessor of the G19.

  • yeah yeah idk deals come and go :S but i had a g15 got it broke replaced it with the newer version it broke then i got the razor lacosa and its still great

  • your gaming rig owns man.

    godly (Y)

  • Hi was thinking of getting two of those HDDs in raid 0. just wanted to know your min, max and average transfer rate

    thanks.

  • Yeah, these are the best bang for the buck HDDs you can get right now for speed and capacity.

I've done a benchmark using HD Tune and here are the results:

    Min: 72.8 MB/s

    Max: 200.7 MB/s

    Avg: 155.9 MB/s

    And in case you're curious:

    Access Time: 11.5 ms

    Burst Rate: 126.6 MB/s

    CPU Usage: 3.5%

  • HDTune is free right?

  • @undeadshooter Correct. It is free for personal non-commerical use. There is also a pro version which you can purchase for $35 US.

  • I have been scared to do raid-0... doubles the chance of info loss.

    I personally went with 2 ATI 5870 cards and the i7-860 stock @ 2.8

  • At the same time, the throughput is theoretically doubled. If you get some reliable HDDs like the WD Caviar Black drives that I have, you need not worry. I also have a 1.5TB external drive for backup. Another option would be to do a RAID0+1 with four drives.

At the time, there were no DX11 cards released so the best option was to get a single dual-GPU card. I would've went with a single 5970 if I were you though, but the 5000 series cards scale very well according to benchmarks.

  • if you have an external hard drive or another hard drive with the capacity of your raid 0 drives combine you do not need to worry about data loss so much :)

  • that what ı call a kickass product

  • Does the Antec have any cable management holes? It doesn't look like the cooling is too great with all those wires and stuff blocking the front area.

  • Yes, the 1200 has plenty. The video shows my rig BEFORE the cable management was done. I had made this video quickly after the build was assembled. I had stated this at 3:08. Now my cable management is A LOT nicer. =D

  • nice desk for the evil looking computer

  • Comment removed

  • You have a sikkkk gaming rig. Best pc in the world. =]

  • good seetup but man turn to the vios side lol with wireless N+ dual band router then u will really have one of de best setups ive seen really goood cpu tho

  • Nice setup! I've got a similar setup, I've got a 920 too and the same Mobo, but I have a Noctua cooler and have a 1 TB Western Digital HD. I use 6 GB of Corsair dominator ram. And I use an EVGA GTX 295

  • U buy a really good soundcard but you are using shity headphones.

  • Nah, the 5H V2 is a pretty decent headset. I have the one that comes with the USB virtual 7.1 soundcard. Check out the reviews.

  • yo dude do you plan on ever getting the Core i7 extreme for this setup one day? it would definitely future proof your system so you wont need to upgrade for many years to come :)

  • No, I am never going to do that. The i7 975has the same specs as the 920 except for a higher default clock speed and an unlocked multiplier. All you need to do to achieve similar preformance is to overclock the 920 and install a fantasic CPU cooler, perhaps even go watercooling. Much better bang for the buck compared to a $1000 processor.

  • Yeah I see what you mean, all the other i7 CPU's cost enough as it is, dont see why anyone should have to pay that much just for a CPU

thats one of the reasons why alot of people choose to go with AMD

  • I've taken a look at the Steelseries 5H V2 headset the other night dude and they seem impressive by specs, not just by looks :)

I might get them some time in future

their frequency response is very close to the Sennheiser HD280 Pro, the ones I have now

the last pair I had were Skullcandy lowrider headphones and they weren't that good, they didnt distort on high volumes but the bass response was quite weak so I couldn't really enjoy listening to music with them

  • @undeadshooter Yeah, the 5H V2 is an amazing headset for gaming, especially FPS cause you can really hear the direction of footsteps and voices. The built-in mic is awesome, slides in and out with mute function. (Rodney also uses these lol)

The HD280 Pro is really meant for music audiophiles.

Yeah, I would stay away from Skullcandy at the moment because they are quite a new company in the market and have pretty much no reputation.

  • Nice song.

  • Shhiit Nice men NICE!

  • pretty cool set up , mines on teh cheaper end but i can stil play just about everything on high , mines E8400 , 2 gb ram at 800 mhz , 9600gt grafic card , and the same monitor vw266h , the new MOD WARF 2 i get at 1600*900 at least 40/50 all on high so its nices , its a little weird since in mod warf 1 i get the same or less fps when the grafics are a litle better on the second one

  • Not this fucking song AGAIN.

People get a fucking taste in music...

  • that card is beast if the antec 1200 case can fit that it can fit a gtx 260 or a 9800 gx2 right?

  • Of course man. The GTX 295 is 10.5 inches in length, and so is the GTX 260. The 9800 GX2 is an older card so I'm guessing it's shorter. Even the 5870, the newest DX11 card, is 11 inches and will have no problem fitting in this beast of a full tower case.

  • hutton is the coolest guy i know

  • very good vid, could you tell me what case that is for ur comp?

  • Antec Twelve Hundred.

  • It's an Antec 1200.

  • My twin brother, we both have the same CPU, motherboard, power supply unit, Logitech products, and Asus Monitor.

Playing GTA IV is so awesome with these types of setups

  • Well, it's orange lol. The Logitech software does not enable you to change the color of the keys but I'm sure there are mods you can find that will allow you to do that. If you look at the Logitech G19 however, the software will allow you to change the keyboard's colors to almost anything you desire.

  • NOOOZZ!! all that gear and then vista? holy smoozle!

hopefully you're gonna up to Windows 7 when it comes out...

  • Vista is a very adequate OS for gaming quite frankly, despite the rumors, very stable actually. My only other choice would've been to use XP x64 but drivers are horrible. I've got the free upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit so it should run very well on this system.

  • nice setup 5/5

  • what's the song? oh and....is the coolermaster v8 EXCELLENT?

  • The song is 'dreamscape'. The Coolermaster V8 is a fantastic CPU air cooler, it will keep your temps low without going watercooling, and it's HUGE.

  • Now that is one very well ventilated machine. What do you call her? =D

  • She's referred to as my geek corner. :)

  • Amazing rig dude! How much is that beast?

  • Total setup is slightly over $4,000 CDN including taxes.

  • please some1 tell me what is the best GTX 260 in sli or one gtx 285

  • Two GTX 260s in SLI is better than one GTX 285. It's pointless to get two GTX 260's though because you can get one GTX 295 which is essentially two GTX 260 GPUs on one card for the same price and better preformance. Remember, getting a dual GPU solution on a single card is always better than going SLI or Crossfire because the preformance is scaled.

  • excatly not the same price ther is a 100 greens difreince

  • Well it also depends where you purchase it and which GTX 260 you're talking about, whether it be the core 216, superclocked, or otherwise. But yeah, two GTX 260s in SLI is definitely better than a single GTX 285 because it's two GPUs and that setup would almost be as good as one GTX 295 but personally I would not do it because 1)either stick with one GTX 260 or get a GTX 295 2)the next generation DX11 cards are being released

  • i talk about gtx core 216

  • NOW ITS TIME FOR CABLE MANAGEMENT!

  • Dude I did the cable management. In the video I hid all the cables, the pics were from before.

  • you notice any input lag on the screen, im really interested in this monitor, but i want a near lagless monitor for FPS and fighters

  • Yeah, I was looking for a monitor that had a 2ms response rate, the VW266H does and it's as good as a CRT's.

  • Oh man thats looks so tight.

    How must it cost man

  • Thanks. The total cost of the setup came to a little over 4 grand Canadian.
