Yeah, but you know what? These systems rarely have good dynamics. They're good to find pointers and tips, but in general a person has to hone their style as an individual. Any girl wants to be treated like a princess, or have a feeling a guy likes her and is seriously interested in her. You do need confidence though to show her this interest. However some guys abuse this for things like just sex, and that can give very depressive feelings to the woman he slept with.

Because the routines are so specific it gets perceived as manipulation. Yeah, but you know what? These systems rarely have good dynamics. They're good to find pointers and tips, but in general a person has to hone their style as an individual. Notice the action words: mostly 'tell', 'ask', or 'listen', somehow. Engaging people and when to engage them offers a whole different set of social skills.

It seems that in the beginning people used canned routines to get their confidence up, but that after a while, the system becomes an outline that each student will fill in with his own personality and traits.

@lmpulse It's often worse than men not being taught. They are usually taught the wrong thing - by mothers, fathers, movies. They can be taught to supplicate, make ill-timed declarations of love, to be non-judgmental (ie. take a lot of crap) or wait for the cupid to magically do all the work. Most men are good-hearted and often lose out to pushy, self-centred types through lack of awareness.

It's a truly sad indictment on modern society when men have to play stupid and childish PUA mind games just to meet and attract women.

It's hard for guys to understand that women don't value 'looks' as much as men do. women prefer confidence and a sense of humour, and on a subconscious level: social value. It seems you've just scrubbed the surface of PUAism, and you probably went into it with negative expectations. No, it's not hard to understand at all that women value looks more than men, because women actually do, but women won't admit looks count because they don't want to be viewed as shallow and superficial.
Go to any bar/nightclub/social gathering where single men and women interact, and you will see that the best looking men almost always are the most successful at seducing women.
