  • LEVEL : ASIAN

  • @EndisNearYou when i lol'ed i had a little bit of anal leakage....

  • @2:17 is just an amazing sound.wtf. It just sounds so alien compared the music we hear now, but at the same, something so familiar, so human.

  • This man has performed the miracle of making a 240p video look and sound good on youtube!!

  • Overtone just makes me love EVERYTHING!

  • Any lyrics?

  • Anyone have an MP3 of this they would like to share?

  • This would be so SICK as the music to the final battle scene in a movie!

  • Overtone Singer

  • The Prime Minister of Mongolia has said that the nomadic lifestyle many of its people have followed for centuries will have all but disappeared in 10-15 years.

  • @coroso4 w w w. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3210457.s t m

  • Vocal fry that sounds like full voice.

Even makes vocal coaches wonder HOW

  • Holy shit.

  • at 4:36 he´s like: "Time to show off!" :D

at 4:39 he´s like: "Oh yeah, dat´s how we do it!" ; )

and at 4:42, the two old guys are like: "We are not amused." -.-

  • Harika

  • a leg impressive musician who can give the Mongolian feeling very intensively.

which is open for new musical experiments. I love. Thank you.

  • yes yes yes! There is nothing this man cannot sing or play with his horse fiddle, check out his part in Armand Amars Home Soundtrack number 18 EPI with a persian singer - veeery beatiful! And check out when Epi is rapping in Stream of Gold at Klangwelten 07! He is also one of the three Violons Barbares! Fantastic as always!

  • Fantastic!

  • ich liebe es das lied der einsamkeit

  • @Lauscher79 jetzt wo dus sagst...

boah ich muss des lied haben nur um auf irgendeinen punkt mit geiler aussicht zu wandern und dann dieses lied anzuhören...

am besten während die sonne aufgeht...

  • This is why you preserve our heritage, this music contains more soul and feeling than any music today

  • @Kakashira85 While I agree with you, I seriously doubt this is YOUR heritage, and if you'll look into Mongolian culture, their nomad lifestyle is still alive and well and isn't where we need to focus our efforts in preservation.

  • @WhereWerebearsBeware way to be a jackass

  • @WhereWerebearsBeware It isn't looking well due to past and present governmental efforts to privatize once communal land pasture. The nomads are being heavily pushed to produce for a larger market to support industry in Ulan Bator and overgrazing is destroying the regional environment and lifestyle, driving many to marginal conditions in the city. I hope you are right that cultural traditions like this music will remain practiced.

  • God damn mongorians...

  • Great music!

  • I am totally amazed with this mans God given talent! I had to analize this for my music class and I watched this 4 times before I could write anything! Totally floored!

  • this was just amazing... 5 minutes of open mouth!!!!

  • THIS GUY SUCKS ! I mean, Bieber is much better... Oh my god, that comment is lame and i should fry on an electric chaiir !

  • @aegisknox lol

  • there must not be much rock n roll where this bitch is from.

  • @blink7777777 You are clearly from U.S, white skin, and your redneck comment also make me think your parents were in fact brother and sister...

  • @aegisknox it's true

  • @blink7777777 Please stop making us Americans look like utter fools without any cultural knowledge or fleeting taste in international music.

  • @HarmonyInResonance well blow me. some cultures are better then others. america owns the entertainment business (film and music), mexico knows how to throw the partys, and germans know how to make cars. its that simple.

  • @blink7777777 wow u cant be prout of own the entertainment business...

most of the music and films deliverd world wide from the usa are just... yeah... brainkilling shit..

you had to search some classic music like this.. this guy is just amazing

  • @blink7777777

I'm not sure how you can think our horrible entertainment industry is something to be proud of, but aye, they've all got their strengths and weaknesses.

  • This is incredible

  • Sounds great. It reminds me of bluegrass music.

  • Does anyone have this in MP3 form? I can't find it anywhere on the net other than here,\.

  • Thats brillian....wow!

  • Why do I find it so hard... to hold in these strong emotions evoked by this... most sacred of sounds. A tear just rolled down my cheek.

  • Hey! They left out the 'c' at the end of Epi!

  • its called a horsehead fiddle, known for the hand carved horse head at the top

  • What is the instrument he is playing called?

  • @picklesnorf101 i'm not sure if it's the same, but the chinese equivalent is called an erhu

  • @picklesnorf101 It's called a Morin khuur --- check it out on wikipedia.

  • WOW ! it's just amazing ! Totally did not know anything about this "overtone singing" but i'm so amazed ! basically, it seems like they can sing any note with this method, unlike our "traditional" method of singing with which people can cover 4 octaves at best

  • this melody sounded familiar and I just realized I've heard it first time in "eyes of truth - enigma"

  • No one better - absolutely the most fantastic musician - who else can sing and play like this?

Also check out his project with the Violons Barbares - rocked up and wonderful!

  • @hyogi4music Ke$ha !!

  • As it turns out, when this guy sings, he becomes the only man on the planet whose voice is deep enough to actually stimulate a woman's clyterus o.0

  • @ThatsFunkedUp ....and a woman can just wonder what those hands can do...

  • This song is on the Hero Soundtrack.

  • @blunderism no its not...

  • @projektnumber8

    youtube.com/watch?v=HCkbfapn-I4

  • well, it is

  • master at work.

  • The last part reminds me of apocalyptica.

  • Thankyou, this next ones a Bowie cover, its called ziggy stardust.

  • If a mountain could talk...

  • @apslusk THAT...

  • Search 'sygyt' & listen to the one titled "Huun Huur Tu at Philadelphia Folk Festival, August 2006". He pulls of some of the most beautiful sygyt I've ever heard!

  • @abscoob It's called 'sygyt' & that isn't a lame description at all. 'Sygyt' means whistle!

  • I think the subtitle says "epi" marin kom. That could either be the performer or the song title

  • @freejazztampa Epi is not the songs name, and the morin khur is the name of the instrument in mongolian I think. Epi is the name of the guy, short for Enkhjargal Dandarvaanchig.

  • can someone please tell me the name of the song?

  • I'm addicted to this song as one is addicted to pure awesomeness. Although I admit this very high pitch singing isn't really my style. But the deep vibrations truly transcend everything.

  • @Aristoteles83 you should check out the jazz version of the same artist with several others - and rapping in the end of the song! Search for Streams of Gold at Klangvelten 07!

  • 25 peoples listen to Katy Perry.

  • @aleevok Whats wrong with Katy perry :/

  • When he hits that low note, my goosebumps raise my hair so much, it starts from my head all the way down, wooo.

  • One word: control!!! Amazing.

  • it sounds demonic

  • @qlaff45 Sounds heavenly to me.

  • @coelhoigor It sounds beyond heaven and hell to me ^.^

  • How do 24 people dislike this? It's incredible.

  • @jrartistic They must not be able to maturely handle extreme jealousy.

  • It reminds me of Bathory's "Hammerheart" by the way.

  • This is Mongolian "urtiin duu" or "long song" where each word is drawn out and sang long over something like 8 sec or so. The whole song consists of about 3 sentence. starting from 4:35 or so, when he says "CHOA" which is similar to "hoa", an noise to make a horse gallop faster... so that last part resembles a galloping horse. each note resembles the hoof hitting ground, you can distinctly hear where the horse is making turns and slowing down and such.

  • sounds like a throat-singing version of 'House of the Rising Sun'.

  • @OurTotemIsARaven I heard it, yeah it relates more to it than the hammerheart song, but either way this song is very unique for it's genre.

  • Is that a mandalin

  • ONE QUESTION PEOPLE(Don't answer Mongolians. it's easy for you)

    Question:

What do you feel, What do you imagine from 4:35-5:15

  • Wow!!!!!

  • Hey anyone know who these are? its actually pretty beutiful :)

  • Simple yet complicated..just closed my eyes listining to this and it took me into a trance..there is so many levels in this music..

  • Better quality video here: watch? v=PHjiWgjeQjM

  • @norz hahaha, thanks you know what i did, i played both at the same time, i was lucky to get it right on, and i couldn't tell the difference, lol.

  • Does anyone know what that type of hat is called?

  • @UpcomingJedi mongolian traditional hat

  • Whoa. How low did that note get?!?!

  • 1:41 What an impressive note! Beautiful.

  • Phenomenon.

  • does anyone else get goosebumps when he hits the lowest note possible in this song?

  • @AvengingSucks666 I do!!! :D

    Really proud 2 be mongolian

  • @AvengingSucks666 offcourse!!!!!!!! Me!!!!!

  • 凄い味のある音色

  • This is the best music ever.! WOW

  • The most ancient, oldest music seems (to me at least) to be the most powerful.

Why? Maybe it has something to do with music being a passion then. Not a business.

As the times have changed, we have lost music's true value. In doing so, it feels as if we have lost contact with our deepest self.

  • @PancakesoftheLove The further back you go the lower the pay was for musicians, so in turn the more the songs were written for the passion of music and expression and not cash

  • Song of peace and life....fantastic

  • If you living in the LA, i could see this real on during Mongolian Festival. On 4th June 2011 at City Hall, Los Angeles

  • That's the sound with respect to mother nature

  • like 10 octaves of range

  • This video is so amazing.. Im not sure what this song is about. But i think it is something painful experienced in life...

  • this guys should make a metal song! lol or get this track sampled with metal! would be awesome

  • @DHSNAKE You should listen to the song Spirit of Mongolia by Ego Fall.. They use elements throat singing..

  • FUCKING AMAZING, THIS IS!!!!

  • I don't usually say this, but this guy is just...the man.

  • The Monster Energy drink that he consumed right before the concert apparently kicked it around the last 60 seconds of his routine. There's gypsy violin players throughout Romania and Bulgaria who would kill to be able to fly across the strings like that.

  • @dancingwithcalvin Sounds like you have major hate issues. I'll have my secratary send you a nice fruit basket and a singing dancing gorilla. Perhaps that will cheer you up mate.

  • That was so fucking awesome

  • including overtones thats about a 4 octave voice

  • This is so beautiful, it nearly made me cry. Just breathtaking.

  • I came.

  • Can someone confirm the authenticity of the chant as a genuine folk song? The description didn‘t help on the matter.

  • @Miganiya It is authentic .

I've seen this guy perform live way back in 1999 in mongolia.

  • Incredible! Beautiful! Amazing!

  • Country Blues doesn't have anything on this...

  • man he just went crazy at the end

  • singing with this videorecord teached me overtone. mmmmmmmmmAAAAHHH~ now I need that string instrument and that cool hat

  • Absolutely amazing

  • @abscoob sygyt

  • omg o.o really really amazing!!!

  • Bet Yo Yo Ma also finds his bowing fascinating.

  • EXTRA

  • how does he get so low? Is this a throat singing style?

  • @lukeyouknoww yes.

Say ahhhh, then slow it down and get the sound to come from the back of throat.

  • sounds very chinized !!

  • DAMN thats great! I'm hooked, need more! Absolutely amazing music.

  • That instrument at the beginning is amazing!

  • 2.14, i cannot believe a human voice just made that noise!

  • 2.14, i cannot believe a human voice just made that noise!

  • I'm totally speechless! What a wonderfull gift! :)

  • omg! awesome!!

  • Amazing, simply beautiful. Thank God for the internet..... and YouTube. Bieber, Cyrus, Gaga, Caca and the likes is all garbage for the gullible mass.

  • hey, I heard that melody in some "Enigma" - song!
