1983. "Mr. Butch and the Holy Men." He played guitar, accompanied by 2 other guitarists. They wore identical t-shirts, with block letters on the back. On Butch's shirt it said simply: FUCK YOU. On the back of the 2nd guys shirt it said: FUCK IT. On the back of the 3rd guys shirt it said: FUCK OFF. They played one song, which lasted about 25 minutes. It was called "Hambone Man." The lyrics went: "I'm a ham-bone man... I'm a ham-bone man... I'm a ham-bone man..." Over and over to infinity.

RIP Mr. Butch. You were an icon of Boston, touched thousands of lives, and will be missed, more than you will ever know. Gone is another vestige of the Boston I grew up in. There will never be another, Godspeed Mr. Butch, i hope there are plenty of Forties, and spliffs in heaven!

When I was a Freshman, Mr. Butch was known as the King Of Kenmore. He would stagger around with his long dreads, and had "Fuck Pussy Vagina" Scrawled on the back of his jacket. When I moved to Allston, he was there as Mr. Butch. I am lucky enough to have two friends who let me know of his passing this morning. Mr. Butch, here is to your amazing life, and the joy you brought to countless stoned and drunk Allstonians!

Back in the 80's I was in a band called RuffMix and we did a couple of double bills with Mr. Butch's band (The Holy Men). I swear , He is indestructable!
