While Firework may be an inspirational song, it is VERY overproduced. It shows that Katy can write and that's all. The electronic beats and synths bother the hell out of me and her voice just doesn't sound real. It's not just FW that sounds overproduced. Listen to OotB then TD and you have to notice. @Rohnon lol, I know how you feel. Back during OotB I was happy to be a Katy Perry fan, although I still am a fan of hers, it is just harder for me to be one. She had a lot really great tunes that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to (and I still do). She was a great pop rock artist and she was so unique, everything from her personality to her music. However now her music is just like everything else. It's mainstream, catchy, generic pop and it just uninteresting tbh and like you said it is a shame.

@Rohnon lol, I know how you feel. Back during OotB I was happy to be a Katy Perry fan, although I still am a fan of hers, it is just harder for me to be one. She had a lot really great tunes that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to (and I still do). She was a great pop rock artist and she was so unique, everything from her personality to her music. However now her music is just like everything else. It's mainstream, catchy, generic pop and it just uninteresting tbh and like you said it is a shame.

The reason she chose mannequin for the song is because(in my opinion) mannequins are often seen as lifeless, hollow shells devoid of emotion and thus can seem very sad.
