@OmarPepperyNutz He'd never seen the simpsons movie before and it wasn't until after he wrote the book that he was told it was similar to the simpsons movie. He started writing it way before the simpsons movie came out.
@OmarPepperyNutz That wasn't me. That was someone else. Please ignore it. My last comment was about the fact that people have talked about this kind of thing before. Ben, if you are reading this you aren't part of this conversation. Please stop commenting here.
@OmarPepperyNutz Watch "Bestselling Author Stephen King Talks About Under the Dome". In that video he talks about his ideas for under the dome starting a long time ago. If you believe him, and i do, it will clear his name.
To be honest, I was really disappointed with this book. It was really slow going with more gore and violence than he normally puts in his books I think. I tried so hard to read it, but it was gory death after gory death chapter after chapter after chapter; I eventually tired of the monotony, read the end and then donated it to the thrift shop.
is it me or did stephen king rip off the idea of this book from the simpsons movie

@PipBoyInfinite I think thats not accurate. What are the odds that two completely differnt people pretty much had the same idea for a story.

@OmarPepperyNutz Its not like its a crazy, out-there idea. A lot of people have talked about this kind of thing before.

@PipBoyInfinite Sure, maby the idea of total isolation from civilization, but not the exact details of putting a giant dome over a small town.

Also, if you can find it, watch borders' interview of stephen king about it. He actually talks about the simpsons movie in that one.

is it only me that the reading sounds so horrible, so amateurish?

@csarmii yes, it's only you

I think this will work better as a mini-series than a movie, bc is so big and you wouldn't want to miss a lot

So my question is, who had the idea first, the simpsons or stephen king?
smokeordieganja 6 months ago
@smokeordieganja Stephen King
Don't even THINK of associating this AWESOME book with that mediocre movie
UTD is WAAAAY better, read it and you will agree
Myytmovies 6 months ago
@smokeordieganja He actually says in the book he's been working in that idea for more than 20 years.. but the idea was just too big.
