  • That was embarrassing.

  • No one bitches about an orchestra playing always the same Mozart stuff, why should we bitch about lack of originality in a great singer taking on a great version of such a legendary rock masterpiece? I must have missed something...

  • ooooooo,jesus,Ian where is?

  • I know this song is awesome but nobody can perform it as good as the old deep purple band did, they sing it better. nice try

  • Thank you for uploading this - I loved it. I hope one day to be able to hear Steve live, but clips like this are wonderful in the meantime.

  • omg i didn know hw sang this! wow amazing :D x

  • Ok,..I'm turning into a fan here.I'm going from one video of Steve to another, and so on,..and.man,can this guy sing. Oh,and to DogBoy,..Sweety,..never fear that will happen.Great music will always stick around.Just look at the Wizard of Oz! HeeHee! How many people since 1939 still sing those songs(in their hearts anyway),and still make sure their kids see the movie,..just so it wont get lost.Just an example of how music sticks around if it's worth keeping. And most real music is in the end.

  • I love Deep Purple but this is Wow!! Great voice!

  • Guys, in my opinion we should just be grateful someone under 50 is still playing this music. I was afraid it would be forgotten in the backwash for the 100th iteration of Lady GaGa.

  • @Dogboy27712 , but this is just another 'classic' rock cover... No originality here either...

  • @spitfirefrench Not sure you can call it a cover when one of the performers is a member of the original band, Jon Lord, vocalists performing to his arrangement. And performing it fantastically too in my opinion

  • just wanted to reply 2 comments here. For one Steve B, adores & totally respects GIllan, says he's a total inspiration to him,& is the Master, so he is totally humble regarding those that are true Rock Legends. Steve is amazing live,Childline Rocks @O2 last yr, he was up there with them all. He is a versatile singer,& just does Child in his own way, not tryin 2 imitate anyone. World tours with Jon Lord must say s/thing about the way voice &music marry up as they do ,fab to be there. Awesome.

  • I love the song Gethsemane and Gillan, Neely and Balsamo all nailed it...no pun intended. Each singer is unique. All three are incredible. However, there is something about Balsamo that is ethereal...Is he a rock singer? You bet. He's got something that I have never heard before...and believe me I have been listening to music a very long time.

  • This sounds...Really weak. Balsamo's really not very well-suited for this kind of song. But then, I don't like his version of "Gethsemane" either, so...His head voice is too weak; he's not tilting the epiglottis enough to sound powerful.

  • @Lethkhar2000

Don't be interested in music please. Go outside and play ball.

  • Fantastic singer but backing singers

    carrying a lot.

  • @77pob Kasia only harmonizes on the ahs. But I know for a fact that Steve Balsamo can reach those really high notes himself. I know, because I've heard him and heard him hold them for like ever!

  • he`s not a rock vocalist

  • .

Balsamo definitely IS NOT a rock singer. However, it is a great singer...No doubts about it.

  • This is NOT the Child In Time we know and we love. This is poor cover... He didn't manage to replace Gillan's Gethsemane, and he didn't manage to replace Child In Time, as well...

Gillan WAS, IS and WILL BE the ONLY ONE who can make the audience go crazy emotionally, by his singing... All other cover versions are simply ordunary songs... Gillan has the huge emotion, power, excitement and SOUL in his singing...

  • haha ... balsamo is piching perfectly ... ian gillian is not , and he can`t even sing this song anymore ... come on boy ... ian gillian is not the only singer in this world ...

  • @Freja6185101 No, but in this version we can hear a female and a male singer doing what gillan did alone before...

    Gillan was the best...

  • @felipetordek

Totally agree with you! Gillian was the best! Even if he can't sing this incredible piece anymore, he wrote it and sung it to perfection! That's why he is the man!

Epic fail for 2 singers, who couldn't approximate sing this song!

Fuck the world, hail and kill!

  • I gather you are a Gillan fan then ? lol

    Steve Balsamo rocks-BIGTIME !

  • wow Steve Balsamo!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • solo Gillan puo cantare Child in time

  • thanks for sharing

    its amazing :)

  • I'd like to see this dude sing more heavy metal, hard rock songs with his voice.

  • Ian gillan is the best!!!

  • i'll see it in less than a Month!! :P =D

  • Jon Lords solo rocked, as always! The singer is just GREAT! But the guitarplayer.... probably not his cup of tea ;)

  • Awesome vocals from Steve. Perfect, as usual. He's so versatile, just incredible. Thanks for this, love it. Bx

  • @telbridget I agree with you. Steve is incredible. I have never in my life heard a voice such as his. Can he sing rock? You bet! Jon Lord knows what he is doing to be teaming up with Steve.

  • Amazing to hear Steve singing Deep Purple....amazing!!

    Thanks for posting this ;-))
