  • what are your brush settings??

  • this tutorial is awesom dude :D

  • ..... why haven't you guys changed Patricks pants yet? haven't you heard the complaints? it wouldn't be that big of a deal if you move that front flower.

  • CartoonSNAP, can i scan a drawing into my computer and then make the line thicker using Adobe Illustrator and can i make the lines one thickness?

  • @connect121 Yes, you do all of those things...you just need to change the brush settings or use the pen tool. Have fun!

  • so like how are you doing that brush stroke

the thick and thin type deal

  • @Qwaybabii Check out video #3 on brush settings...it shows how I get the thick and thin line. You need a drawing tablet, too.

  • what are you dong to make your lines smooth once you've drawn them?? Is it a program or can you do it with illustrator?

  • @landis346 You can control the smoothness of the lines in Illustrator. In one of the first few videos ion this series, I share all my settings so you can get the same effects!

  • exactly what version of adobe illustrator is this?

  • @sallyprue I'm using Illustrator CS4 in these videos, I've used the same techniques with Illustrator 10

  • @CartoonSNAP okay, thanks for replying. may i ask if you're using a mouse or a tablet?

  • @sallyprue I'm using a tablet...it's not possible to use this particular technique without a pressure-sensitive tablet. You CAN achieve the same effect, but it involves manipulating the width of the strokes one by one.

  • @CartoonSNAP damn, that sucks =(

well, i'll look into it. thanks xD

  • what kind of illustrator are you using.. theres any link that i can download illustrator for free? i really want to learn the illustrator... THX

  • Which version of Illustrator is this? Where is the medium brush setting? I'm just learning illustrator.

  • @MrsArtsy I'm using Illustrator CS4 in these videos, but I've used the same techniques with Illustrator 10 . There's more info on the brushes (including downloadable template) on my blog -- you can find the web address at the start of video #1 in this series

  • @MrsArtsy actually, the link to the template w/brushes is in the description box right under the video

  • @CartoonSNAP I tried to download it and it didn't work. I right clicked. I just get a page with code.

  • @MrsArtsy Hi...If you send me a private message with your email address, I can email it to you as an attachment

  • thanks for your great tutorial~

It is very informative and easy to follow~

  • Hi Shutterwill...thanks!!

  • wow thanks for this tutorial!!! Would you happen to know how to apply pressure sensitivity and make it affect the opacity? for example pressing lightly: opacity 50%, pressing hard opacity 100% ???

    thanks
