Worship leaders and pastors today who lead their congregations away from this type of singing do not realize what a disservice they are doing to their congregations. The introduction of rock-and-roll and country elements, bent and slurred notes and soulful twanging do nothing to magnify the Savior.
Being "soulful" is accomplished in different ways. Bending notes is how the world does it. If someone wants to sound like the world, they would do it the same way.
@AmosPressley but thats the thing you're bringing whatever the world does and automatically making it sinful which is not the case. Bending notes IN KEY and keeping them in tune takes a good ear and lots of talent, and there is nothing wrong with using your talents for the Lord. And on another case your making a sin out arbitrary matters like bending notes. Please, saying that bent notes are sinful and worldly is like me saying that you being on youtube is worldly

@AmosPressley I truley, truley feel sorry for the person who thinks that a bent note is of the devil. You my friend have been decieved.

The devil? Who said anything about the devil? If you are going to disagree, at least quote me correctly.

@AmosPressley ok, but there's absouletly nothing wrong/unscriptual with being soulful with your music that you dedicate to god

..what is the title of the song they first sang??
josoa89 2 years ago
@josoa89
The song began with a sort of intro to the medley.
The first song is called "When We all Get to Heaven."
The next is "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms."
Restatement of the intro.
The next song is "Since Jesus Came into My Heart."
Medley ending.
