  • What kind of lighting is that? Excellent tank

  • what kind of light do you use for this tank?

  • it's funny how they seem to follow you around

  • Very beautiful cichlids you have there. I have alot of the same ones, check mine out and please sub back

  • Ive heard the best way to keep cichlids is to make caves out of river rocks and porvide hiding spaces. But in big tanks like this with many cichlids I see tons of cichlids and minimal hiding spaces. How would you suggest I keep them?

  • what is that i see underneath your tank....another tank?

  • All males? How are they not killing each other? I have 3 males and 10 females in a 90 gallon and the males constantly duke it out.

  • @taijiangah your males are fighting constantly to win over your females. As im sure you know, males are generally more colorful than females. So one way peaple make really colorful tanks is to get only males. If there are no females in the tank, the males dont fight as much. They still may but the best ways to keep them from fighting is to keep only one male of each species.

  • sausage fest lol

  • This is great man! I love how your rocks are so sparse, making the fish the focal point of this tank. And I guess with no females they have no territorial issues. I wish I could use this same method, but I already have some females and none of my suppliers are able to sex the fish (typical LFS bullshit.)

  • hey when you put in them big rocks, do you have like a flat base that you put them on or it just go straight on top of the sand??nice show tank.

  • what are the fishes with 3 black spot on them???????

  • @StraightFlint they are blue moorii dolphin,i have 2 and they are lovely fish.

  • this is a beautiful tank! does keeping just males together eliminate aggression? considering they are cichlids, i imagine there is still a little. But just curious, have a cichlid tank that i set up, put 4 small cichlids. 2 look like males and 2 look female.

  • I like the hidden second tank :-)

  • This is the San Francisco of aquariums.

  • needs a sump

  • Is that a blue dolphin cichlid. Because i have a blue dolphin and it doesn't have a hump above its nose

  • @ahugo75 It is infact a blue dolphin and they tend to get them as they mature.

  • Awesome tank

  • Hey, do you know if male cichlids can turn into females? Cos I think one of mine has either become a girl or come out of the closet, cos his mouth is huge and he aint eating a thing!

  • @tandorla It is not possible for a male to become a female. best thing to do is to check if there are any morphs between males and females of the species. A popular way of finding the gender is to vent, you can look up how to do so. Be careful though as stressing the fish can lead to eggs being dropped

  • HONESTLY probably the best tank i have seen thus far on youtube. i am a fish nerd and decorating is great for the fish that you have and great assortment! ... thank you :)

BONUS on the copadichromis super job dude ! haha MFK

  • HONESTLY probably the best tank i have seen thus far on youtube. i am a fish nerd and decorating is great for the fish that you have and great assortment! ... thank you :)

  • very beautyful

  • one of my favs. love it!

  • very beautiful.

  • awesome fish what kind of catfish is that at 1:38?

  • Incredible tank, and I love the music. Fits so well.

  • beautiful fish + setup

  • Nice tank man, I tried sand but switched to seashell the sand was really hard to clean.Props.

  • Check my video out , its has much more florescent colours and big fish

(list of the names of fish in the description)

  • are deep water haps easy to breed

  • @brandon112350 depends how many females with the one male, the more females with the male the better and quicker it is to have fry.

I just got a male turkis peacock and i put 6 females with it .......3 are pregnant

  • @MidnightGaming14 thanks

  • F8Lbiteva, i think your show tank is perfect, the best part is the low or zero aggression! and to TonyMontana011, you DON"T want to put females in this type of set up! because you would be breeding mixed species and that is NOT GOOD practice Tonymontana011!!!! Tony, google... species specific breeding problems with African Cichlids in captivity! also google.... Destroying the African Cichlid species in your mix breeding tank experiment. lol!

  • wooowwwwwwwwwwww

  • Do you have any agression problems? I noticed that with just few exceptions, the tails and fins of the fish are ok. So, It seems like everything is under control. I have a 285 all male show tank, but I have some fish with the tales and fins in bad conditions. I moved the few females and the haps from the tank. I only have now the peacocks. The situation improves, but I can see some agression.

  • @UKdave84 I think they would be bad anything really from the wild is bad and prolly has other critters unless you sadly sterilize the rocks

  • Such clean water, good looking fishyz... my guys are still little.

  • at 1:43 what is name of this fish(like zebra)? i have the same too around 3 inches.

  • bute tank mate i am inpressed

  • nice tank

the deco is simple but nice

  • what did u do to the back paint it ?

  • nice tank ,but u need some female in there.

  • u dont need females idiot lol

  • how many african cichlids can fit in a 55 gallon aquarium

  • Very nice selection of fish. Maybe some more caves so they can hide from the light at times. Awesome!

  • nice colourful cichlids ! do u feed them with special food like the color enhancements foods? any tips on how i can make my fish get their colours back? i have 4 red peacocks and 4 yellow (blue face) peacocks but their colours has all faded. :( cheers John

  • Light colored sand and decor fades there colors as well as water parameters that are not up to par. so try adding some darker decor, even black background and check your water levels

  • Love your tank,5 Stars................

  • nice and natural looking,5 stars

  • Nice tank. Blackbackground really pop those colors. you think they might need some caves. Over all very nice placed rocks. this tank ROCKS.

  • It's a nice clean tank, I see that Youtube deleted the audio (Mine too)

  • Thanks bud. Whats up with that? How can I prevent them from taking out the music?

  • awsome tank man.i oretty much have the same thing but less stones. do your peacocks fight alot though?

  • And again a Tony Mingia comes on the board and posts what he thinks would help what is otherwise a great tank setup. Hey Tony....you're not Great! As far as females....did you think he just doesn't want to breed? What a guido! Nice setup and nice cichs....I have them and love them.

  • you need more stones and a 3D Rockbackground, ph 7.5-8.0, 24-26°C, and females females females- it's not like in nature!!!

Or do you wanna be alone in one room without a girl?

  • LOL. like in nature females complicate things. It would cause unnecessary aggression, I have other tanks for breeding this one is just for show.

  • @F8LBITEva Males tend to "buff" their colours alittle, as they want to show all their colours to get the females attention.

  • @TonyMontana011 Is a SHOW tank and the males have the brightest colors and this is not meant for breeding! Plus there would be TONS of aggression in the tank not good seeing nipped fins in a SHOW tank. :(

  • @TonyMontana011 lol more rocks yeah 3d background y? females dont look as good

  • @TonyMontana011 females will make them more aggressive because they'd wanna mate the tank looks pretty peaceful now..

  • @TonyMontana011 it says male display tank for a reason. if he put in females they would all become agressive and ruin the peacefull look of the tank

  • @TonyMontana011 I love 3D backgrounds but they're expensive for large tanks.

  • great aquarium and fish... background and your tank would be awesome

  • Great looking tank! They totally know who feeds them.

  • awesome setup :)

  • I need help bringing down my ph any ideas? i own a 14g tho so might be harder

i need put down ph do i do it by changing water? because i got the made alrdy water and says ph is kinda high still everything else is great

  • if your at 8-9pH your fine cuz thats the pH in the wild, anyways tonaturally lower your pH, you would want to use wood as it makes the water acidic as it decays

  • Wassup hawaiian!

    What island?

  • Not Hawaiian just love the song.

  • These cichlids can't live with salt water..

These fishes are from the malawi lake..in Africa

  • what kind of filters do you use and whats a grow out tank?

  • Hey i was wondering could u tell me some of the names of your more colorful fish you have.

  • Also at 0:51

    what is this fish called??

  • Placidochromis Phenochilus Tanzania

  • Those are sweet!

  • very nice fish

  • what song is it? :)

  • "Somewhere over the rainbow" sang by IZ

  • can u send me one for free pleaes

    ill pay shipping

  • Sure bud!

  • lol thanx

  • LOVE THE TANK!!1 i hope to have as many fish as you... check out my vid

  • Beautiful Haps and Peacocks. How do you keep them from digging up your substrate lol? I got a few that want to excavate my entire 100gallon.

  • Thanks. Oh they do dig! I just fill the holes in during water changes. If you have females in your tank then the males may be making nests.

  • very nice :)

  • im loving it keep it up

  • nice africans

  • Good colours i like it

  • Your Baenschi is amazing!

  • its ok to have all males. i was told 1 male for ever two female.

  • Yes it is ok to keep only males. You eliminate the chance of cross breeding and greatly reduce aggression in the tank.

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, keep them coming!!!!!

  • Also an inspiration for me. I started an all-male with juvies about 4-5 months ago, and of course every other day I find another couple of species that I want! I love the simple style of a few big rocks allowing the focus to be on the cichlids and their coloration. Thanks for some of the advice as well. Jatmon.

  • This video was a big inspiraiton for me to finally set up an african cichlid tank. You've struck just the right balance of stock levels and species to keep everyone colored up and docile. Thanks again for all the good advice about growth and coloration!

  • I met this man the other nite. Gotta be one of the best individuals I've come across in a min. U was wasnt playin when you said all males, you've inspired me to go fishing tonite and kick my females out of the mix. That looks soooo tight!!

  • haha! thanks buddy.

  • Great colours and mixture.

What sort of lighting are u using, cause it really brings out the bluesssss . .FM

  • Thanks everybody, I really appreciate it.

Im currently runing 2 36" flourescent lamps with 50/50 bulbs and a 48" T5 lamp with daylight and actinic bulbs.

  • Very good tank

  • love the song and great looking tank..
