Critical mass is really a celebration about riding bikes. This is the only time that we can safely use the city streets. Last weekend, I watched a city bus drive over a cyclist on a city street. The cars get the streets all day, every day. For three hours, once a month, bike riders get on the streets and ride around. Maybe you should realize that the city you live would be a much better place if more people rode a bike
I agree, this is not an effective way to get people to be car-free. It just gets people annoyed of bicyclists even more and not join them. Stopping traffic and making people late for jobs and events is very selfish. If bicyclists want drivers to share the road then that means they must obey the rules of the road. Please stop being so selfish and making the days of others miserable.
Who's going to have to die before this event has some sort of control to it? The mayor? Someone rich and important. I think this event is nothing more then a public nuisance, everyone involved is nothing more then a bigot.
In a time of such pollution to the world, clogging traffic for hours, causing delays for 10 seconds of fame is intolerable waste of energy. You partake in this event for what reason? To create a car free world on the streets where you can ride freely? Utterly ignorant.

Critical Mass has made me lose all respect I once had for cyclists.
