It's based on peppers ghost effect. Only the audience can see the effect (unless its a double) The technology is based on a glass, or any other semi reflective see throught surface, that sits on a 45 degree angle and reflects a projection or screen. I know cause I've made one myself :)
@jjacks81 sorry about the lack of information... This was released just 6 days ago, and D'strict just (yesterday, actually) did an interview with the reporters in Korea... I will be putting up videos as soon as more detailed information becomes public. :)
the most impressive technology is the very clear 3D holographic display at such a large scale, but I watched the videos on their website and still can't tell if it's real or not.
@selyss12345 replying to myself, there was something off about those 3D demos, the camera never moved side ways so we can see the side of an object. I think the real "new" technology here is a almost completely clear display thats sitting in front of the presenters, and with some clever CG movies, creating a ILLUSION of holograph.
