  • Ladies, I made this tonight. Because I am on a low carb diet I used coconut milk instead of the cream cheese and broth. I also threw in a very SMALL amount of carrots for color, since I did not have the tomatoes. It was EXCELLENT! Thank you so much for the recipe!

  • Subscribed! (Thanks for the vids....can't wait to start learning my favorite type of food. For this Westerner, I've been very intimidated till now.)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry I actually wrote a 450 character comment about curry powder origin from Tamil lang and links to garam masala ..! with few F words..! but.... i..... know it is not worth shit..! sorry..! Just go back to your video and watch from 1:30 IS THAT YOUR GRAMMAR or me..! am a student of cooking to...! I just got a lil pissed off..! thats it..! @gaarasabure MAN/WOMEN SHUT THE FUCK UP IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS THE DAMN TOPIC ABOUT..! SQUIRT ..!

  • Awesome directions! :-) I just finished my first plate going off your video. Though I made a few adjustments since I forgot the Lemon and had to use Garlic Powder instead of the garlic leaves like you did..........turned out GREAT!! Thank You.

  • i made this and it is by far the BEST thing i have ever eatten!....i love indian food! its the best! (im greek, and im just so sick of greek food) but this is amazing! good job ladies! :)

  • You seem like very nice, warm and hospitable people. Is that a common trait of Indians? :)

  • @Metsada007 Lots of friends from India that I worked in Iraq with. Amazing friends and people. :-)

  • you guys are amazing.... my only question is did any one of u eat the food you make or deposit in pest control... chicken n cream cheese anuja thats not magic thats crazy... meat with a dairy product what if anybody dies after eating that.... please guys please cook food dont put cyanide... if you want to learn easy chicken curry in a hurry let me know please... :)

  • @1144hummer lol Learn to live a little. I made some and it was great. Cream Cheese worked out wonderful.

  • i really enjoyed this dish very tasty tho the cheese was a bit strong in it so i think ill use a half block next time i also added chillies yum yum thank you

  • @Justtocommentate : Yes, you can but we suggest adding the Coconut milk right at the end as it should not be overcooked. It will taste different but will still be great.

    Enjoy :)

  • I made this for dinner last night using non-fat cream cheese. I also used a little paprika, cayenne and a pinch of nutmeg to give it some spice. Instead of cherry tomatoes I used a whole can of diced tomatoes (with juice), and added 1/2 can of coconut milk, which was lovely. It did make more liquid than the recipe normally calls for but I like lots of gravy with my curry so I can soak it up in brown rice and whole wheat naan. Absolutely delicious and so easy! Thank you for this recipe.

  • "WELL THE CURRRY POWDER IS NOT FROM INDIA...." (O_o) ya.... they are from AMERICA.. Mr. WASHINGTON invented it..!!!! ARNOLD LIVED ALL HIS LIFE.. DDN FIGURE IT OUT TO SPEAK THE AMERICAN WAY... SUP WID US INDIANS... :p xD

WOOOO My name is renuka jee and AM AMERICAN..!!!! lol GROW UP...!!!

  • @666Kudos

Wow...such strong words. We merely meant that curry powder is not a spice blend common in India (like garam masala). We are not putting down India or Indians. Hope you are having a better day today.

  • @666Kudos lmao... u rock...

  • @666Kudos Sounds like a drunken rant. Here's a life-saving rule: Don't Drink And Youtube.

  • Will this still be good without the gravy? it has way too many calories and fat

  • @Devin1400 : It tastes great even without the gravy :) Everytime we want to make it healthier, we substitute the regular cream cheese with half the amount of non-fat or low-fat cream cheese and compensate the balance of the gravy with chicken broth. Get flavor and less calories.

  • gonna try it.... but i dunno if adding coconut milk will be any good but thats the only thing i have at home in terms of the creaminess

  • @TheGLOSSette : It will give a different flavor but will still be very good :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry thnks that will be the next recipe i try...

  • can u put up more recipes that can be done in hurry? lol

  • This actually look like Thai green curry lol

  • curry is one of my favs - great show and recipes

  • lol i tried it but instead tomatoes??? and before adding the cream flambe with Ricard (pastis) then add the cream and let it cook and it looked much better

no tomatoes , no cheese and the gravey thingie it sucks

  • Can you pls tell me what brand curry powder did you use in this recipe???

  • @renumangatt : Sorry, we have no idea. We had bought it a while back, transferred to another bottle and threw away the package.... :(

    Sorry :(

  • @renumangatt i supose that could be ur choice in wot kinda curry powders u like :) just experiment with it i would lol :)

  • @renumangatt Just use McCormick's curry powder. Kinda Americanized version, but quite tasty.

  • @renumangatt any one will do

  • is there anything i can use instead of the cream cheese?

  • @lalalajujubes2006 : the bulk in the gravy comes from the cream cheese. You can skip it and add heavy cream and a lot less stock.

  • Anuja looks sexy in the video :)

  • i made this, it was delicious

i put tons of peas, chopped carrots and sweet corn, it was awesome

    i also omitted the tomatoes

    try it

  • I think you guys added alot of salt not a little bit :) but why?

  • @Jboy235

We love our salt :) but you can add as much or as little as you like.

  • Wow! After hearing your story I am definitely going to try this recipe!! I think people should think outside of the box once in a while.

  • Hello ladies!

I just wanted to say hello to you and thank you for posting this and all the other great videos you have posted. I really liked the fact that you didn't limit yourselves and stick to the real, original way of making curry and like you said this was curry in a hurry lol but don't get me wrong I love the videos were you guys show us the how to make "real deal" dishes :)

I just love your videos keep them coming please!

p.s. Loved the story of how you discovered this recipe :D

  • so good but not too healthy

  • I am sitting down to eat this and I couldn't help but leave a comment to shout out a big THANK YOU!! This recipe is a masterpiece. I subbed the tomatoes with green peppers/capsicum. simply yum!!

  • @Ziegut

You are very welcome...glad you enjoyed the curry!

  • Hi I would like to know what would you consider a good curry powder? I thought they were all the same. What curry powder are you using for this video please ?

  • @ezzenwife : It's a Curry Powder we got from HerbCo(dot)com.

    :)

  • mmmmmm I'm trying this tonight!!!!

  • @antlerbaby Ok, so I made it. Just to push the limits, Instead of fresh vegetables I used a can of Veg-All :3

The flavor is a bit "one dimensional" and kind of cheesy tasting, but considering how it was made this does not surprise---- I know if I want dimension I can make non-hurry curry.

  • what i dont get is why did you put cream cheese? doesnt it make the dish taste weird?

  • yes, its true that you need to cater to a large audience BUT, I dont think people who dont have time to cook the chicken curry would be here looking for a shortcut recipe. Let them read this recipe on a magazine at check out at the 7/11 where they buy their groceries too. Watching you use cream cheese and curry powder in chicken curry really turned me off. I think the people watching you want the "real deal". My opinion..I am looking forward to your good recipes..not back

  • @Manjulasbiggestfan : have an open mind something can be good even if it not authentic! Cheers :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry And hey, I was a bit turned off by the cream cheese at first, but yeah, you gotta have an open mind. I made this recipe 3 days ago and the result was crazy banana - surprisingly delicious! I mean come on, aren't there like tons of other recipes that uses unconventional ingredients and still turns out delicious? =D

  • @Manjulasbiggestfan Well, I love chicken curry to death and barely have the time to make one. I was so psyched to have found a quick curry recipe - and a delicious one to boot! People who loves curry and do not have time to make it the traditional way would be happy to discover a quicker version of preparing the dish.

  • @Manjulasbiggestfan - if I made a comment (and had a nickle) every time I saw an italian/sicilian, or even non Italian take a short cut with pizza (such as using store brought crust, or SPAGHETTI) sauce.. I would be wealthy and my fingers would be tired. I did this with veggies last evening... nice tip. Open mind, and we are all happy.

  • YUMMMM! All I'm missing is the cream cheese. I'm making this tomorrow.

@Viper, I don't care if it's authentic, I love authentic Indian food, but tasty is tasty whether it's authentic or not, so lighten up.

  • @TheViperAndTheFox the go to east india to eat.there is nothing wrong in adding nutritious ingredients.this is a beautiful dish.i am not saying this to impress showmethecurry chicks lol. i love this yummy, nutritious dish.muaaah girls.

  • I just made this. I used reduced fat cream cheese and added a bit of chili powder. Turned out great. Thanks for posting this!

  • @TheViperAndTheFox

We're so sorry you feel this way. If you've seen our other videos, you will know that we have many many authentic dishes. We cater to people from all walks of life (including people who just don't have the time to make authentic recipes). We try to have something for everyone. If this particular dish doesn't suit you, please ignore it... we're sure something along the way will interest you.

  • You two are too good.I m definatly gonna try this recepie.I have one question (nothing to do wid this recepie).I made a vegetable soup (huge quantity). And accidently put little too much black pepper. What should I do to reduce the effect?I can't put any cream kidda thing as I m on a special diet.

  • @musicmastimagic007 potato, more veggies, :)

  • @musicmastimagic007 : besides potatoes and more veggies you can use sour cream or heavy whipping cream :0

  • @TheViperAndTheFox

you sound so bitter. Perhaps you should post a cooking vlog to show all of us "foolish" westerners how it's really done.

  • Hey, nice improv. (as a dad-cook who often needs the friday night quick fix). question though: that second lot of curry powder ...wouldn't it give it a "raw spice" flavour? or is the short simmer enough? Should I be using roasted curry powder for this?

    Thanks anyway. cool recipe.

  • Its just finishing up on the stove now, smells amazing!

  • I use yogurt and some cashew powder for quick curries and sabzis. It gives it that decadence that heavy cream gives but less calories. Especially with chicken and paneer dishes.

  • Whoah! Cream cheese, chicken broth, and curry powder---for a chicken curry. People from india watching this, must have fainted.

At least you put cilantro and salt. They'll recognize that.

  • i thought you 2 were vegetarians!? Was surprised to see real chicken in a video. I wonder what tofu curry in a hurry would taste like? :)

  • @IglooGirl1 They have a lot of meat dishes :) This is not the only 1.

  • I love the story! Thanks for sharing. Also, a great quick recipe. I'll be trying this for sure.

  • What a great story! Improvisation and "accidents", that's how some of the best recipes turn out sooo good.

  • i just love you guys!

  • Is there another alternative to cream cheese??

  • @ShubhpreetC You could use Greek yogurt... no fat, but thick, dairy consistency! If you do this, I would lessen the lemon juice as the tartness of the yogurt would be there where the cream cheese wouldn't have any tartness whatsoever.

  • @indigolady52 Thankyou so much!! that helps a lot!!

  • so no "adding a pinch of spice to your life" ? lol ... and show me the curry kitchen ?

  • awesome!!!! I drool everytime i watch ur guy's shows. I love you guys. :)

  • Dead chickened!

  • Hatal is real hot!!

  • wow thats look yummy...its also a good option to feed toddlers....thanks both of u

  • can you use shrimp with this dish? looks so yummy:)

  • where do you buy a good curry, here in Denmark is tasteless, i would like an curry with good tast

  • @baelleren Try ordering online. We like Chief Brand Curry or Lalahs.

  • how long have you guys been friends now?? im jus being nosy lol

  • yumm ..gonna give it a try :D thnx

  • yuuummmmy - i have to try it - looks soooo good!!! :) Thank you for the recipe!

  • Hm, this looks doable ;)...I always love your recipes but it's impossible for me to find all the ingredients! And this is so simple! Just one question: would this also work with heavy cream instead of the cheese/broth mixture? Thanks!

  • I love your show. What I really liked about this episode was that you shared a story about how you came to find this version of chicken curry. Us viewers love a good story behind the dish! You both are so beautiful! :)

    Rebecca

  • wow do u guys videotape/produce these yourselves or have someone else holding the camera etc?? looks like a REAL cooking show..

  • can you tell me what spices go in curry powder? thanks

  • k buonooo...!!!

  • hetal, anuja, go and watch titli niihan's videos, they are good like yours! you two are my faves

  • lovely recepie's.

  • There is this Indian rest. in Manhattan, NY call Curry in a Hurry and they have very good Indian curry. Funny that you named your video curry in a hurry.

  • WOW! This WAS quick! I do have a question...I don't like cream cheese...does the gravy taste like cream cheese? I would think the onions, garlic, ginger and curry would mask the cream cheese flavor...but I just wanted to know from you. Thanks

  • @pathu32

It is very creamy but with the spices and broth, the cream cheese flavor is very subtle. In fact, if you didn't know it was made with cream cheese, you'd never know.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry Another option maybe to use cocnut milk as a substitute. Many people from Trinidad (where I am from) and other islands use this method as well. :o)

  • great recipe! definitely create for students with some time on their hands. Curry always seemed so complicated, but this looks great !:D

  • thank you :) i really like your recipes, and the way you present them.
