In otherwords, these early Zionist projects were begun by Jewish communities already well established in the Holy Land. I use the term Holy Land to avoid confusion w/ the political establishment of Ben Gurion in the 1940s. This puts the lie to the racist propaganda of the enemies of modern Israel. Jews have always clung to their Holy Land, though many were forced by those who hate them to live far away.
