Okay. my take on the season 3 finale:

josh proposes. castle cant tke her being with someone else and haveing to witness it, so he tells her that is going to stop shadowing her. she says no to josh and tells castle that she loves him, and they kiss. then its over and we have to wait for like 3 months.

I have a gut feeling that Josh will propose to Beckett in the season 3 finale and I hate to say this but what if Castle witnessed the proposal. I think that would send him over the edge. I think that Kate cannot admit her feelings for Castle because she is afraid of getting hurt and rejected. I think that Kate cares more about the partnership that she has with Castle. What if they got together and it didnt work out, then what??? Castle and Beckett remind of Ross and Rachel and how they were during season's 1 and 2 both had obstacles standing in there way

(Season 2- a rose for ever after) and that she doesnt refer to his past wifes as real but fictional. i think thats why she is scared to tell him and he is scared to tell her because he knows he has competition and doesn't want to lose the trophy, (her)

@MovieWiz15 Maybe Castle doesnt see himself worthy of gaining Beckett's trust and love. Beckett needs to understand that Castle has been by her side since day 1, he is not going anywhere. Yes he left with Gina to go to the Hamptons for the summer but it time to move forward and forget the past. Beckett and Castle both have had there chances to tell one another what they are feeling but honestly they always run out of time or are too late. Sorry that Im rambling

@smileyfan16 no. no. your 100% rite. they did miss their chance many many times. but castle has saved her life many many times. and if you think about it they have told each other that they love one another but they used different words. in season 3 episode 5- anatomy of a murder. at the end martha told castle that if you are willing to break someone out of jaill then that is true love, and in the end scene castle was talkin to espisito about how they would break out together but (continuesNEXT)

@LaHistoire I'd say that he's had feelings for her for a while. You can tell by how he'd react any time he thought that she was in a relationship. I think that what scared him about Demming is that he's the type of guy that Castle thinks Beckett wants to be with. He's serious just like her and that's generally the type of guy that she's dated. That's what makes the interrogation scene in the S3 premiere interesting. You can see that Castle is genuinely shocked he realizes that they broke up.

@82Jaster It's actually been a while since I've watched Castle season 1 or 2, so hence the question, but I definately did notice how Castle was genuinely shocked to find out they'd broken up. Beckett's new boyfriend, I think poses an even more serious "threat" to Castle given that he's a cardiologist. With episode 13 comming up it'll be interesting to see how Castle and Beckett's partnership evolves. If the show survives Castle's "public display of affection" this early on, I salute them.

@LaHistoire In S2 you had that moment when Beckett said that she had plans during a case, so she went home early. Castle immediately thought she was going to see a guy even though she said that it wasn't the case (she was actually going home to read his book in the way that he'd described in the previous episode). You also have the whole fireman incident where he just happened to show up at the same restaurant that she'd mentioned to him earlier. (continued in next post)

@LaHistoire You could be right about Josh. But Castle rarely sees him, which is why I think that he isn't as worried about him. With Demming he would've had to come to the station and see them together since he worked there. That's something that he couldn't handle which is why he left at the end of S2. That's similar to Beckett in that she doesn't seem to be bothered with Gina as she doesn't see her. But the second that she realized that Castle was interested in Natalie she got really jealous.

@82Jaster You make excellent points. :) The "out of sight out of mind" thing definately influences the jelousy. And in season 2 when Beckett said "... now that me and Tom are together..." it struck a chord in Castle as well as when Castle saw them kiss. Oh and the episode where Alexis and Castle are playing poker and she wins and Castle says: "I'm not used to losing" I think that mirrors the situation with him and Beckett. I felt so bad for him. I can't blame him for wanting to leave.

Since the show started Castle has largely only been with women that are very much like his ex wives, highly superficial and people that just generally annoy Castle in the long run. Beckett is very much like Kira in that she's real (as Beckett would say). Kira is also the woman that he was clearly heartbroken over not being with. Interestingly we never learned why they broke up because Castle didn't want to tell Beckett. (continued in next post)

@LaHistoire I think that they broke up because Castle was scared to commit. I base this on Kira mentioning that she knew him back when he was just becoming famous. Which basically means that he couldn't experience fame as a single guy. He's been married since but always to people that he's really not compatible with. I think that's what prevents him from pulling the trigger with Beckett as she would be the end of his old ways.

@82Jaster Being with Beckett would definately change his lifestyle but then again I don't think Beckett would want him to change himself too much, that's not the person she fell in love with. But I also think that Castle is afraid that her feelings toward him have changed with Josh in the picture, and obviously he can't go breaking them up. He wouldn't want to hurt her that way. Or I doubt it. And Kira definately was someone very special for Castle. Maybe his first love, even.

@LaHistoire I'm largely talking about Castle's inability to not flirt with every attractive woman that he sees. Even with them not dating you can tell that it annoys Beckett when he does that. Although all of that might just have to do with him trying to maintain his playboy image. Martha actually brought that up at the end of 'Inventing the Girl' when she realized that he was inviting Rina over so that she could have a friend (Alexis) to turn to and not so that he could hook up with her.

Oh god, I just saw the episode! It's heartbreaking to see castle's face, I even shed some tears! Aish! I agree with what kitten said in one of the other episodes , he's way to pretty! Demming is way to picture perfect, whats the fun with that! Kate and him may be a good mach, but she'll always miss that connection, the sparks that she and castle have. I guess the only reason she choose him is because she thinks castle is just a playboy who won't love her!
