I don't know why I never heard of this fantastic lady 'till 2002 when I was recording some UK radio station. I am 63 years old, I should have known better. The other "Like" comments encapsulate my own feelings about this wonderfull singer. The song that created my admiration for her was "Free Love" Thank you, Jean!
I keep feeling like I would love to meet her and tell her all these exact things she is talking about. I'm so glad she is aware of the importance of her musical era.
Thank you for naming Phyllis Hyman because she doesn't get what she should in terms of talk she was something we will never see or hear again so thank you Jean!
@Chazz I just looked into the tixs- might be able to get to the May 1st show, any chance of a meet and greet to get my cd's/ Lp's signed? ;) Thanks, Larry
Thanks for this post! Jean Carne is one of the singers I use to listen to as a young girl and pattern myself after vocally. I love her rendition of Love Don't Love Nobody.

Hands down one of the best female vocalists, with a gift of vocal interpretation that is second to none. I adore you, Ms. Jean Carne.

I can see her age affected the agility to upper register, but she still could hit any note she feels like it though just harder due to age!

Jean Carne is a true Georgia Peach! She is a real class act. Her voice still sounds as good as it did in her prime. Go ahead Jean!
