  • Another. 1,?,,,

  • Another master piece by Blondie... Words cant express what this band does for me, OMG!!! I wanna go back in time, and be with the woman I chased out of my life, so many years ago... This ones for you, Ill never forget you...

  • 5 guitars. oooooooooooh god.....

  • MAN....everytime i heard this song ..i feel inside of me..you know?...is the magic of GOOD MUSIC..REAL TALENTED MUSICIANS AND YOU DEBBIE ..GOD I LOVE YOU

  • Came here to hear Blondie, your commercial insures that I WON'T be buying the crappy music you're pushing. thx

  • OMG so many ads!! stop!!

  • OMG so many ads. please stop. please. please.

  • Check out Clem Burke's drumming in a live video clip!

It just got put on You Tube a couple of days ago.

Cut and paste the following (to search/find it):

    watch?v=pJ_x8v3lLJk

  • Grew up on this music, great stuff, will always be there

  • Seems to indicate that Blondie came from the NY metro area maybe Union City? YES I know it well living across the Hudson

  • When America used to make things.

  • @Swinefeld What the hack that are u talking about? Blondie is always gorgeous at every subject and also this video is gorgeous too.

  • Great song, terrible video.

  • Great song, reminds me of when I was 18!

  • this song is way to short...love it

  • A great song, and a wonderful memory from the late 1970s.

  • This, Atomic, Heart Of Glass and Rapture (in that order) were my Blondie.

A brilliant time to be a wild-life teenager.

  • this is one great ROCKER!i turn the volumn up so loud my head aches for hours.can't hear it enough either.

  • Eat to the Beat is easily Blondie's best and most underrated album..............yes, I think it's even better than Parallel Lines.

  • god i hate vevo.

  • why do 6 people dislike this?? what is wrong with u, are u mentally retarted or something????

  • sheer brilliance.

  • Kick-ass bassline on this song from Nigel! I love it! And of course Clem's drumming is epic.

  • what year was this recorded and what city? does anyone know?

  • This song is about the building of a great city and the men (workers) who built with such passion. Only for the city to fall into corruption from those in power. What brilliant song, big and bold.

  • Debbie and Nigel Harrison (bass player) wrote this song as well as the two writing one Way Or Another.

Debbie, Chris and Jimmy wrote most of their songs collaborating most of the time.

  • In this video, She has got to have the most "kissable" lips and mouth ever!

  • Amazing how the Union City Dry Dock area are looks today.

  • @damselnlace44 I grew up in Union City there are no dry docks there!

  • @hank1972

    I know, it's actually Weehawken.

Check Historic Aerial web site for to see the changes over the years.

  • @damselnlace44 I know that how area has changed I went back there since I move to Miami in 90. I was stunned. That waterfront area has changed. Funny Union City/Blondie Trivia she made a movie called Union City and also lived there for a bit according to my history teacher.

  • blondie were so cool, how come nobodys cool anymore, how come everybodys crap now...?

I think new music should be banned, we have enough, its only getting worse, lets call it a day.

  • union city is a shithole. i guess all the spics must've seen this video and decided to go there

  • @FRIEDnickels hey go fuck your self asshole

  • wow she even played guitar? i must be a retard.

  • @Dianarocks333 Nope, she just holds one for some reason.

  • @Commiteee hahaha i love BLONDIE.. but I hate it when they do that....

  • @Dianarocks333 She looks good with it so I let it slide, haha.

  • @Commiteee hhahaha well yeah i guess.. thats true!

  • @Commiteee She did learn to play bass guitar around the time she was in the band Wind in the Willows, but she said she wasn't very good at it so I doubt that anything came of it.

  • Хорошая трава, наверно... где они ее только нарвали? :-)

  • Rarely u will meet adorable woman like her nova days!

This what is called Nature Beauty!

  • union city blue without twin towers comon freedom tower give us our passion backxxx

  • The sound and feel of this song represent it's time extremely well. It was a great era for music.

  • How on Earth does this only have 290k views!?

  • Still one of my favs after all these years

  • What is she doing with that guitar? It looks cool, but come on......

  • hardly any hits....but this is still over of my favourite songs.

  • "hardly any hits".....blondie, you mean? not true, at all. four #1 songs in the US in 4 years...at least three more top 40 singles in that timeframe...three platinum albums in a row (when the record industry was in decline). NONE of my favourite songs from this band are the hits, either, except for "Dreaming". so unlike MOST bands, their deep cuts are still excellent. their good songs werent only limited to the singles, like most bands of their era. hence their success, i think.

  • @jas22 "hardly any hits as in 287,252 on youtube"..... compared to other songs with higher viewings.

  • @MrGoldfish1984 ah, of course, sorry. :)

  • @jas22 no probs :)

  • @jas22 True, most chart hits from a band doesn't mean there, their best songs. Every song Blondie put on their albums could of been a hit single I mean look at parallel Line it's like a greatest hits album each song on that album could of been a No1 When you look at the crap out today. Blondie have had 6 No1s in the UK two No2, two No5 and a heap more that charted. Parallel Line was the best selling album of 1979. They were huge in the late 70s/80s they are a very influential group and still R

  • there have been a lot of copycats, but never anyone who comes close to this talent

  • One of my inspirations. Someone I feel extremely close to for more reasons than one! Favorite band forever and always. All of you are amazing. Without you guys I don't know what I'd do. This was the show opener in September... love. Why did you ever leave? :( I want to write songs with you.

  • Deborah Harry and Chris Stein needs to be recognized as one of the greatest songwriting couples of all time.

  • @PorroFirst I know right. And even though they're no longer a romantic couple they're still working together as close friends!

  • @PorroFirst Amen.

  • none of this is there anymore down from Blvd. East. townhouses and light rail adorn the waterfront now.

  • Lovely song.

  • I LOVE YOU DEBBIE.

  • did you ever notice that Debbie Harry looks attractive no matter how she's dressed or whatever?

  • @jasonwheel

    yes I did notice that

  • @jasonwheel oh, ive noticed! very tom boyish here, but you think a few strokes of a brush on that hair, and shed be good enough to bring home to meet mom and dad!

  • Georgous back then , even better today !!!!

    Frank DeAngeli$

  • This has a very uplifting sound.

  • can she play guitar?

  • im from union city! this whole area where they filmed this video is all new condos and resturants wow how shit changes

  • @Juanm678 if you were using Google Map - where do you think the film clip was made ? Where would i look ?

    Thanks

  • @SJS764 look up weehawkin waterfront or edgwater nj it was filmed right off a street called river rd

  • Lips

  • Lovin' the Guantanamo Bay jumpsuit! Class act; class woman; class tune!

  • She has a very erotic mouth and teeth!

  • Thanks Debbie.

  • Love this song. Why can't I see Blondie without a barrage of Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez ads plastered everywhere I turn? UGH.

  • All times high !!!!!!!!

  • this song is great!

  • Deborahs sorrowful metallic edge vocals and Clems awesome drum fills, work perfectly together on Union City Blues.

  • This is like looking through my eyes...Tripping me out! Thanks...

  • This was the shit when I was 6 :) 17 now, I still love it.

  • the part at the end is pretty funny xD

  • top top song, debby cool as a cat

    3 dislikes ? mental

  • SERÁS SEMPRE A MELHOR VOZ, DEBBIE!!! BLONDIE FOREVER!!

  • Lady GaGa has hit the 'dislike' button 3 times

  • Harry's voice I found is really unique. I can't think of another female pop singer that sounds anything like her. Her voice is so ethereal. Like the singing I imagine of a desperate angel.

  • @LTF6161 That's exactly what i was trying to put into words, but i couldn't quiet find the right words. Thanks! Check out her voice in "Shayla" and "Slow Motion" simply AMAZING!

  • Congreatulations Blondie¡!

Enhorabuena from Sud America , Rgentina.

    MatiasarricauPalacio.

  • Very few people can look cool wearing aviators.

  • 3 jealous women

  • 3 people dont know what to do

  • I love her .....

  • That's DuranDuran going past at 1:57

  • what are we gonna do?

  • debbie!!!!!

  • It blows me away that I hear a Blondie song that I have not heard before and it is absolutely amazing.

  • @jeffgrossman I was blown away too when i heard "Shayla" and "Slow Motion" and Youth "Nabbed as Sniper" by Blondie. Detroit 442 is my favorite Blondie track. Its a fair bit more Punk from their earlier days. See if you like them.

  • @boltonox I do like them. Thank you for suggesting.

  • Ohhh what are we gonna' do,

Too many auto-tuned dancers on the radio these days,

    2011 radio blues...lol

  • I saw blondie play at Epsom racecourse last night.Brilliant.Easily as good as the Beach boys.

  • Don't go near guantanamo bay wearing that orange outfit.

  • Debbie's got nice lips.

  • @ Rodon,she don't have the looks either ;O)

  • love...

  • The women i love then,and still do;O)

  • Seem so much cooler!, now im older?!, its funny how you dont appreciate this stuff when your growing up with it?!, the thing is back then!, there were so many good acts!, whats happened to music now?????????....

  • @deansarge Agree 1000%. I grew up in the 70's 80's and i never really thought much of Blondie Until 1 year ago. I came across them on YT. I was blown away how good they were and how many unknown quality tracks they had that weren't released as singles back then. I never realized how stunningly beautiful she was until now either. But as you said, there were SO MANY GOOD bands back then, almost every 2 weeks a new band that cranked came out. Music today is all Commercial crap for 13 yr olds.

  • she was and still is beautiful !

  • yeah gaga do something original!

  • Union City looks like Portland lol in this video anyway haha

  • I HAVE TO SIT THROUGH A FUCKING AD TO SEE A BLONDIE VIDEO FUCK YOU VEVO

  • @blaklodge What the fuck is this pile of glitchy shit called VEVO??? when/how the hell did Youtube become VEVO??????????????? Its slow, has adds, glitches out all the time WTF?

  • the only other singer I can compare to Deborah Harry is Jim Morrison.

    She's the female Jim Morrison

  • @Cadmium77 I have never heard this said before & don't really see it - sorry - but don't want to take it away from you.

  • @wonderlin1

You just heard it said...by me.

that's what I think. She sings like him, turns phrases like him..

  • @Cadmium77 I'm starting to get impressed with your analogy - because Jim was so great, to compare anyone with him, is the ultimate compliment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another comparison is that both were sex symbols.

  • how many lite years ahead was this bunch!

  • And on the second day god created BLONDIE .you are all WEAK.

  • i love this song

  • @AlexisCapri....so funny...lol....or you could sing along and drive your mother nuts like I did when I was a teen!

  • Union City is in NJ and it's on the New Jersey Transit system. The maps of the transit show the color of the link as orange-"To the orange side"-so the guy she's traveling to see is in Union City, NJ via Hoboken NJ or Penn Station.

  • Haven't watched this vid for afew months now. Always brought a tear to the eye. It did not dissapoint this time either! God i miss these days! Really miss seing Frankie and Nigel with them too! Just once before we/ they start kicking off, i would like to see all the original buch back together for afew songs. Gary Valentine TOO! Called all my bets in to go to the R&R Hall of Fame show they were at. Still in the hole over that one. It really made me cry to see them (Nigel, Frank,Gary) not play!

  • Blondie...lo mejor...excelente

  • I am getting old. A Prilosec ad came on when I clicked on this video. Shoot me now?

  • I never thought i would find orange jumpsuits so sexy,...

  • What is the meaning of 'to the orange side" ?

  • @pnt1204

Hmm. Well, Orange and East Orange are cities in New Jersey just to the west of Union City.

Also, the color orange is the opposite of the primary color blue, since it's a mixture of the other two primaries: red and yellow.

Other than that, I dunno. :-)

  • This song rocks!!! I will never understand why Union City Blue and Shayla weren't released as singles on the pop charts. What a lowdown dirty shame. Those were the days- back in the summer of 1979, cruising the back roads of central VA in a '66 Malibu and listening to "Eat to the Beat" 8-track.

  • @pnt1204 wish i was there...

  • Utterly magnificent !!

  • Listen to the space in the intro and then the swooping melancholia pulling tight and releasing you from verse to chorus. This is awesome stuff but I never really appreciated it first time round and I saw this on TOTP.

It seems to have taken on something since then or maybe I'm only getting it fully now - never appreciated the oblique lyrics, never felt the power of it when I was younger.

  • First time i heard this song was in the movie called The Hand. I was just a kid back then but this song always stuck by me. Kick ass song!

  • this song and Shayla....Deborah Harry and Blondie at their best

  • @doobeedoo58 I agree 100%. What I don't understand is why this and Shayla were never released as singles on the pop charts. What a lowdown dirty shame.

  • nauseating ad.

  • BLONDIE ROCKS!!!!!! WOO HOOOO!!!

  • I'm in union city all the time.... UNION CITY BLUE!!!!

  • this is the best music i know. Note to the batery harmony...is very cool. I love the singer to. there not exist any other like she.

  • fuck "born to run" ... this should be NJ's official state song.

  • @tsartodd WTF?

both bands are so fucking much underrated, that's a fact

    but Bruce is Bruce ,

  • kinda chimes aye: ;)

  • Me thinx "The Boss" should respond ;)

  • Notice how back then, you had groups, yes with front men and women but it was more about the music. now, all you have is popstars. Take the focus off of everyone actually making the music and just stare at the idiot in their attention-seeking getups!

  • beauty great voice great songs she had it all

  • Anthemic... This songs summarizes what Blondie was and is... Love, Fun & Perfection!

  • Most beautiful woman in pop and a fashion icon followed by everybody from Madonna and Lady BaBa to those sweet boys being held down in Guantanamo Bay (love that orange boiler suit!). Ace song, but you've got to listen to it at top volume until your ears bleed... back to back with Heroes by Bowie if possible.

  • Most beautiful woman in pop and a fashion icon followed by everybody from Madonna and Lady BaBa to those sweet boys being held down in Guantanamo Boy (love that orange boiler suit!). Ace song, but you've got to listen to it at top volume until your ears bleed... back to back with Heroes by Bowie if possible.

  • 30 yrs ago plus this song rocked ! so these arguments re gaga, googoo or whatever baby-speak u like are dumb.... the song is good its a class act just ENJOY IT :)

  • her lips are so kissable!!!

  • @kernowrock555 I'm a girl and I used to be obsessed with her mouth, especially her cupid's bow top lip. I used to apply lipstick to copy her, with laughable results.

  • @feedemtothedogs haha !! well she had her own style then , what was really unheard of yhe.. was a blonde.. delberately dying a section black!.. it freaked alot of people out. She still dresses unique now, but the thing I love the most about Debby is her dancing! lol... ( she can't dance .. but still looks so cute trying!)

  • Blondie Deborah Harry still good after all these years :D

  • Debbie is fabulous. No doubt about it, that that's no reason to dish Gaga, who is also very intelligent, if you pay attention.

  • Love the song. 1st time seeing the video. Wow, Debbie really just couldn't be bothered to lip sync to her own song. Still, great music!

  • Stop making comparisons people!. Just tell the kids what they missed out on we were lucky enough to see her at her best and yes they way she sings with those lips is so cool. Atomic!!!

  • lovliest lips ever !!

  • Anyone else notice the T-bagging at 1:21?

  • utterly awesome

  • blondie always

  • In a word;Untouchable

  • Laughing really loud @AlexisCapir suggestion. That is true indeed. Another benefit is musical education for those same neighbors. ;-)

  • Why wasn't this a number 1? WHY?!?

  • @rodon63 HERE, HERE! I couldn't agree more!

  • there will never be another deborah harry....lady ga ga thinks she is but doesn't have the class or the brain...Blondie still holds their own.

  • @rodon63 they're different. lady gaga is more of a pop, avant-garde superstar, but has a deeper message which sets her apart from her other contemporaries - she's a bit more spiritual, sings more about love, loving yourself and being true to who you are, something that the pop world isn't soo aware of and something the world needs to hear, while deborah harry just oozes a cool sexuality and makes awesome, awesome rock music. she's a true original and a pioneer. so yea, they're different

  • @trentigalaxy She doesn't have a deeper message! Wtf. And she's not "avant-garde" at all. All she does is rip off Madonna & others. Her songs are the same as every other current pop artists'.

  • @BillNelsonStayYoung I don't normally enter this type of "kids these days" arguments over who's a better more original artist... but I just have to agree with you re: Lady Gaga NOT being anywhere near as avant-garde and ground-breaking as many ppl are making out! What she's doing is all very well and good for pop music, BUT it's NOT shocking as it's all been done before (and done better) by other artists ie: Bowie, Madonna, Blondie, Boy George, Nine Inch Nails, Manson to name just a FEW.

  • @BillNelsonStayYoung In terms of the way she chooses to fashion and express herself, i'd call that "avant-garde" . she's a pop star so her music isn't soo experimental, but from hearing what she has to say and listening to what she stands for, she does have a deeper message in some of her more current tunes that promotes a sense of self-esteem and self-empowerment. i think that's an important message to get out there for many, and using pop music as a sort of vessel to do it is brilliant.

  • @rodon63 No kidding... Deborah has class, style, and an intelligence that Lady GaGa could only dream of having-- Gaga is shallow and nothing more than a shock-punk dresser...
