As you were squatting down, I thought to myself, "Man, he should have a spotter!" But when you sensed the lift wasn't going to work, you remained calm and let the weight down without incident or injury. It is a good thing for all lifters to see.
I think you could benefit from slightly wider stance and pushing your knees out slightly more. I mean slightly though. Good try, definitely more than I could ever even get under.
@TeamSammon the bar is too high on the back, needs to turn it into a low bar squat in order to use maximum poundage, the back squat is a overall strengthening tool, not a specific one like front squats which help off the floor. in this case it makes sense to use the exercise which allows the most weight- ie low bar squat. why Olympic lifters stick rigidly to the high bar is a mystery, probably because some guy called Boris told them
I was speaking to some people the other day about deadlifting with a rounded upper back... the thoughts were, rounded upper back is better for lifting more weight but won't work your upper back as well as it's not in extension. My choices were reset the weight or keep going with it rounded (safe for upper). Anyway, I remember seeing your perfect deadlifts and thought that's how I want mine, so I will be patient and deload. You inspire me bro!
same here, great dumping technique (eeeeem....) but still, get more flexible. (not bashing, my asg squat is 80 kgs lover then this, so, respect. but at least i don't have to listen to weaker guys attacking my technique. )
@TeamSammon The lowest you can go with that amount of weight. I can't believe your knees lack flexibility. Unless they get uncomfortable below that point. Chakarov's noticeably go absolutely very rock bottom and he couldn't go lower because his knee joints were at extreme bottom. Dumping method should be taught to lifters. I saw someone who was pinned, fell forward, and thought he had a spinal cord injury for several minutes till his nervous system quieted down.
I'm another critic who can't touch that weight! But I can measure. Not "ass to grass," several more inches down to rock bottom. Take off 25 kilos and go to lowest point. It might be helpful to have something between bar and back, like a T-shirt, which isn't much. Conversion says 529 pounds. The Chinese seem to know much about the deepest squats. Fortune cookie time!
@Travisk100 I keep hearing that, sorry, I can't buy it unless it's doing a gymnastics "split." All partial squats are for the sole purpose of awing the unaware. Yeah, I wish I could partial squat that much. Hardest way I ever did a front was to start from extreme pinned bottom position, roll bar set at bottom off pins onto shoulders, pause 3 seconds, and stand--loose shorts only. That style will shave lots of pounds or kilos off anyone's bar.
@Apjooz Since in the clean & jerk a lifter to have highest results must go fast and low under weights which are not pulled very high, full squats are vital, to build strength in the weakest range, which is down low. Maybe some lifters only practice clean & jerk without squats as assistance exercises, but national & world record holders? Not likely. They all squat more than they squat clean. Guadamud 683 x 2 low squat, best squat clean much less than that.
@skirts365 Anything between the bar and a body is going to 1) decrease tactile feedback 2) compromise the ability to keep the torso as upright as possible, thereby applying dangerous anterior tilt contributing to QL strain and a bad lumbar spine position. Though hard to see from behind that squat looked like it would have satisfied minimum depth for PL comp. Finally, that was a nice bail
@darkhorseathletic It's on his bare skin, ok it that's how he wants it but I see heavier weights at least a T shirt is used I get the tactile feedback idea but some still do better with minimal cushioning. I also catch on about the spine strain thing. I've seen "squats" where the lifter is tilted with more than this. But do YOU catch on that this is supposed to be Olympic not PL? And that Olympic does go much lower than PL? We can all train any way we like.
Anybody who can sit down with this kind of weight is bad ass. Those sumo parallel good morning lockouts what I'm seing in the gym on daily basis ain't shit. This is a squat. Ass to grass.
That was actually one of the most decent dumps on a back squat I've seen. If you're gonna miss, just let go of the bar and push your hips forward. Don't hold on until your face hits the floor.
Boe your legs outward, it works alot better, you can get much lower.

you all know your shit about weightlifting, yet you're all too stupid to see in the description that he's showing how to bail if you can't get it up

@TeamSammon try a slightly wider stance which might help with your depth but otherwise technique was really good

@skirts365 i dunno but it looks to me like his hamstrings touched his calves, so it would be physically impossible to go any lower.
some5672 3 months ago
@skirts365 some people aren't as flexible so their hips can't drop any lower but they are still bottoming out.

This was a full squat, but never the less, nowhere does it read that a weightlifter has to do full squats.
