  • YES!

  • I wish I was up there when this happened.

  • Absolutely beautiful!!!!

  • I want to be there the next time he goes up. LOVE the bagpipes!

  • Amazing Grace & itchy fingers?

  • Wow! more power to this guy - the bagpiper, David Quinn.

  • What a wonderful tribute to John Muir and the legacy that is his!

  • me and my 12 year old son made it up there amazing

  • when i was 12, my dad and i made it up about half way and than turned back because it started getting dark:(

  • So he climbs up there and plays. All you can do is bash? Ever think the trip up plus the high elevation helped with it being out of tune? Do better.

  • How hard is it to stay in tune at high altitudes? How long does it take a set of pipes to acclimate to a different pressure, temp and humidity?

  • i made it up there to the top when i was 13!!!

  • This is just awesome! Nice Job!

  • Well done!

  • Try that on clouds rest buddy,.. see if you make the 30 mile trek

  • @lightsakshun just start at tenaya lake and the hike is bitch shit compared to h/d from the valley. clouds rest = easy ass hike.

  • Shortly After returning from Viet Nam, I was TDY stationed at Castle Air force, in 1973, I took my pipes & Full Dress Blues did the top of half dome, and glacier point and down at the mouth of glacier Cave "that sounded really COOL!" VCR Cams then was not a house hold item, I did have a 16mm sound cam. So early morning we first went to the glaciers first had some fantastic scenes with sun reflecting off ice. 6:30-700 @ Half dome Sun was a Golden Vally background, ( countued )

  • ( countued )

I played my pipes on-lookers Cheered, loved it! we were tired sore from all the walking, climbing sliding on ice, On returning down back to the car the worse happened! Someone behind me tripped fell into me, I lost my footing fell drooped the camera broke opened also 2 film cans later found I brook 2 fingers right hand, did save the film @ glaciers, shame lost some really good scenes

  • Magnificent! I wish someone would play the pipes on the mountaintops here in Alaska.

  • Where in AK are you? I'm a piper and plan to be in your state this Summer.

  • Thank you...

This was played ten years ago during my brother's funeral after he passed on suddenly by a member of the Black Watch. My father and grandfather are respected members of their communities and this is a most respectful way to honor this song!

  • Great job, I always wanted to do that with my keyboard, but it is to heavy. I had 7 kids sit on the rocks where you played though, as someone took our picture.

  • haha I would be scared shitless playing right there. Great job. The song he played after Amazing Grace was Glasgow City Police Pipers.

  • what was that that u played after amazing grace?

  • Fantastic!!

  • Davey....Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute. What high A? High enough for all that love the pipes! Brilliant

  • so hauntingly beautiful

  • Dr Blockbuster( of blockbusterbooks fame and from the "hame" of John Muir in Scotland ) says well done Davieboy !!! .. added to my favourites.

As for the high A .. psst .. nobody noticed !!!

    :smiles:

  • Nice video. Great view. I am a Yosemite Native American and that is a great tribute. Half Dome is the face of a Mono Lake Paiute woman who was turned to stone and you can still see her tears running down the side of her face. Great music. Little Yosemite in Paiute is Kweenabah. You have guts to climb her (Half Dome).

  • excellent video quinny

  • Hi guys thanks for all your comments! Cool video but it always makes me cringe because my high A was outta tune!!

  • You little wee scamp! That was bloody brill!!xx

  • Very excellent!!

  • Wonderful video, place, piper, everything! David you´re great!!!! How nice to be there next to you listening!!!!!

  • Beautifully played!! Well done.

  • Just great !! Excellant video & music . Thanks.

  • WOW THE ECHO MUST HAVE BEEN AWESOME.

  • David Quin is the bravest man in the world. I'd pass out before I got near that edge. In fact watching it makes my hands sweat. Thanks for the video.

  • You can rest assured that God turned an ear to the Half Dome that day

  • very good, ESPECIALLY after a 9-mile hike/climb!!!

  • and with the thinner air
