  • i wanna grow up to be like chad! 8D

  • how awesome must their lives be, writing the best music ever while helping the world by creating a charity for pretty much every album

  • Lol

  • @kommon12Cents

    Like an empirical question?

Or is it like empirical data?

  • ahhh, havent heard this in forever, love this tune!! thanks for posting!! awesome!!

One of the best bands i have ever heard!!! ☮♥

  • i want sex

  • @ultimachris

    guess who sick fuck

  • Great song, one of their best songs i think. >:D

  • yet they support Obama's empirical regime because he dawns a velvet glove over his iron fist, as opposed to subject of the song who only had the iron fist....

  • @kommon12Cents empirical regime? I'm confused, how is it empirical?

  • @Taylorwest626 Are you missing a chromosome?

  • 7 people have serious issues

  • if you dont like this song there is something wrong with you

  • They played live at my college last spring and rocked it. It was a bit of a homecoming for them since they're from a town near us in MA. :) Great job guys, Stonehill loved you!

  • lovin it man

  • Obama blows

  • Is chad gay? My brother is seriously in love with him now xD By the way, im gonna vote this is their best song

  • great song

  • the song in the studio is all done with no power chords and no distortion??

i always thought in the chorus he used distortion but in all the videos of live shows he always use open chords..

  • awesome song, love the drummer's system of a down shirt

  • Wednesday in Cville, VA!!!

Playing with Big D and the Kids Table - always an awesome experience.

  • Seeing the This Wednesday

  • stop labeling them liberals just so that you can disregard all the good points that they make you close minded shmucks .. they make good music and yes .. check out dispatch cuz they're better and no they're not the same people .. just chad .. and it's evident in the sounds of the 2 bands music

  • I think you're being a bit quick to get offended. If you were talking about bfinn7291's post, it makes no mention that being liberal is a bad thing, it's just a label. Political music that makes people think is a good thing. Have you ever took a second to think about what quickly calling someone else a close minded schmuck might make you? I'm just asking you to think about it. Blessings to you and yours.

  • it's w/e .. my point .. listen , think . react .

labels aren't necessary nd merely cloud the mind from making objective decisions

  • Chetro for President 2012!

  • a poor man dies for what the rich man believes

  • but the poor man is getting paid for it, and he signed up for it. Nobody put a gun to their head and said "you're being conscripted"

  • Maybe no one's done that to you, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Google "invisible children" or "child soldiers" or "sudan" and see what comes up.

  • yeah they are pretty liberal, their album year of the crow is all about political issues. for example this song is about the war in Iraq. listen to the beginning, "It was a rough night,

Turned into years in an unknown land.

    Jut a grudge fight,

Cooked up by the D.C. suits on hand." think about it.

  • Good song, I'm seeing them play on Friday.

  • and also.. chad has the most awesome hair ever.

  • @brentblack0012 I wish my hair was like that :p

  • Is this band libertarians? There names seems to indicate so.

  • democrats

  • brentblacks: Democrats?? Ahh, that's pretty typical and boring. They're still stuck in the left-right paradigm I guess...

  • i was just stating what they beleive in... no need to hate on them for it, after all, it is their meesage and the purpose of their music

  • well, liberal anyways. and yes, libertarian too. those are two different axis of the political compass.

  • Their names? Huh?

I'd be hesitant to classify any of them as one specific political party. They're not cut and dry in their views.

  • I was just wondering the same exact thing. If they're not, I'm gonna be real surprised. I really like this band, and I just came across them about 10 minutes ago.

  • Listen to dispatch's song the general.

if you like these people you will definetly like dispatch. after all, they are the same people.

  • @MrWake7

Thanks! I checked out that song and I love it!

  • @MrWake7

its not the same people. its just one of those people. and state radio is far better than dispatch,... dispatch just happened to come along first

  • @brentblack0012 "state radio is far better than dispatch" Wrong.

  • its an opinion ... jonathan. and atleast state radio isnt over run with fratty douches.

  • @jonathon8860 whats the difference? lol

  • one of the best songs ever in my opinion

  • madd good song by a madd good band

  • Thats a sick ass Hypnotize tee Mad Dog's got there!

  • yo this a sick vidio nice song choice state radio is an awsome band : )

  • got to love blazing to some state radio

  • Chad is god.

  • Such a true statement.

  • ha actually all three of them wrote and sang during dispatch. but chad urmston is the genius behind songs such as "the general" and "open up" and state radio was started two years before dispatch broke up (2002).

  • no the lead singer of dispatch is pete francis, difrent guys

  • yeah but actually pete AND chad were both the vocals for dispatch. and chad is the lead vocals for state radio...which was formed after dispatch's breakup.

  • There was no lead singer in Dispatch. They played songs that they wrote. Sometimes Chad would sing, sometimes Pete, sometimes Brad. They all played a ton instruments. Chad played guitar, bass, and drums. Same with Brad. Pete only played bass and guitar.

  • the guy use to be the singer in dispatch and then formed this band.. im pretty sure!

  • Yeah, his name is Chad Urmstrom (Chetro)

  • I think the best band ever consists of:

    Robert Plant- vocals

    Jimmy Page- guitar

    John Paul Jones- bass

    Jon Bonham- drums

    These guys are also great.

  • haha yes

  • from sublime?.......try dispatch

  • yo aockid is ?uestlove with an "e"..and to all u pretenders the best line up is playing in the video above.

  • ?ustlove-drums

    Bradley Norwell-guitar, vocals

    Paul MCartney-bass, vocals

  • wow bro.

    bradley nowell mayb?

  • the best band I would like to see...

    Neil Fallon-Vocals

    Dan Maines-Bass

    Tim Sult-Guitar

    JP Gaster-Drums

    Mick Schauer-Keys

oh wait it is a band...

    the almighty....

    CLUTCH!

  • Tim Sult sucks

  • Tim Sult can write any riff he is god

  • Tim sult can Play any riff, but so can most 16 year old bassists

  • i agree except id put les claypool as bass. thats just me though

  • Chetro is one of the best.

A band I would like to see

    Chad Urmston - guitar

Bradley Norwell ( I know hes dead) - guitar

Keith Moon ( I know hes dead too) - drums

    Flea - bass

  • john entwhistle

  • it all depends on your music taste.

  • who the hell is this norwell character you speak of?

  • lead singer and guitarist from sublime

  • do me a favor and google image search "sublime acoustic cd"

  • I own that cd. it is very good as all sublime stuff is.

  • dispatch

  • Fail....

  • @shtooops I think he means Nowell :) typo maybe?...it sucks that he is gone :(

  • great music

...I want to have such a house for me and my friends too :-)

  • sup guys, just wondering if anyone here knows why dispatch broke up... read on one of these posts that it was cuz chad only wanted to write politically-centric songs and pete and braddigan desired a more diverse range of songs... i don't believe the hype (even though state radio does have alot of anti-government corruption lyrics.. gunship politico, wicker plane, democracy in kind, gang of thieves, ect...) Just wanted a second opinion. srry for the crazy long post. :)

  • It was a combination of factors. Since all three Dispatch members were song writers there were eventual issues with each person's respective creativity being "messed with", or held back, for lack of a better word, by the other two. With 3 creative minds in one band it can get complicated. Plus there was the unignorable point of the fact that Chad wanted to write music that had a message, and much of that didn't necessarily align with the other members, so that was another mitigating factor.

  • Basically what sgt said also I believe chad wanted to start a punk band, I.E. state radio. Other than that there is an interview with dispatch that lightly covers that, I think it was buy "What's your news" or something it's on youtube if you look up Dispatch Interview.

  • heh, I saw Chad solo acoustic at Brattle Theatre, very good show.

  • tried to gt tix to that. lucky.

  • Dispatch is still a great band, i would say Dispatch Greater then or equal to State.

Can't wait to see State this friday in DC!

  • going to see them nov. 29

  • Me too

    gunna be crazy

  • Pulling this out for an encore in Cincinnati was EPIC!

Then bringing Bongo Love onstage just made it even better.

  • yeahhhh i was there... opening with calvados chopper was so sick

  • sick show at the learning center for the deaf! u guys are fuckin nasty.

  • You, sir, win the internet

  • naw, chetto does. chetto for president 12'!

  • awesome show at uconn, great set!

  • saw these bamfs at uconn!!!! sick show. and i am friends with the guys opening for them at the webster. bad ass.

  • I saw them at Uconn too!

    holy crowd surfing massacre haha

  • yea hell yea word i was there

  • uconn show was great...even got to meet chad =)

  • Saw them here at UCONN about four hours ago. Amazing show.

  • saw em at bonnaroo wow

  • I SAW THEM AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES

  • im gonna see em in october at the webster

  • ahah same

  • Chad is a great front man, but without Braddigan and Pete, there's just a certain dynamic that's missing. Dispatch could go so many different directions during their songs, and that's lost now...

  • Dispatch *couldn't* keep going because the 3 of them weren't working well together any more as musicians. And aside from any of that, Chad wouldn't be able to play the majority of things he plays with SR if he were with Dispatch. SR has enabled him to access his own creative ingenuity, and as a result the entire band itself has become a powerhouse of talent and quality. Dispatch's disbanding, which is old worn out news, enabled SR to be created, and that is a wonderful thing.

  • what does he do differently in state radio compared to dispatch

  • Well aside from the obvious political/social aspects of Chads writing, which was a big part of the reason behind their break up [watch Last Dispatch] SR's musical style as a whole is vastly different than that of Dispatch. SR is a punk rock band [with some reggae influence]. Additionally Chad has said in many interviews he'd rather "just rock out" these days, and Dispatch never really fit that vein. I can't see the majority of SR's songs being played by Dispatch- at least without being less good

  • they are not punk rock, they have no aspect of punk in them at all, i would say ROCK and reggae

  • Oh please you're arguing semantics. What some see as metal others may just see as punk, etc. I've heard others call SR alt-rock, others hardcore-rock, and others punk-rock. Who cares.

The point is that SR is far too heavy of rock to even compare their music with Dispatch's in the first place. The music is entirely different.

  • the music is enitrely better, the lyrics displayed in all of his songs such as fal of the american empire and people to people do not compare to anything made by dispatch, the only real album where dispatch displayed the rock that state radio has is Who Are We Living For? Other than that Pete and Brad did not want to play the political rock that chad yearned for causing dispatch to have arguments leading to there split in 2002 and the last dispatch in 2004.

  • it's the songs that chad wrote in dispatch that were more politically minded, emphasis on The General and Steeples, which were both from him

dispatch and SR are two entirely different bands, and you can't compare them, because where SR lacks dispatch succeeds, and vice versa

somedays i like to pop SR into my cd player because i want to hear chad to his best, and some days i like the tuned down aspect that brad and pete had

  • I agree with you. I find Dispatch (for the most part) to be feel-good music. I listen to that if I want powerful, good music. Past the Falls and the General are positive songs (I suppose in opinion...) and fun to listen to.

Although I recently heard of State Radio, they seem really good too. I will prolly listen to both.

  • Indie

  • yes!

  • YOUR WELCOME!

  • I just heard this singer was from Dispatch. This band is just as good. Great Song.

  • i submit that they are BETTER.

  • they arent better than dispatch.

  • no one is better than dispatch...

  • but... I like State Radio better than dispatch, and every band for that matter. But you say it isn't possible?! My whole world is crashing down!! //tear

  • Correction: *State Radio* is better than Dispatch

  • 2:37, the afri-can gas can guitar, soooo sick

  • amazing band, freakin amazing

  • He actually plays a Modulus G3CT

  • this is such a good song

  • Saw these guys last night, best show of all time. They played Camilo for an encore and it was easily the best moment of my life.

  • saw them open for gogol bordello in Brooklyn at McCarren Pool. realllly good

  • omfg gogol is the BEST

  • i know...

they are coming to new orleans..

  • does anybody know wich guitar chad plays?

  • he plays a dan electro

  • he plays a les paul junior.

  • Yeah state radio rocks.. and ya, they are deep... as in liberal acivists. but i do like how they try to bring attention to genecide and darfur

  • lol, it looks like they just put together a bunch of video shots of them in the studio and made it into a video :p

  • wut is that white guitar he has

  • i could be wrong, but it looks more like a daniel electro than anything else i can think of

  • Lol, it's "Danelectro"... one word.

  • they were awesome yesterday in London! plus I got autographs!!!! yay!

  • love this band

  • there playing bonnaroo as well this year.

  • theyre not opening for 3EB, theyre doing a few shows together. absentstar is opening for them.

  • absolutely godly. chad is my hero.

  • yea they are opening for third eye blind...im going to the jersey show hell yea

  • Year of the Crow was one of the only cd's i have ever bought.. i decided to support a great band by not downloading it illegally and actually buying it.

    .

i heard State Radio was opening for Third eye blind in Michigan...or something like that

    is this true??

  • I agree I also bought Year of the Crow but Chad stated before in an interview that at least with Dispatch, he supported Napster because it spread their music so more people cam out to shows. That seems to be the only important thing to him

  • State Radio All THe Way

  • sick vid! Love State Radio

  • super geile band :)

  • zeker een hele geile band!

  • extremely awesome song

  • Chetro is the man!! Best State Radio song they got!!

  • Every State Radio song is great, man. Most of their lyrics are really deep, and this just adds to list. Great music in "general". (Ha.. Dispatch joke.) But anyway, no offence made.

  • Very cool.

  • sweeeeet video man

  • first comment...oh ya

  • that is sick ^o^
