This slogan aint all that bad,nut Accelerate you life was good but when you think about it accelerate is like fast past, heart pumping things like that, in the navy ur on a ship months at a time going 30 to 35 mph (29-31 knots) trying to get somewhere, not accelerating at all. well this slogan is alot better then my branch of service slogan...GO ARMY!... its lame as hell.
This commercial does not fit the motto, "A Force for Good". It show power, violence and control being projected from the sea; not influence, aid, legitimate use of force, nor "good".
Other navy commercials actually try to do the latter, and some succeed.

Gay, they didn't show CS's in the messdecks kicking ass with "frying pans" and serving food it shows that the only fucking way to do something bad ass is you have to obviously be an FC or on EOD. The video didn't show Fucking BM's putting new weatherdeck down in a blizzard with some bad ass music in the background, it was basically a commercial of FC's doing there drills after getting there ship out of the yards. The video should have shown how bad ass PQS's are cuz thats what the navy really is

@smn2275 - don't give up. The Navy needs men like your son. Ask to speak to the recruiter's commanding officer and tell him/her what's going on and how much your son wants to serve. Most of us work our asses off keeping the ship working the way it's supposed to.
Those who score lower on the ASVAB will have more mundane jobs than those who scored higher.
