This setup has 0.8mm thick wire, I believe it is around AWG20. But I used this thickness only because it is much easier to wind on the poles, because it bends better. I wanted to use 1mm thick wire, but this was easier :)

those were amps at 12V single phase.
After so much sweat it is sooo nice to be able to see that baby hum :) Great work!
