Kids love winning and if someone tells them its necessary to win, they're willing to do it, especially when the prizes are huge trophies, huge tiaras, money and toys
@ramboracoon • Don’t you know anything about what goes on? How the mother's psychologically make their kids think it’s fun so they won’t object and wearing adult clothes, spray tans, surgery, drugs, alcohol its child abuse and child pornography mixed into one. Luckily it will get banned soon since the number of complaints and the kids will be saved and pedophiles have nothing to watch and possibly attack them like they have in the past and continue to do so. they do nothing positive
Anyone on here okay with child pageants are blind. these girls are mostly forced to do it until they give up fighting their parents and give up. It’s a false sense of beauty, and the things the mothers will do to a win by making their child engage in behaviors and practices that are socially associated with wearing heavy makeup to emphasize full lips, long eyelashes, and high heels to emulate adult women, provocative dance steps, flirtatious poses/facial expressions & revealing evening gowns.
You want the truth I'm 12 I think pageants are awesome I've never been in one but I envy the kids that get to do them every weekend if they didn't like it they wouldn't be up on the stage that is the truth
I LOVE IT THE DRESSES IS PERFECT AND I LOVE PAGENTS ALL SORTS AND I LOVE GETTING ALL DOLLED UP FOR ALUP FOR SOMETHING I LOVE DOING :) :) :) :) :) :) LOVE THE WAY U'S GET ALL DOLED UP TOO X ;) ;) ;)
DO THEY REALIZE WHAT THEY "LIKE" ????? Or do they think it's just a game where they get to dress like princesses? What do you think?...just a moment...they're kids...they haven't really thought about it right? What about their moms then? Would they allow their 4 or 6-year-olds to go out like that? Or is it OK to dress them like whores only to get a crown or money???
@wimberlyann85 Clearly your an idiot. You've made a logical error. You think that if someone thinks something is inappropriate or too sexual for a child they find it sexually arousing. That's bullshit. If you look at that argument for even a second if you had any sense in your head (which obviously you don't ) you'd see how ridiculous it is.
If you think like that maybe you shouldn't be a mom
@DanceDancing23 Why don't you the "serious type" explain us why that argument was ridiculous...? Maybe we should be forced to dress our daughters like whores if we want to be moms one day...I hope you never have a daughter or if you do I hope she turns to be smarter than you...
@DanceDancing23 Well maybe I'm not even from your country DUMBASS (thank GOD)! How does that comment "Clearly your an idiot. You've made a logical error. You think that if someone thinks something is inappropriate or too sexual for a child they find it sexually arousing." show that they shouldn't dress their daughters inappropriately? Does it depend on what we think or high heels, belly buttons out and small tops make this a matter of opinion. Shithead!
@trelenh Your the shithead! Why don't you actually learn to properly understand english before you reply to other peoples comments. A while ago a top commenter said any one who thinks that any costume is inappropriate on a child is clearly a pedophile themselves. My comment said that's bs and those costumes aren't appropriate on little girls. I feel sorry for whoever has to deal with you everyday, seeing that you're such an idiot you can't even properly read and understand simple comments. Cunt!
@DanceDancing23 Your??????? So who is the idiot now? I can't understand some of the things in your language but probably you can do it better huh? Well I feel sorry for you...
@trelenh You're still a complete dumbass. You're not from this country and it's obvious you don't fully understand the english, yet you're replying to a comment. Learn english before you start insulting people, bitch
@DanceDancing23 I already said I misunderstood some of the things you said...why don't you admit you are a dumb ass for not reading it wrong...you the one knowing the language...and that you like insulting people...
I personally could have done pageants but refused to, I don't outright hate them but I did notice at a young age that the pageant kids were not exactly how do I put it; educated maybe?
Alot of the ones I knew, and ironically most of those who post on youtube who are in them apparently have horrible English grammar skills despite having that outer beauty based confidence.
A beauty pageant is not judged by intelligence but by outer beauty, and it shows.
dear missbrittxx. thank you for finally telling people how pageants do no harm to the child and how they enjoy it. everybody is saying they are bad but they dont understand. they've never lived a pageant life and probally from the looks of it they hate it even more. but the more you watch you understand how this must be a good thing not bad.
My kids dont care if they win, they arent disappointed, they are just excited cause they got to visit with their friends. We are into pageants in southeast Missouri, where no one leaves empty handed. They get crowns, trophies or both. They are taught that everyone is beautiful and everyone wins
My 2 children are in pageants and they don't wear makeup, they do wear pretty dresses, and their hair is fixed, but only in a fashion that they would wear to church. They aren't forced at all. They have fun, make friends, and they enjoy it. How is that any different than them going to a stupid football game?? Its NOT !! How is that any different than parents or coaches pushing the kids to do better in sports, and if they dont do good on the field, they get their a**es jumped. I've seen it
You know what? I think you (the parents) are really asking for trouble. How dare you put your child into a pageant contest. What do you think they are, barbies? Babies are not barbies. If you put your innocent child through this, then your sick. REAL SICK PARENTS!!!
The problem is that these children are growing up before their years. They are too young to be spending so much time having hair and makeup done. And the focus on outer 'beauty' achieved through false means can't be healthy for any developing individual. And to the idiot who said that these girls are smart enough to know that brains come before beauty, this is directly shaping their attitudes that they will carry with them through to later years. Go study child psychology.
@lovechaitea but it's like playing dressup but taking it to a extreme level. let's say there getting trophies for playing dressup. it boosts there self esteem so give them some slack there only 2
To all the people against pageants- they will not go away. If you don't like 'em, don't join 'em. It's not your children, and not your business. I think these girls are smart enough to know brains come before beauty. If they wanted to be Miss America they would have to be smart. These girls are obviously having fun.
Pageant are fun!! many people see their daughters put on mommy's high heels and lipstick its not a bad thing i am 11 and i LOve pageants! If you don't like it dont watch it cuz pageants aren't gonna leave they have all around the WORLD!
My little sister was in a beauty pagent and I swear she was the only natural one there and she won first place without any make-up, tanning, or facy hairstyles
Actually where in this video you see children that are undeniably having fun? All these pictures are from stage performances or situations where they are with people who expect them to like this. I think children are versatile and can thrive in almost every environment (they seem to have fun and can make the best of it) even if they were rather doing something appropriate for their age if they had the choice.
@hypoksifilia undeniably they have been successfully indoctrinated by people who think the earth is 10000 years old, only redneck idiots would think anything about these "Pageants" is ok
@wimberlyann85 You sound like a pedophile you filthy pig. Making excuses, all i see when i watch this is people like you opening doors for Child Sex rings you pervert. You people should not be allowed to have anymore kids I dont know if you know anything about natural laws, everyone has every right to fight this because you are perverting the minds of kids and they cant deffend themselves. Which effects other kids. Your souls are ugly thats why you look misreable you demons. SO DUMB
@ganjaman95 you have an amaizing venom to your words, "Your souls are ugly thats why you look misreable you demons." YES!! this is what i'm talking about, people are on the verge these days.
Those children like to do pageants... Because they are trained to like them. They are taught superficiality. They are not taught to value themselves outside of their physical appearance. They are taught to be shallow.
Sad, but true, and that's quite damaging to children's INNER development - you know, what's not readily visible to the eye.
"Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" Sorry if I keep reposting your question but it's just such a gift. Because there is enough focus on superficial beauty in our culture? Entering a child in a competition for 'most beautiful' is an invisible abuse because there are no winners. And what is worse? A losing child learning she is less because she lacks beauty or a winning child learning that is better than others because of her beauty?
@lovemrdarcy Okay so you obiviously have never been involved with these pageants. I am 16 and have been in them all my life. Never once have I thought " I am less because I lack beauty." I have also never thought of myself as better than anyone else in any way. If anything, these pageants have taught me self confidence, the ability to learn quickly (from routines), and to be smile and be happy no matter what life throws at you. It has taught me to be "lady-like." It has taught me to have
@Kasicheer You speak for yourself Kasicheer and good for you that you only got the good on it. But you cannot speak for anybody else. Again, this is not only my voice but the general agreement of people who actually study children development. For each one of you who throws the old .. I did it and I'm got awesome' there will be a dozen that will not be that luck. It's kind of sad that girls need beauty pageants to learn self confidence, smile and be happy " . Good parenting should be enough.
@Kasicheer Obviously, you know nothing but others but yourself. How can you know I never been involved in pageants? Because I think they do more harm than good? Maybe that's because I have been involved in pageants and saw sad consequences that makes me dismiss them. If anything maybe it's you that can not have a say on that. You obviously has been raised on it and could not see beyond your own experience. Having so much fun would probably blind you to anything else, right?
@lovemrdarcy .. good posture (which is good for the health of your body.) It has taught me to cheer on others even as they are competing against me. It has taught me to alway do my best, and to be proud no matter what happens. These pageants are not all about beauty. They are about how much fun you have on stage.
In basketball, is one team not competing with another to see who is better? How is this any worse than pageants? Only one team wins right? In pageants there are soo many different
@Kasicheer "Thought self confidence, smile and be happy no matter what life throws at you. It has taught me to be lady-like.. good posture... cheers on others ....do my best... be proud no matter what happens. "" Again, how very sad is that a girl may need a beauty pageant to achieve this. Good parenting should be enough. There is something really wrong with children and teenagers today if manners, pose, 'being lady like', be proud are not values taught at home but rather in glitz pageants.
@Kasicheer "In basketball, is one team ..blah, blah... is better? How is this any worse than pageants? Only one team wins right? In pageants there are soo many different" Oh dear. Please read my posts first. Go back and read my point on why a competition on beauty cannot possibly be compared to a sport competition. You can work harder to be a better basketball player, you cannot work harder to be 'more beautiful' unless you fake 'it' of course, like the plastic dolls on this vid.
@lovemrdarcy I have never been forced to do pageants. I love them. Don't judge a book by its cover, right? Well, until you experience it all you, my friend, have no place whatsoever to talk.
@Kasicheer " I have never been forced to do pageants." Where did I say you were forced? If you had the trouble to read my posts you would see that my point is that children love pageants, of course they do. Like they love candies for breakfast. Just because they liked, it doesn't mean it's their decision. If you were forced, bribed, let to enjoy, let to believe that this is how you would get your values (confidence, pride,...) it doesn't matter. In the end, it was not your decision to make.
"Don't judge a book by its cover, right? " Wait.... what?? Well, first, the irony of your phrase on not judging a book by a cover when it's you, as an young lady to puts yourself to be judged by strangers by the way your walk, sing and ultimately look. Look at the video above you. If you don't find the irony of your statement while defending this kind of competition, I doubt you are serious in you discussion.
@Kasicheer " Well, until you experience it all you, my friend, have no place whatsoever to talk." Imagine a world where you could not talk on things just because you not 'experienced all'. People have always have a right to talk. And they should. I don't need experience rape to talk about it. Or racism. Or good things. Once you are a witness to the things on your world, you actually have a right, and sometimes a duty to talk... I'm surprised they don't teach that at beauty pageants!
@Kasicheer " Well, until you experience it all you, my friend, have no place whatsoever to talk." Oh yes, I do. I have a place as a woman that would wish that young girls where taught since early on that their confidence and pride would come from a panel of strangers judging their 'lady-like' manners, dresses and posture. I have a place because we already have a society that focus too much on 'book cover' beauty for adults and it's pitiful that it starts with children.
@Kasicheer "Don't judge a book by its cover, right?" You tell me. I see in this videos nothing but children being 'faked' in a better cover. How about in your next pageant you show up with only your wits and plain clothes? Walk your 'normal-like' in the aisle. Have a zit? leave it. Your teeth is less than perfect? Argument with the judges how awesome you are because of the pageants like you did here. And ask them not to judge you by your looks, a book by the cover. See how good you do!
"Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" The long-standing and overwhelming opinion in the psychology group is that children beauty pageant are not in the best interest of healthy child development, so this is not just about people picking on your pageant community or 'haters'. The critics could be wrong but if so, they would be losing an argument, you on the other hand has your child on the bet.
"Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" Oh, thank you, that is a golden question. But is the pageant community honestly interested in hearing the why nots? Because when you enter in defense mode -- mostly you see our critic as an attack, I understand. And once you get in a defense mode, it's not really a matter of ponder on pros and cons but just a question of 'stand' for your side.... is this really a question?
5- For the 'natural' pageants... well, fair enough, at least you are not spraying chemicals on your child's skin, or fake nails, hair like they were a wax doll but still... the point remains that there is something wrong about putting children, girls, in competitions for 'most beautiful' . The message you are teaching your daughter -- and carrying to society -- is that women are valued by their appearance (what is true) and that is how it should be ( what is not. True.)
4- Not even going on the dark side of how 'mature' these girls look. It's true. Heavy makeup, the suggestive gestures, the suggestive costumes and why on Earth child pageants have swimming suits competition? So they can show their 'hot' tanned bodies and emulate sexy gestures?? You are making your child display signs that are beyond their age. Believe me, this is not cute, it's disturbing
3- For the eternal excuse that 'teaches them self esteem, make friends, builds confidence' ... well, there is a couple of flaws on this argument. First, there are plenty of healthier and much more efficient ways to achieve this. A sport -- where your daughter can exceed because of her skills not her looks -- a charity social group, girls scouts, so many channels that would teach your daughter that she is worth for what she is, not for what she looks like.
2- To the eternal excuse that the child 'love' to be in pageants ... of course they do, what girl would not love to play hard core dress up complete with makeup, glitz, nails? But they also would love to eat candy for breakfast, stay up late and watch TV, play with fire. They do not have maturity to understand that not always what they like it's good for them, it's the parent job to make this distinction.
1- One thing to parents to people who excuse this kind of competition by comparing to sports... no, it is not. In sports you win or lose based on your skills, you can always get better by training harder. Hide under whatever excuse you want but It is called 'BEAUTY' pageant for a reason: the value here is physical appearance so unless you count fake tan, hair, nails, plastic surgery, etc as 'sport skills' that your child can gain, this is not the same as soccer.
@lovemrdarcy : 1-People call it a sport because you do have to work on skills in order to win, these girls train very hard, facial beauty is judged seperately, it is these skills that decide the winner, look at a score sheet for a pageant please..2- It is the parents job to make this distinction and that is why they allow their children to compete..3-Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?
@PageantAunt2010 1- Again, no matter how you twist, the kids are judged mainly and foremost by how they look. It's called a BEAUTY pageant for a reason, either you wish to ignore it or not. For you to say that besides that other 'skills' are judged only adds to the point that it's not even enough for the child to be physically 'perfect' for the adult standards, they also have to blow perfect kisses, emulate adults in dance and gesture and whatever else you define as 'skill'.
@PageantAunt2010 Unless you consider 'modeling skills' in same level of sport skills, it's hard to keep a straight face when someone tries to link this to a real sport. I did looked at the score sheet for a child beauty pageant and yes, I have to agree with you... it does take hard work for a child that does not stumble in their modeling, run around in the stage, cry or in other words... act like a child that she/he is. More to the point, besides 'beauty' the skill here is to emulate adults.
@PageantAunt2010 "Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" Let's see. 1- Because if you put aside a sec your defense mode and really consider the points other people use to criticize this as not being a health way you may see that it's not worth the risk; 2- Because yes, it's a matter of opinion but not only from a random youtube user but from the psychology community. Again, if there are other forms, why risk it? To prove your point?
@lovemrdarcy : and lastly, 4-Im sorry if you see swimsuits in a sexual way but that is your opinion, if you think that parents are having children show sexual gestures then again, that's your opinion, but like you said "it's the parents job to make this distinction", you can't expect everyone to think as you do. I'm not trying to start a "fight" or argument but honestly if you post something like this, it would be crazy not to expect a response from someone in the pageant community
@PageantAunt2010 Of course I expected a response from someone in the pageant community and yours is the typical one. 1- Deny that the competition is about beauty? Check. 2- Try to link beauty pageant to sport? Check. 3- Try to excuse the blatant inappropriate mature content to the 'ugly mind' of whoever dare to say it? check. 4- Say that they do it because the child 'loves' it. Well, that is not a check but I'm guessing you fall into this one too.
@PageantAunt2010 "Im sorry if you see swimsuits in a sexual way but that is your opinion" I don't see swimsuits in a sexual way... if you are using for a swim! But using swimsuit for parading the body is a grown up thing! it's not my opinion. It's common knowledge that in an adult beauty pageant, grown up women parade in front of an audience with no other purpose but to show their beautiful, sexually attractive bodies. Thus the question... what is the point of having the kids do it??? Emulate.
@PageantAunt2010 "if you think that parents are having children show sexual gestures then again, that's your opinion". Again, no, it's not my opinion. It's common knowledge that certain gestures would never came naturally to an young child because they have no 'flirting' skills yet. Do one critical look at the routines being taught to these girls and you have to be painfully blind not to see how many of them clearly emulate gestures that are beyond their level of sexual maturity.
@kassiebear100 if they want to do a natural pageant, they'd go to a natural beauty one, there is more than one type. it's there decision which type they do.
This is so gross, it dosnt matter if the children enjoy them for the time being or not, this crap is just for pedophiles to enjoy. And for their parents to look back and wish they were there again. What are you teaching them? to compete for their beauty and show off there fucking bodies. As a parent you should want to protect your kids this is not protection, its a waste of money and these kids are fake, show them off for what they really have. Your kids are more beautiful without makeup.
Yes but you have to wear a lot of fake stuff so that you can parade in front of strangers that are judging you, and then be told whether or not you are beautiful or not. I won't deny that the kids enjoy it. What is so bad is that they shouldn't. The parents are too stupid to realize that they are sending a 6 year old girl out in fake hair, eyelashes, tan, makeup, and wearing a bikini, (even though the have no breasts to fill it out!) That, is my definition of a baby whore :)
i <3 pageants! and i am glad to announce a new girl coming into the pageant buisness and her name is bella. she is new but is getting ready! she adores eden wood and cant get enough videos oof her you'll know bellas name in a few more years!
@glitzygirlpageant my daughters name is Bella too! lol she likes being in pageants and she likes to watch the other girls =) Fun Stuff! Good Luck newbies!!
@JellyKimSugarBoom14 : Hun, honestly, pedophiles are everywhere As disgusting as it is there are many types of pedophiles and many are not attracted to children who "look like adults" you are more likely to find more pedophiles at a family beach than at a pageant, and most pageants are closed events which do not allow just anyone to come and watch. These children know theyre beautiful with or without makeup, have you ever talked to a pageant girl, I have and I am one, so I know first hand.
@PageantAunt2010 OK, I gotta speak up on this. I've working with sex offenders in a prison and what they're attracted to is they find the child's body arousing so even if they're made up to look like an adult if they're not full developed physically a pedophie will be attracted to them. And pedophiles are attracted to anything that gives them access to potential victims. This is why they're usually teachers or camp counselors. A pageant is a magnet for them simply because they include children.
Every one knows that 911 was an inside job right? You see, the King James Version of the bible is really the word of God! The (kjv) bible tells us that we are living in Satan's kingdom. Thus, we are all going fulfill our moral duty and expose the father of all lies by posting the 911 was an inside job icon right?
You can't place all pageant girls into groups and label them wrong, abused, etc. I am sure the ones that have a problem with it either: A. know nothing about pageants or B. had a bad experience with them or even C. are misinformed and have let some media garbage influence their opinion. If children find them fun and WANT to do them, I see no problem with it.
I don't know what all of the fuss is about. Sure, there are probably moms out there that force their kids to do this. I am sure they are a small amount. I did not let my child do any pageants until she was old enough to decide she wanted to. I informed her about them, let her watch videos, etc. She decided she wanted to do them and she loves it. She is going to be doing a 3rd on in February. I would never force her to do a pageant if she didn't want to.
@snittybuck Oh hush up you. It does make you feel pretty and if you've never competed in nor even watched a live pageant then you are in no position to talk.
People who participate in these, children and parents. Question: Why are the dresses so often seen on clips for child beauty padgents so old fashioned? I hate to sound mean, but they are pritty tacky. And what I mean old fashioned is that shure you can have tull and lace and all, but sometimes too much is too much, and in the 80-90, people might have not known that fackt. I study to become a Desinger Stylist, and im just curious to why is that? Is it just a traditional clothes, or what?
This is terrible! These little girls are being treated like adult fashion models and are led to believe that they are not beautiful and need to wear fake teeth, and hair and tans and eyelashes and makeup! Its wrong! Parents wtf is wrong with you?
@shandelable Ok seriously I am in pageants! I am 11 years old and I love them! They are not terrible! And most of the time its not the parents ideas to put them in pageants. The kids say that they want to. Just like I did! So back off!
@XxlovescookiesxX , That's why 11-year-olds aren't allowed to make adult decisions - like putting children in makeup and short skirts. Adults know what kind of society we live in. You don't. Think about it.
@blibjorb Ok seriously. You arent in pageants so you shouldnt be talking. And have you ever been to a pageant live! Huh have ya. Well you know what. You havent because not all pageants are like that. And Its one of my hobbies so dont like, dont comment. Shut up and backoff, If you gotta problem with my hobby for pageants then dont comment. Kk you got that?
@shandelable You know what! SHUT UP! YOU DONT KNOW MY MOM! She doesnt really want me to do pageants but she cares enough about me to let me do pageants and actually suport me! Unlike your mom.
@shandelable wtf is wrong with you? Bitching about pageants on a 3 minute youtube video. You cannot judge something by a youtube video, that's like me judging you as mean and stuck up if you're a cheerleader. You're wrong, get over it.
How is teaching a little girl that the most important thing in life is to look pretty in any way, beneficial to her or society in general? These pageants breed mindless stupid women. Sad.
@sylvianfripp Are you talking about yourself sweet cheeks? If you don't like them don't watch them, idiot. It's not flipping rocket science. And you have no idea how wrong you are. If you think like that then there's something wrong with you, not the pageants, the parents or the kids but you. Fucking weirdo. Pageants are fun and teach good life skills. If you've never competed in a pageant then you are in no position to talk.
I have a pageant resale site that is open to everyone on Facebook. Go to Facebook and search ALL THAT SAPRKLES PAGEANT RESALE... you are sure to find a dress there and if no one has one check out the pages favorites list.
It's not about what they like or not. It's the message they get for the rest of their life. It's all about looks, fake stuff to "enhance" your beauty, flirting and so on. Ofcourse they like it. It's what they are tought to like. That's exactly the scary part.
i love pageants and i really want to be in them so if i do join pageants my mom wouldn't be forcing me. some pageant moms do force their children to be in them.. but thats a rare case senario. the reasons why moms dont force their children to be in pageants is because its costing them money out of their banking accounts and pockets. so some moms would be happy if their children didnt like the pageants
I really like this video! Bravo! And I agree that these kids do love these pagents.... but not all of them. But thats the case in many things such as, gymnastics, dance, soccer and everything else! So why do people atack the pagents so much? As long as the kids are staying clean in thier rutines and are having fun whats bad about that? AMAZING job<3
omg! u used to pageants like these i still have some of the clothes i wore :) and this song was played at them but i think it was a little slower. but yes! I loved pageants and still do! im fixen to do the National American Miss in september :)
Why would anyone want their prepubescent daughter to be dolled up like a grown woman (fake teeth/hair, spray tans, makeup) it's gross. Why not invest in their future by putting the money it costs to participate in a pageant into a college trust fund or positive extracurricular activity like violin lessons or ballet, help these girls build actual skills instead of teaching them at such a young age that they are good for nothing but being "eye candy".
@0ddGIRL0ut I agree, I believe that yes some children do enjoy pageants but also a lot of them are also forced to do it, my friend was forced when she was 3 and hated it, that's just my opinion
@lolepopgirl my 6 year old neice cant get enough of pageants she does them in her sleep lol but theirs a lil boy whos forced to do martial arts even being made train when injured so its not just pageants but my neice adores pageants
@0ddGIRL0ut eye candy is not what is being taught, you are missing the point the emphasis is on performance the makeup and things are just the same thing as a uniform for the sport, if you are not going to come prepared do not attempt to play the game, grown women? I have never seen a grown woman in a dress with a cupcake skirt on LOL they would look pretty silly and when I was in ballet I had to wear fake hair to make my hair bun the same as everyone else's and makeup
the dance school would not let us on stage without such things and the costumes covered allot less than pageant clothes do , hows about looking at reality for a moment rather than reality tv
Thank you MissBritt, for being honest about what it is but also about being honest that a lot of girls love to do it!
While I have seen mothers literally dragging their daughters onstage (and those are the ones that make the rest of us look bad), my daughter has been doing pageants for over 3 years and LOVES IT!! Her last pageant she was literally falling asleep before she got on stage but when she got up there BAM! she lit up. She won Supreme after all of that :).
I think that the whole tanning is a little extreme for these young cuties but I think that alot of girls LOVE to dress up and prance around on stage. I think it's cute to watch~ But natural beauty is really hard to find and to me those are the ones that stand out. And their personalities :) (my daughter doesn't do them but we watch the TLC show and she loves to mimic them and dance in her dresses to, lol)
@angelus1224 have you tried Ebay thats where my sister gets a lot her my neices dresses she does glitz pageants the lil cupcake dresses are ushaly cheap and so cute and we just alter them a lil
@freacls I have looked but all the ones in my daughter's sizes are too expensive. My friend though said she can make them for like $50. so that is good with me. Lol.
Listen up! got ur attention?! good. I do pageamts. im 12. SOO FUNN!!! nothing like T&T!!!!

Or is it OK to dress them like whores only to get a crown or money???
trelenh 5 months ago
@wimberlyann85
Strange. I never knew dressing up your child in inappropriate clothing, getting them to shake their ass and tits or lack therof, was cute.
I also never thought dressing up a 5-10 yr old to look like a 16-18 yr old was cute either.
YamsRyu 5 months ago
@wimberlyann85 Clearly your an idiot. You've made a logical error. You think that if someone thinks something is inappropriate or too sexual for a child they find it sexually arousing. That's bullshit. If you look at that argument for even a second if you had any sense in your head (which obviously you don't ) you'd see how ridiculous it is.
If you think like that maybe you shouldn't be a mom
DanceDancing23 6 months ago
@DanceDancing23 Why don't you the "serious type" explain us why that argument was ridiculous...? Maybe we should be forced to dress our daughters like whores if we want to be moms one day...I hope you never have a daughter or if you do I hope she turns to be smarter than you...

@trelenh Dumbass I said I'm saying they shouldn't dress their daughters inappropriately. Learn to read.

@DanceDancing23 Well maybe I'm not even from your country DUMBASS (thank GOD)! How does that comment "Clearly your an idiot. You've made a logical error. Does it depend on what we think or high heels, belly buttons out and small tops make this a matter of opinion. Shithead!

@trelenh Your the shithead! Why don't you actually learn to properly understand english before you reply to other peoples comments.
No offense to anyone in them of course.

dear missbrittxx. thank you for finally telling people how pageants do no harm to the child and how they enjoy it. everybody is saying they are bad but they dont understand. they've never lived a pageant life and probally from the looks of it they hate it even more. but the more you watch you understand how this must be a good thing not bad.

My kids dont care if they win, they arent disappointed, they are just excited cause they got to visit with their friends. We are into pageants in southeast Missouri, where no one leaves empty handed. They get crowns, trophies or both. They are taught that everyone is beautiful and everyone wins
mandaree77 7 months ago
@mandaree77 Those are the kind I was in, the kids don't know the difference when they don't get money, all they want is a crown
KaelaBz 6 months ago
My 2 children are in pageants and they don't wear makeup, they do wear pretty dresses, and their hair is fixed, but only in a fashion that they would wear to church. They aren't forced at all. They have fun, make friends, and they enjoy it. How is that any different than them going to a stupid football game?? Its NOT !! How is that any different than parents or coaches pushing the kids to do better in sports, and if they dont do good on the field, they get their a**es jumped. I've seen it
mandaree77 7 months ago
You know what? I think you (the parents) are really asking for trouble. How dare you put your child into a pageant contest. What do you think they are, barbies? Babies are not barbies. If you put your innocent child through this, then your sick. REAL SICK PARENTS!!!
thr33wisemonks 7 months ago
The problem is that these children are growing up before their years. They are too young to be spending so much time having hair and makeup done. And the focus on outer 'beauty' achieved through false means can't be healthy for any developing individual. And to the idiot who said that these girls are smart enough to know that brains come before beauty, this is directly shaping their attitudes that they will carry with them through to later years. Go study child psychology.

Actually where in this video you see children that are undeniably having fun? All these pictures are from stage performances or situations where they are with people who expect them to like this. I think children are versatile and can thrive in almost every environment (they seem to have fun and can make the best of it) even if they were rather doing something appropriate for their age if they had the choice.

luvbluegirl93 9 months ago
Those children like to do pageants... Because they are trained to like them. They are taught superficiality. They are not taught to value themselves outside of their physical appearance. They are taught to be shallow.
Sad, but true, and that's quite damaging to children's INNER development - you know, what's not readily visible to the eye.
magickelise 9 months ago
"Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" Sorry if I keep reposting your question but it's just such a gift. Because there is enough focus on superficial beauty in our culture? Entering a child in a competition for 'most beautiful' is an invisible abuse because there are no winners. And what is worse? A losing child learning she is less because she lacks beauty or a winning child learning that is better than others because of her beauty?
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@lovemrdarcy Okay so you obiviously have never been involved with these pageants. I am 16 and have been in them all my life. Never once have I thought " I am less because I lack beauty." I have also never thought of myself as better than anyone else in any way. If anything, these pageants have taught me self confidence, the ability to learn quickly (from routines), and to be smile and be happy no matter what life throws at you. It has taught me to be "lady-like." It has taught me to have
Kasicheer 9 months ago
@Kasicheer You speak for yourself Kasicheer and good for you that you only got the good on it. But you cannot speak for anybody else. Again, this is not only my voice but the general agreement of people who actually study children development. For each one of you who throws the old .. I did it and I'm got awesome' there will be a dozen that will not be that luck. It's kind of sad that girls need beauty pageants to learn self confidence, smile and be happy " . Good parenting should be enough.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@Kasicheer Obviously, you know nothing but others but yourself. How can you know I never been involved in pageants? Because I think they do more harm than good? Maybe that's because I have been involved in pageants and saw sad consequences that makes me dismiss them. If anything maybe it's you that can not have a say on that. You obviously has been raised on it and could not see beyond your own experience. Having so much fun would probably blind you to anything else, right?
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@lovemrdarcy .. good posture (which is good for the health of your body.) It has taught me to cheer on others even as they are competing against me. It has taught me to alway do my best, and to be proud no matter what happens. These pageants are not all about beauty. They are about how much fun you have on stage.
In basketball, is one team not competing with another to see who is better? How is this any worse than pageants? Only one team wins right? In pageants there are soo many different
Kasicheer 9 months ago
@Kasicheer "Thought self confidence, smile and be happy no matter what life throws at you. It has taught me to be lady-like.. good posture... cheers on others ....do my best... be proud no matter what happens. "" Again, how very sad is that a girl may need a beauty pageant to achieve this. Good parenting should be enough. There is something really wrong with children and teenagers today if manners, pose, 'being lady like', be proud are not values taught at home but rather in glitz pageants.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@Kasicheer "In basketball, is one team ..blah, blah... is better? How is this any worse than pageants? Only one team wins right? In pageants there are soo many different" Oh dear. Please read my posts first. Go back and read my point on why a competition on beauty cannot possibly be compared to a sport competition. You can work harder to be a better basketball player, you cannot work harder to be 'more beautiful' unless you fake 'it' of course, like the plastic dolls on this vid.

Kasicheer 9 months ago

If you don't find the irony of your statement while defending this kind of competition, I doubt you are serious in you discussion.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@Kasicheer " Well, until you experience it all you, my friend, have no place whatsoever to talk." Imagine a world where you could not talk on things just because you not 'experienced all'. People have always have a right to talk. And they should. I don't need experience rape to talk about it. Or racism. Or good things. Once you are a witness to the things on your world, you actually have a right, and sometimes a duty to talk... I'm surprised they don't teach that at beauty pageants!
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@lovemrdarcy "rape, or racism or good things" awesome go get em more fuel.
drumm1019 8 months ago
@Kasicheer " Well, until you experience it all you, my friend, have no place whatsoever to talk." Oh yes, I do. I have a place as a woman that would wish that young girls where taught since early on that their confidence and pride would come from a panel of strangers judging their 'lady-like' manners, dresses and posture. I have a place because we already have a society that focus too much on 'book cover' beauty for adults and it's pitiful that it starts with children.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@Kasicheer "Don't judge a book by its cover, right?" You tell me. I see in this videos nothing but children being 'faked' in a better cover. How about in your next pageant you show up with only your wits and plain clothes? Walk your 'normal-like' in the aisle. Have a zit? leave it. Your teeth is less than perfect? Argument with the judges how awesome you are because of the pageants like you did here. And ask them not to judge you by your looks, a book by the cover. See how good you do!
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
"Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" The long-standing and overwhelming opinion in the psychology group is that children beauty pageant are not in the best interest of healthy child development, so this is not just about people picking on your pageant community or 'haters'. The critics could be wrong but if so, they would be losing an argument, you on the other hand has your child on the bet.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
"Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" Oh, thank you, that is a golden question. But is the pageant community honestly interested in hearing the why nots? Because when you enter in defense mode -- mostly you see our critic as an attack, I understand. And once you get in a defense mode, it's not really a matter of ponder on pros and cons but just a question of 'stand' for your side.... is this really a question?
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
5- For the 'natural' pageants... well, fair enough, at least you are not spraying chemicals on your child's skin, or fake nails, hair like they were a wax doll but still... the point remains that there is something wrong about putting children, girls, in competitions for 'most beautiful' . The message you are teaching your daughter -- and carrying to society -- is that women are valued by their appearance (what is true) and that is how it should be ( what is not. True.)
lovemrdarcy 10 months ago
@lovemrdarcy Couldn't agree more.
JellyKimSugarBoom14 10 months ago
4- Not even going on the dark side of how 'mature' these girls look. It's true. Heavy makeup, the suggestive gestures, the suggestive costumes and why on Earth child pageants have swimming suits competition? So they can show their 'hot' tanned bodies and emulate sexy gestures?? You are making your child display signs that are beyond their age. Believe me, this is not cute, it's disturbing
lovemrdarcy 10 months ago
3- For the eternal excuse that 'teaches them self esteem, make friends, builds confidence' ... well, there is a couple of flaws on this argument. First, there are plenty of healthier and much more efficient ways to achieve this. A sport -- where your daughter can exceed because of her skills not her looks -- a charity social group, girls scouts, so many channels that would teach your daughter that she is worth for what she is, not for what she looks like.
lovemrdarcy 10 months ago
2- To the eternal excuse that the child 'love' to be in pageants ... of course they do, what girl would not love to play hard core dress up complete with makeup, glitz, nails? But they also would love to eat candy for breakfast, stay up late and watch TV, play with fire. They do not have maturity to understand that not always what they like it's good for them, it's the parent job to make this distinction.
lovemrdarcy 10 months ago
1- One thing to parents to people who excuse this kind of competition by comparing to sports... no, it is not. In sports you win or lose based on your skills, you can always get better by training harder. Hide under whatever excuse you want but It is called 'BEAUTY' pageant for a reason: the value here is physical appearance so unless you count fake tan, hair, nails, plastic surgery, etc as 'sport skills' that your child can gain, this is not the same as soccer.
lovemrdarcy 10 months ago
@lovemrdarcy : 1-People call it a sport because you do have to work on skills in order to win, these girls train very hard, facial beauty is judged seperately, it is these skills that decide the winner, look at a score sheet for a pageant please..2- It is the parents job to make this distinction and that is why they allow their children to compete..3-Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?
PageantAunt2010 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 1- Again, no matter how you twist, the kids are judged mainly and foremost by how they look. It's called a BEAUTY pageant for a reason, either you wish to ignore it or not. For you to say that besides that other 'skills' are judged only adds to the point that it's not even enough for the child to be physically 'perfect' for the adult standards, they also have to blow perfect kisses, emulate adults in dance and gesture and whatever else you define as 'skill'.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 Unless you consider 'modeling skills' in same level of sport skills, it's hard to keep a straight face when someone tries to link this to a real sport. I did looked at the score sheet for a child beauty pageant and yes, I have to agree with you... it does take hard work for a child that does not stumble in their modeling, run around in the stage, cry or in other words... act like a child that she/he is. More to the point, besides 'beauty' the skill here is to emulate adults.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 "Yes there are other ways to achieve this but why not achieve it while competing in pageants?" Let's see. 1- Because if you put aside a sec your defense mode and really consider the points other people use to criticize this as not being a health way you may see that it's not worth the risk; 2- Because yes, it's a matter of opinion but not only from a random youtube user but from the psychology community. Again, if there are other forms, why risk it? To prove your point?
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@lovemrdarcy : and lastly, 4-Im sorry if you see swimsuits in a sexual way but that is your opinion, if you think that parents are having children show sexual gestures then again, that's your opinion, but like you said "it's the parents job to make this distinction", you can't expect everyone to think as you do. I'm not trying to start a "fight" or argument but honestly if you post something like this, it would be crazy not to expect a response from someone in the pageant community
PageantAunt2010 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 Of course I expected a response from someone in the pageant community and yours is the typical one. 1- Deny that the competition is about beauty? Check. 2- Try to link beauty pageant to sport? Check. 3- Try to excuse the blatant inappropriate mature content to the 'ugly mind' of whoever dare to say it? check. 4- Say that they do it because the child 'loves' it. Well, that is not a check but I'm guessing you fall into this one too.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 "Im sorry if you see swimsuits in a sexual way but that is your opinion" I don't see swimsuits in a sexual way... if you are using for a swim! But using swimsuit for parading the body is a grown up thing! it's not my opinion. It's common knowledge that in an adult beauty pageant, grown up women parade in front of an audience with no other purpose but to show their beautiful, sexually attractive bodies. Thus the question... what is the point of having the kids do it??? Emulate.
lovemrdarcy 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 "if you think that parents are having children show sexual gestures then again, that's your opinion". Again, no, it's not my opinion. It's common knowledge that certain gestures would never came naturally to an young child because they have no 'flirting' skills yet. Do one critical look at the routines being taught to these girls and you have to be painfully blind not to see how many of them clearly emulate gestures that are beyond their level of sexual maturity.

ameliaLOVESgiraffes 10 months ago
This is so gross, it dosnt matter if the children enjoy them for the time being or not, this crap is just for pedophiles to enjoy. And for their parents to look back and wish they were there again. What are you teaching them? to compete for their beauty and show off there fucking bodies. As a parent you should want to protect your kids this is not protection, its a waste of money and these kids are fake, show them off for what they really have. Your kids are more beautiful without makeup.
Azeliamazur1 11 months ago
Yes but you have to wear a lot of fake stuff so that you can parade in front of strangers that are judging you, and then be told whether or not you are beautiful or not. I won't deny that the kids enjoy it. What is so bad is that they shouldn't. The parents are too stupid to realize that they are sending a 6 year old girl out in fake hair, eyelashes, tan, makeup, and wearing a bikini, (even though the have no breasts to fill it out!) That, is my definition of a baby whore :)

JellyKimSugarBoom14 10 months ago
@JellyKimSugarBoom14 : Hun, honestly, pedophiles are everywhere As disgusting as it is there are many types of pedophiles and many are not attracted to children who "look like adults" you are more likely to find more pedophiles at a family beach than at a pageant, and most pageants are closed events which do not allow just anyone to come and watch. These children know theyre beautiful with or without makeup, have you ever talked to a pageant girl, I have and I am one, so I know first hand.
PageantAunt2010 9 months ago
@PageantAunt2010 OK, I gotta speak up on this. I've working with sex offenders in a prison and what they're attracted to is they find the child's body arousing so even if they're made up to look like an adult if they're not full developed physically a pedophie will be attracted to them. And pedophiles are attracted to anything that gives them access to potential victims. This is why they're usually teachers or camp counselors. A pageant is a magnet for them simply because they include children.

You can't place all pageant girls into groups and label them wrong, abused, etc. I am sure the ones that have a problem with it either: A. know nothing about pageants or B. had a bad experience with them or even C. are misinformed and have let some media garbage influence their opinion. If children find them fun and WANT to do them, I see no problem with it.
atwistedpoetfreak 1 year ago 2

Its wrong! Parents wtf is wrong with you?
shandelable 1 year ago
@shandelable Ok seriously I am in pageants! I am 11 years old and I love them! They are not terrible! And most of the time its not the parents ideas to put them in pageants. The kids say that they want to. Just like I did! So back off!
XxlovescookiesxX 1 year ago
@XxlovescookiesxX , That's why 11-year-olds aren't allowed to make adult decisions - like putting children in makeup and short skirts. Adults know what kind of society we live in. You don't. Think about it.
blibjorb 1 year ago
@blibjorb Ok seriously. You arent in pageants so you shouldnt be talking. And have you ever been to a pageant live! Huh have ya. Well you know what. You havent because not all pageants are like that. And Its one of my hobbies so dont like, dont comment. Shut up and backoff, If you gotta problem with my hobby for pageants then dont comment. Kk you got that?

@shandelable wtf is wrong with you? Bitching about pageants on a 3 minute youtube video. You cannot judge something by a youtube video, that's like me judging you as mean and stuck up if you're a cheerleader. You're wrong, get over it.

How is teaching a little girl that the most important thing in life is to look pretty in any way, beneficial to her or society in general? These pageants breed mindless stupid women. Sad.
blibjorb 1 year ago
@blibjorb So true! This is nothing more then pedophilia disguised as childrens pageants. People are such idiots!!
sylvianfripp 1 year ago
@sylvianfripp Are you talking about yourself sweet cheeks? If you don't like them don't watch them, idiot. It's not flipping rocket science. And you have no idea how wrong you are. If you think like that then there's something wrong with you, not the pageants, the parents or the kids but you. Fucking weirdo. Pageants are fun and teach good life skills. If you've never competed in a pageant then you are in no position to talk.

I have a pageant resale site that is open to everyone on Facebook. Go to Facebook and search ALL THAT SAPRKLES PAGEANT RESALE... you are sure to find a dress there and if no one has one check out the pages favorites list.

celebfans11 1 year ago
It's not about what they like or not. It's the message they get for the rest of their life. It's all about looks, fake stuff to "enhance" your beauty, flirting and so on. Ofcourse they like it. It's what they are tought to like. That's exactly the scary part.

i love pageants and i really want to be in them so if i do join pageants my mom wouldn't be forcing me. some pageant moms do force their children to be in them.. but thats a rare case senario. the reasons why moms dont force their children to be in pageants is because its costing them money out of their banking accounts and pockets. so some moms would be happy if their children didnt like the pageants
honey67589 1 year ago 3
I really like this video! Bravo! And I agree that these kids do love these pagents.... but not all of them. But thats the case in many things such as, gymnastics, dance, soccer and everything else! So why do people atack the pagents so much? As long as the kids are staying clean in thier rutines and are having fun whats bad about that? AMAZING job<3

@acdcrocker19 its by christina aguleria and its either called circus or join the circus.

How do you know they like them? Did you ask?? I still think it is sad! :(
JBLuv99 1 year ago
I think pagents are sexest. Little girls looking like twice their age, its stupid. Lets kids be kids. Don't make them little flirts that young!

Though some kids really enjoy them

Why would anyone want their prepubescent daughter to be dolled up like a grown woman (fake teeth/hair, spray tans, makeup) it's gross. Why not invest in their future by putting the money it costs to participate in a pageant into a college trust fund or positive extracurricular activity like violin lessons or ballet, help these girls build actual skills instead of teaching them at such a young age that they are good for nothing but being "eye candy".
0ddGIRL0ut 1 year ago
@0ddGIRL0ut I agree, I believe that yes some children do enjoy pageants but also a lot of them are also forced to do it, my friend was forced when she was 3 and hated it, that's just my opinion
lolepopgirl 1 year ago
@lolepopgirl my 6 year old neice cant get enough of pageants she does them in her sleep lol but theirs a lil boy whos forced to do martial arts even being made train when injured so its not just pageants but my neice adores pageants
freacls 1 year ago 15
@freacls THAT DOESNT MAKE SENSE
snittybuck 1 year ago
@0ddGIRL0ut eye candy is not what is being taught, you are missing the point the emphasis is on performance the makeup and things are just the same thing as a uniform for the sport, if you are not going to come prepared do not attempt to play the game, grown women? I have never seen a grown woman in a dress with a cupcake skirt on LOL they would look pretty silly and when I was in ballet I had to wear fake hair to make my hair bun the same as everyone else's and makeup
hogwartspta 1 year ago 2
the dance school would not let us on stage without such things and the costumes covered allot less than pageant clothes do , hows about looking at reality for a moment rather than reality tv
hogwartspta 1 year ago 3
Thank you MissBritt, for being honest about what it is but also about being honest that a lot of girls love to do it!
While I have seen mothers literally dragging their daughters onstage (and those are the ones that make the rest of us look bad), my daughter has been doing pageants for over 3 years and LOVES IT!! Her last pageant she was literally falling asleep before she got on stage but when she got up there BAM! she lit up. She won Supreme after all of that :).
SOME GIRLS LOVE IT!

Does anyone know where I can find cheap affordable pageant dresses? My daughter is going into her second one in May.
