Wow..How can I forget this episode? Why? I was in the studio audience when on camera when Mel runs up and hugs the lady. I'm the guy sitting to the left with a blue zip up sweater with a white t-shirt under it. OMG....I was so young and still in my 20's! /cry I miss those days! The funny thing is, when Mel ran up I thought how old he looked up close and in person...now I would have thought how young he looks...LOL
@alaindiazaran Danny spoke during the first segment, which I unfortunately can't upload. I had the first 2 segments on a separate tape (I wasn't managing my VHS tape space very well back then), and I lost it somewhere over the years. I explained in the description on the first upload (which is actually the show's THIRD segment) that Danny talked about his daughter, and sending her to Jamaica with her boyfriend, which of course led to what was possibly Mel's worst pun ever :-)
@xxdiogenescynicxx Are you saying it wasn't him on the tape? Because not even Mel is saying it wasn't him on the tape. And by the way, what he said on the tape and how he thinks he can treat another human being is terrible. If you can't see that past his good looks well....fine. I do think she set him up but he said the words. He said the threats. He can't defend that. She needed proof and she got it. Hope this saves her life. And I hope this sicko gets help for his mental illness.
@DebbyNJ I am not just saying that he was set up by her but he was set up by the media as well. Also, I wouldn't doubt that if you taped anyone in a fit of anger they would say things that they would later regret. I just a person by deeds not words, which is much more important. They went after him because his stance on our foreign policy and all the damn money we give to Israel.
@xxdiogenescynicxx No I disagree. We will just have to disagree. Mel to me comes off as an OJ type. As I said, I hope he gets the help he needs to become a decent, safe human being.
@DebbyNJ I don't think Mel is near as bad as some people think he is. I'd say it's more likely that he suffers from alcoholism & bi-polar disorder cuz i've seen people like that up close & he definitely has all the signs. It would also explain alot of his recent violent outbursts. I think he's a good man that just hasn't dealt with his problems very well & probably just needs a lil therapy & medication to get back on track.
