@Photonzos Mate the ambulances of the time worked on the grab and run principal. If it was hanging of the casualty, leaking or a funny shape. They bunged a bandage on it. Slung them on a stretcher with a nice red blanket to hide the blood and then drove like the clappers for the A&E. For that kind of thing you don’t need much kit. And yes lots of people died as a result of this way of doing things.
The Diesel loco featured in the film was EE Type 4 Class 40 diesel no D318 (later 40118). It's still in existance at the Birmingham Railway Museaum at Tyseley currently undergoing restoration. The original Great Train Robbery loco D326 (40126) was scrapped at Doncaster Works in 1984. Great film with some classic actors by the way.
An excellent Brit.film - I hadn't even heard of it before, so thanks for uploading it. Super casting and acting give the thieves presence and credibility, and the scenes are handled expertly as well. Much prefer this one to the Italian Job..
I'm trying to understand how this is working...so
Yaah! You're an ITV (or any other company) / Youtube (Google) test subject as tv shifts into the internet. Enjoy these AD free movies while you can.
I'm still trying to figure out ITV and BBC and other companies blocking tactics on tv website content. They always block their website tv content from anyone outside the U.K
God, what a great heist movie!, a tough no nonsense kinetic thriller that knows its purpose, with no stupid sideshows. Great, script, direction and photography, Stanley Baker is excellent as the ultra cool mastermind. A million thanks for this, i will surely check out Stan in your other offer
@Theforestbandit modern remakes are always shite! Name me one that isn't in the bargain bins within 3 months. Get Carter, Italian Job, Alfie, whicker man - all crap. Why? The only aspect of film that has improved is CGI special effects. Everything else, writing, acting, screenplay, production and direction is much much worse because of reliance on CGI. Remakes are made because nobody has got an idea of their own and audiences are dumber and can't tell the difference between shit and clay.
Another great one that I've missed over the years brought to life by you guys. Joanna Pettet looked delicious in this. I think British women are hot! Peter Yates, R.I.P. Thanks a million!
It is great to see London how it should be remembered - not a foreign car or multiculturalism in sight.

The first bit was a little bit of a let-down - I thought that it was a time bomb that they had planted in his car.

Thanks.
I thought myself well informed about British films of this era but I'd not even heard of it before.
Clearly a long neglected gem.

Good god I thought I was one of the few people who thought this.
Current generation is brain dead... in perpetual retro mode. They cant rub two brain cells together to come up with an original idea.
There was actually an Alfie remake? i just remember see it as a kid and one of the reasons I got attached to UK content when I was a kid

a kinda goofy opening, in which an abulance whisks away two accident victims without anybody saying a word!
CIRCUS OF FEAR with christopher lee and klaus kinski came first---with a very similar opening robbery that ROBBERY maybe ripped off!
