Wow, I'm, like, completely the opposite. I hate cleaning dishes or loading the dishwasher, because everything has partially consumed food on it that may have been there up to 4 days, and it's really gross, but I find organizing and putting all the dishes in their place to be relaxing. I know that doesn't help at all. Just a thought.
this may be stuppid but i just organize my dishes when i put them in then its shorter to put them away and i dont have to spend all day going back and forth with that crap
I cannot believe you are complaining about unloading a dishwasher. OMG! You must be the laziest person in the world! Sheesh! Do you know how to use a stove or do you just push buttons on the microwave? - You probably don like doing that either. I could NEVER be married to you!
Nothing cathartic? Do you know how much joy I get stacking 5-10 of the same white clean dinner plates in a perfect Williams-Sonoma stack so I can see them through the glass of my cabinet? I love it!
Put some music on and make it into a dance party! Invite your family to join you!
Dividing it up into parts makes it easier, too. Do the bottom rack, or just the silverware, then go do something else for a little while. Come back and do another chunk. Rinse and repeat!
I think 3shades deserves the prize. Sounds like great fun to get everyone together and have a dance/cleaning party.
Ya know...I've found that a huge cure for my depression alot of the time is when I stop isolating myself and spend time with my family. I am by nature an introvert but fate would have it that I ended up with five kids, and a husband. Get together and fellowship! It's great.
How funny to find this in your videos today. Just a couple of hours ago, I was telling my daughter that I HATE emptying the dishwasher! She's lucky.. her 9 year son (my grandson) empties hers. Just another reason why my grandson needs to come visit. I need him to empty the dishwasher for me.
I empty the dishes out onto the counter, and then slam that thing closed. Then I go ahead and put the stuff away. Seems quicker and easier when I'm not bending over the dishwasher after every dish.
You said in the video that it was satisfying to actually wash the dishes because you kind of "accomplished" something (tomatos, no tomatos) - well, think of the dishwasher as something that is "dirty" (it's full of dishes, but it SHOULD be empty) - by "cleaning it (emptying it), you are ACCOMPLISHING something... you have, in some soert of way, made the dishwasher "complete".
Lady, I WiSH I could tell you how to make that more enjoyable, but I am just like you. I HATE unloading that thing!! Maybe you can call that nice chinese man to do it for you. Its a simple job. Maybe get him to do some mopping after you do the sweeping, ya know. Just to help you out. LOL
Hilarious! If you're really willing to reach (or just really lonely), try personifying your dishes and giving them life stories - i.e. "This is Bernie the bowl. He used to live with Patti the plate, but had a midlife utensil identity crisis so he left her for Cal the coffee cup. ...Wait, Bernie, she sees you! Run to the coffee cups, bernie, RUN!!" Then, you'll get done really quickly (running), enjoy it, AND make new friends (imaginary, alas)!
YESSSSSS, I hate unloading the dishwasher and my parents and sister always laugh at me because of it. I'M NOT ALOONEEE :D

Play a favorite song and see if you can have the whole thing done by the end of a song.

Wait till the kids grow up a bit, then have them unload the dishes. That's what my parents did.

Woohoo! Someone else with the same irrational loathing for emptying the dishwasher! Give me *anything* else to do around the house.
