Funny. It's all the "smart" people that created the problem in the first place. Maybe the afflicted should be calling the shots on whether the progeny of the lunatics who caused it all are too much of a "burden" on society. I understand the doctor's argument, but it's fucked up. They're not the only ones. America has a history of a privileged special sort of stupid people at the top that have totally screwed over its people and country as well. Fuck them all.
This is sad, and add the DU dust in the middle East, Balkans, soon, everyone will be shopping with rad detectors, and glyphosate detectors, and chasing their animals around from the more 'effected' areas... to 'safer' zones... our governments haven't just failed us, they have condemned us with their blind greed, lust for power and insane desire for utter control, and in the process, they have forsaken the whole planet! The consequences are airborne, persistent, and inescapable!
I don't feel against what the doctor is doing.A lot of people may think it is inhuman. You would feel how painful it is if you have a family member who is disabled and what kind of burden it is.It's difficult cos I doubt most of you who commented don't physically have a disabled family member.
One thing I can't understand from the film is, if the govt knows the radiation is bad for the people, why doesn't the govt remove the resident from Polygon? Is it another after radiation experience?
This is a real nightmare! This doctor pushing pregnant women into a terrible decision instead of helping them! He should fight against the cause of a possible genetic defect instead of the consequences. The question is not if women should be allowed to give birth - the question is if people should be allowed to live at such a place.
The way this woman has been trated is just another supplemential abuse on top of doing these tests long time ago.
Those are some awful doctors, pushing Eugenics. The fact of the matter is Sparta's selective breeding led to their extinction. If they had their way none of you would have been born...

Seems like S.T.A.L.K.E.R is based on a real story... Huh.

Is this not more about Foetal Alcohol Syndrome than radiation.
Seems to me that the local Vodka maker has told them that Vodka will protect them.
