All traditional catholics receive a requiem mass before they are burried. Provided they are Catholic. One of the props for being a catholic, and entire mass offered up for yourself.

Today I went to the Requiem-Mass for the 3 FSSPX-seminarists who died during a snow incident a few days ago. Eric's music has helped me very much to live the H. Mass as it was meant to be, I fully understood each word of the sacred liturgy and was able to pray in a fitting way for those three young men who passed away too soon.

They were caught in an avalanche, 3 out of 4 died, they had just said H. Mass that morning and had set out into the snow. FSSPX churches everywhere in the world held Requiem Masses no doubt. I personally visited 2 of them; a High Mass and a Low Mass.
