I think everybody might not get it but I think it's a great reinterpretation of the song especially since it reminds people that the connection between classical and metal is closer than people think.
"a traditional English ballad" . yes, yes i knew it all this fucking 25 wasted years from the album that IM were playing country on it-my fav is that great blue grass opening of somewhere in time track.

I`m not sure what it is, maybe a mandocello, but they are commonly known as Irish Bouzouki to differentiate from the Greek instrument. On the other hand, I am pretty sure that Beth is a cutie, with a voice, and knows where to put her fingers :)
@rikudou22 1)i liked it! 2) i'm sorry cause finally IT IS a bouzouki, but irish! BUT NOTHING LIKE GREEK BOUZOUKI (the original). listen manolis hiotis! you will be surprised! they are so similar like the italian and the irish pizza!
It's a flat back bouzouki, known outside Ireland as an Irish Bouzouki. The one I play was made in 1978 by Andy Manson specifically for traditional Irish music. They have become popular over the years for use in a wide range of international folk. The 10 stringed version is an English cittern.
@pandarsson So? It's called Irish "bouzouki" mate :P No matter the modifications it's still a bouzouki and its origin is greek. It doesn't really matter though :) Irish ppl are brothers \m/

tamale just needs to be educated. I've seen her many times and she's the best show in NOLA. She has a lot of originals that will blow you away plus she stands up there for three hours straight, no break, and belts them out. And if tamale is from a different planet and doesn't like that, she also has stand up comedy thrown in between! Well that's just a natural occurrence for her, but that humor comes out in her parody songs. Don't miss her!

@pandarsson where the word comes from is of no matter at all in this specific examble. The ancestor instruments of bouzouki were greek and bouzouki is greek made. You see though that after 400 years of Turkish dominion in Greece many of their words remain. Thats sad, if you want my opinion, but it's a fact :P If anyone dares to say that the Turkish horde of that age was more civilized and musically cultured than the Greeks of the same period let him say it.
