I lost all interest in games a couple of years ago, yet my interest was reborn playing some psx games on a friends xbox. Prior to that, my knowledge on modding was limited to my chipped psx.(good ol $10 a game days).

Thanks for the website, ill be checking it out, and if all goes well ill be decking out an xbox for old games. I never did get to finish FF8, after ten years, i just might.

this is awsome man. i gave up my cube ages ago because of uni.

a while after i went to a friends and he had an xbox that could play snes, sega, psx games. pretty bad ass. prior to that my modding beliefs were limited to my old psx mod which could play burnt games (good ol $10 a game days).

This is not the X3 control panel that just clips on. It's a full case mod and no it can't be done without using a modchip.

XBMC (xbox media centre) is the name of the app running as the new dashboard. Check out xbox-scene for details on where and how to install it.

on xbox 1 brand new change the hdd and bios then go online andf you wount gte banned because you motherboard and hdd get married after the swap and you can use a 1tb hdd in xbox i think you cant use 1tb in ps2 that sucks

I think the Xbox only supports up to 500GB of HDD space.

As far as I can remember the largest hard drive most hacked BIOS can handle is in excess of 2TB. It is definitely more than 500GB though.

This video was taken way back in 2006 when I had a 200GB drive installed in it. I don't use the hard drive for storing movies/videos/music anymore since I now use XBMC to stream everything from my PC. If your modded xbox is networked and running XBMC then there's really no need for a hard drive bigger than the standard 8GB it came with.

Actually a modded xbox 1 with the latest build of XBMC installed is far superior to the 360 as a networked media centre. There is so must more you can do with it compared to a 360. Obviously 360 is better for gaming but thats about it. I have both anyway.

no-one ever got banned for a hd upgrade or zeven useing a modchip in the original xbox, that was only a myth, ms just started banning people on the 360 (in wich they did have a security measure built in) but its only a matter of time before they can bypass that and make sure u wont get banned from live ...

Not true, instant ban for upgrading the HD on an xbox 1 and also instant ban for using a hacked BIOS (ie modchip or flashed TSOP). The HD and mobo of xbox 1's were married recorded together the first time you used Xbox Live so any change after that resulted in a banned Xbox (ie hd upgrade or swap). You can only use xbox 1's online with a retail BIOS (ie the modchip has to be turned off).

Just the x3ce chip. The rest of the parts are individual components (screen, IR remote etc) that have been added over time. check the video description for more details of whats in there.

It's not as simple as that. You'll need to go to the XS forums and do a LOT of reading up on modchip installs/flashing BIOS etc. Start in the newbie FAQ section and take it from there.

Personally I don't like the X3CP (looks a bit weird IMO) but it is easier to install so maybe a better choice for you if you're not so good at case mods etc.

Nope, most if not all hardware mods will require you to solder components/wires to the xbox mobo.

XBMC, nice. You should get the Tech build, it's allot nicer. I like the blue theme you got going there, it's something I've been trying to get but I can't figure out the bios. How much did you waste on the chip, panel, and LED's? Nice though.

Thanks. The video is from a while ago and I usually update xbmc every month to the latest build. I use the mc360 skin now too with looks even better. All the bits needed for the mods cost around £80 total. You can get cheaper stuff now though. Go to xbox-scene if you need any help with modding etc.

Yeah you can still play on Live as long as its switched off. All you do is hold the power button down when switching the xbox on and it boots to the original bios with the chip deactivated.
