Black humor is probably uncalled for but he was never particularly in time to start with :-)
My old man had brain surgery and it pretty much killed him - though it took years for it to happen. I dont mean to mock Ken at all - just thought it was funny in a dark way.
im glad the crowd was respectful of him. obviously it wasnt much of a solo, but paying respect and honor to a legendary drummer. im sure he felt great back on the stage even if was for just a few moments. my horns proudly held ken! \m/
It's amazing he had the courage to do it and awesome the crowd cheered him on. if it weren't for him and other pioneering extreme drummers, we wouldn't have the drumming of today. Hope you continue your recovery.
@marorococa - before you show your ignorance, you could have looked him up and known, next time don't be a twit.
I bet he`s having fun re learning drums though....learning to play was the most fun part of guitar for me. Way to be a turely positive inspiration Ken, musically and in your strength!
I can't believe how much his playing has been affected by his injury. I used to watch the DVD (wake up and smell the carcass) of them playing Corporal Jigsore Quandary. I used to play guitar and was obsessed with Bill Steer's playing (still am) and I remember thinking that Ken Owen was Godly on the drums. So fast and the way he used to use the double kick was so orignal. He wouldn't just blast his way through tunes, he would used to use his double kick very tastefully.
To marorococa, i think the right question is: who the fuck are you??? you fag!!!. For those of you who dont fucking know who this guy is, hes one of the founders of Carcass... He was the original drummer, you emokids!
I was in tears watching him do this. It was a cruel twist of fate that robbed us of one of the best drummers of our generation. It's great to see he still has the passion to want to play. It would have been so easy to give up in those situations but he batteled through it. What a man,
pretty damn impressive for someone who went through all that

It´s so honorable to see him play the drums again after the horrible experience he went through, this is very inspiring and emotional!
