Wow, I travelled around in Estonia 10 years ago and remember the Central Rotermann district well; for sure they've turned the ugly bad into something very positive!
@gleefanatic2011 Estonia was never communistic under their own rule. The Soviets occupied them for 50 years. It wasn't their choice. You're extremely arrogant.
Do you know that JESUS CHRIST can give you everlasting life ? - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Turn to Jesus !
@trollionaire Soviets destroyed any chance of them being a developed country by now? Yes, that's why they have the lowest debt in Europe, one of the fastest growing economys and extremely technologically advanced. If the Soviets hadn't occupied them they would be a European leader, but even after the Soviets, they have rebuilt strong.
@Xarieus estonians are very resilient people, very smart too, good at maths, computers, languages, most ive met can speak really good english. but the soviets did hold them back like they did to every satellite state they occupied. so yes they would be a developed country by now if not for the soviets, regardless of low debt which doesnt necessarily mean much (picture a homeless man with low debt). but at least what the soviets did to ukraine did not happen in estonia
I have had the pleasure of studying together with a few Russian people that I'm really proud of knowing. They have excellent (Latvian) language skills and they respect the country they live in, yet the haven't lost their identity (they're fans of both Latvia's and Russia's hockey teams, haha). I wish all people - no matter what nationality - were like them. :)
About the video - strange is that I've never been in the old part of Tallinn; looks like this summer will be perfect for visiting it.
@diealldie well duh. why would you go there to live if you didn't know the language? that's not being racist. to tell you the truth, if you want to work in the US or any other English speaking country you gotta be able to speak some English. I bet Estonian is a hard language to learn. earn you way in there.
Not really. Estonia's economy is a lot better than the almost all the ex-soviet union satellite states. Countries around Ukraine/Romania has probably one of the highest human trafficking in the EU.
@aaroethagree It has the highest human trafficking in the EU because of the Russians sneaking across the border. It also has the lowest debt in Europe (even lower than Switzerland).
Our Culture Capital project has failed because city government is just wasting money on their own propaganda and are not making any efforts to make this year and memorable... Quite sad.
I would love to go to Estonia someday.

@Xarieus well the fact that they were under communist rule for 50 years makes estonia a former soviet colony. So touche, douche.
