This is probably close to what Rogers and Hammerstein intended. I don't recall if she did the Broadway version of State Fair. Most of the versions I heard of this were Jazz versions so it was nice to hear it originally and with the intro. I never cared for Danny Thomas or Make Room for Daddy. He was kind of scary because he was always yelling all the time. Yikes! What a nice piece of film here. Thanks for the post.

when I was 5 years old watching her in The Music Man, I thought I'd die, I was so much in love with her. Ronnie Howard was so lucky to be in that movie with her. --->Fast forward to 2007, saw her in solo Concert in Waltham MA at the high school. Terrific show, she is very tiny I got to be close up to Shirley. I also had a crush on her step-son David Cassidy, also her other sons.
