  • my scootish terrier died 10 months ago :(

  • Hi firefly. I lost my 14 year old Scottie in December. I envy you for having these pictures. I guess I thought my Duffy was going to live forever because I have very few pictures of him. I hadn't intended to get another dog, but decided I couldn't live happily without another wee Scots boy. I have Angus now, but I think of my Duffy everyday.

  • We just put down our Scotty named Louie a few days ago. Watching this video is making me cry thinking of him. Mac looked like a great dog and I wish Louie and Mac had known one another. I think they would have had a blast together.

  • This is a beautiful & touching video. It brought back memories of my Scottish Terrier, Scotti. I lost him 2 1/2yrs ago at the age of 10. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him or miss him.

  • this is sad i have a scottie female katie i love her to death.

  • doggiez should never die... < : {

  • this video made me cry.......im so sorry for your loss

  • My family and I love animals, they have an scottie terrier, 7 years old, she was a great friend all this years, now I'm studying in other part of the country. I miss them so much....

Your scottie Mac made cry as I didn't in a long time, It's really hard to lose a friend like this... This video touch me deeply

Keep the memory of Mac alive, and the best wishes for you from Argentina,

  • My scottie was well one day and gone the next broke my heart!....but he lived 15 years so no so bad

  • sorry you lost your Mac I bet you have wonderful memories of him....

  • bless those two!

  • I lost angus my ten year old last night as i was rushing him to the vet, He literally died in my arms. That guy got me through some of the hardest times in my life....Its hard as hell to lose such a great dog.

  • Hi my name is Stephen and I used to have two scotties one of them was name Krisy and the other was Duffy and they were just the greatest dogs I have ever come to have they were both my mom's and we have had scotties since I was about a new born and seeing this just brings back so many memories like firefly of how much fun and how loving they were to me and my family members and we really y miss both of them

  • This vid reminds me of my beagle that passed away 4 years ago. (she had lung cancer) then a year afterwards, God rewarded my suffering with with 2 beautifull scottish terriers. :, ) God answered my prayer and eased my pain.

  • This video made me tear up :(

I've had my scotty, Angus, since I was 8 (I'm now 21), and he has recently gone deaf :( It breaks my heart to see him so tired, but there are days where he's as energetic as a puppy again and I get teary eyed just thinking of losing him :( He's the only dog I've been old enough to have a bond with and I'm scared to death of losing him.

Scotties are such great dogs; thank you for posting this video <3

  • Epic beard. He's so lovely. How did he die? Was he sick?

I always confuse kerry blues with schnausers, btw.

  • My Scottie Shane died in June of this year. Devastated isn't the word. He was 12 when he went, if he'd strung it out a month longer he'd have been 13. I stayed up with him all night on his last night, as I knew there was something wrong with him. Watching this made me cry, as Scottie's truly are the best kind of dog. Time can pass as quickly or slowly as it likes, but I will never, ever forget Shane. I thought of him as a 12 year old puppy. RIP Shane, Mac & all the other wonderful Scotties lost.

  • Ah, consolations... My Scottie Abbie died when she was 12. She was my heart and soul, but it was her time. I now have a new rescue female Scottie who is a wonderful wonderful girl too (some vids here of her - look under Andee) - we also had a male named Angus who had lymphoma and only lived to be 10. These guys really 'own' you... You don't own them! I will always miss my Abbie, but my new girl Andee is doing really well at helping me heal!

  • what song is this? btw mac is beauty! this is a sweet video :[

  • What happened to him? He seems to look quite healthy and full of life

  • I'm am sorry for your loss. A dog is truly man's best friend. He was a beautiful scottie.

  • So sad, made me cry :'(

  • @fireflymichigan sorry to hear about Katie mate, i feel your pain its like losing a family member! My son was 3 a couple of weeks ago so not long now for a scottie! i'm gonna wait till he's 5 so he can appreciate him abit more but i myself would have 10 now LOL all the best mate and take care R.I.P Katie

  • hi (i dont speak english) i love my dog.

it's my life if she dies i die too. I love my dog its my company.

Your dog its awesome; meme (my scottie) send kisses jijiijijji

  • @chupicidio Hi mate, Enjoy your scottie meme, they have so much to give, All the best .

  • @theHatchett1 By all your answers, all your scotties have an average life span of 12 to 13 years. Mine is today 10 and half. I am already worried. I cry sometimes when I watch your videos. She is a little too fat like 2 kilos over so I put her on a diet. I love her . She takes my sadness away and I am so happy I have her. She has a Pedigree. I doubt if I would have another one. She is not replaceble.

  • @junggle1994 Hello mate, you will always have her in your heart and all the memorys to cherish. Its not about replacing her, its the breed i find i cant do without, my bruce was not replaceble but i just want another scottie as they match my personality. take care.

  • buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    its sadesly buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

sorry for the dead of you dog mac whitelawbuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I'm very glad to find this. I had a scottie when I was growing up that we lost to cancer when I was 13. My husband and I brought home a baby Scottie a little over 13 years ago and she is in her final days now. She has cancer that has spread to her lungs. They hold our hearts forever.

  • I just lost my Scottie yesterday and just happened to see this video. Thanks for posting this.

  • @Yankee4Life I am so sorry, that you lost your Scottie. I had one, Bonnie, that left me, in 2003. I miss that little brat so much. Not a day goes by, where I dont think about her. Be strong, because it is tough to deal with.

  • You are lucky to have this video. I have a picture of my dogs the last week that they were together, the oldest passed a few days later. I would not trade anything for that picture.

  • @jm72th sorry about that that really stinks have you copied the picture and have it on a computer?

  • im sorry for your lost oneoakstreet.

  • When the fourteen years that nature permits

Are closing in asthma or tumors or fits

And the vet's unspoken prescription runs

To lethal chambers, or loaded guns.

Then you will find -- its your own affair --

You've given your heart to a dog to tear.

  • @b1msgj43 thats is the most beautiful thing man! i wanna cry now...my scottie died when i was in 7th grade im going to be in 10th this year...and he died fairly young for his breed scotties live AT LEAST 11 years and he was 8 in fact it was about a month after his 8th birthday he was born september 2 and he died early october he was sick

  • Nice. So precious. There's nothing like being owned by a Scottie. I lost my Raven yesterday.

  • This very special to me because I had a black scottish Terrier who passed away on March 12, 2009. His name was Smokey. He reminds me so much of him. He looks like a wonderful dog. He will be missed. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

  • i'm planning on getting one, im sorry 4 ur loss im sure his spirit watches over u and the family :)

  • @TakerBride777 lol. he looks wise beyond his years

  • he looks like a schnauzer

  • I like scotties. I used to have one. They are great at keeping vermin away. I'd like to try having another one again.

  • emotional video , i live in scotland have a scottish terrior 4 yrs old , sturban but my best pal couldn live without him. rip mac , feel owners pain :(

  • I always liked BIG dogs but this breed is tops in my mind now having had several from rescue society;s and older female breeder's they have such a heart and full life to the end mine aso 12 years

  • i have a 12 years scotish, i want to film it evry week to have a video like yours. sorry for your loss, and scottish are a very cool breed.

  • my sister scottish terrier has been killed in cold blood by the pit bull of a careless owner 5 days ago. she was the best dog i ever knew and will be avenged. it was not the first time this dog owner had his dogs making trouble. i will not be at peace until daisy is avenged from this horrible fate.

  • @stromghouls oh my gosh =[ some people have no care for what thier dogs dogs do... =[ i am truly sorry for your loss . I also lost my baby last year to cancer she would have been 20 a week after she died =[

  • @MRSOMGL I am so sorry about Sally. My Scottish terrier Duncan is still fighting cancer after eight months. He's got two lung tumors very large. The vet says he is a miracle. I cannot even deal with the fact he won't live much longer. I hope your pain eases. I know how hard that love is to lose.

  • Sorry about your loss. I lost my Scottie due to pelvic cancer.

  • We had to put down our 16 year old scottie, Sally day before yesterday. The pain of losing her is simply unbearable. She had cancer and had fought long and hard with such dignity. She was the fourth scottie that we have had. Watching your video brings back the joy of the many wonderful memories of the playful days that Sally had when she was well. Our lives have been blessed by these sweet and precious dogs, haven't they? We are all the better for that.

  • obviously this scottie enjoyed every minute of his life

  • Bless him, wish i had video of my two Scotties last days. wish they were as happy as macs. He looks like my Harry. 12 years old like my Harry was when he passed.

  • What a lovely boy he was - and feisty to the end. Their passing is hard - you hold them as they go and part of you goes with them.

  • Kindof a weird shame that this happens, because all the full life doggies seem fine and healthy before they die, however a lot of humans basically turn into fruits and go mad before we die.. really sucks

  • @Pawnbroker00 I kno!

  • I dont know how you do it if my scottie (Lucy) ever passes i dont think ill be able to last a week. One time she was limping and it scared the crap out of me that same day i made my dad take her to the doctors and it turned out she just had artheritus but it opend my eyes to how quickly a dogs life is i mean it seems like yesterday we were sitting around her trying to think of a name and my mom

  • reciently passed so Lucy has been like my only friend and i love her to death and i dont thing ill ever be able to part with her because no new dog could ever take her place she will ALWAYS stay in my mind, heard, and soul. But im so sorry for your loss :(

  • We had a Scottish terrier, Bonnie, she passed in 1999. The new family Scottie Duffy was born 2003. Both characters, both totally different. Scotties are my favorite breed.

  • my grandmother's scottie died of liver failure in 2005. She was 7 months old. May she R.I.P. It is wierd because all of the pups in the litter were fine:(

  • I just had to have my Wheaten Scottish Terrier put to sleep on 01/22/2010 due to renal failure. He was 15 and 1/2. He was a wonderful companion for all of those years. His name was Bertie and I miss him very much after two weeks. Bertie was more than a dog, he was like a person! He had a very strong personality and was very stoic even in his last days. The grief of losing him is almost unbearable at times. He was so sweet and kind and caring. He was a "little gentleman". May he RIP.

  • @theold1955 Im so sorry. I feel the pain that you have. I lost my scotty on 3/12/09. To a Liver/Kidney related problem. I was there when it happened. He was on one couch and I was on another. He looked up to see if someone was with him, and I was. He was a wonderful dog. he will be missed. So sorry for your loss!

  • @smokeyconyers thank you so much for writing! I'm very sorry for your loss as well! It can be devastating! It's like losing a member of your family. Scotties have such strong personalities and they are so intelligent. They are also very protective of you and are very devoted to their owner. I still grieve for mine. I miss him so much sometimes, I can hardly stand it! I know exactly how you feel. What a wonderful video of him! Look up "Rainbow Bridge" on here. It''s wonderful.

  • @theold1955 Thank you so much. I will take a look at that. I would love to get another scottie some time soon, but in the mean time, I will cherish the memories I was blessed with . May you be blessed.

  • please feed your Scottie good natural foods, with no fillers or preservatives and by-products found in pet shops. I feed good quality crunchies in the morning and at night Bonnie gets chicken that I cooked with carrots, green beans or broccoli, oatmeal, olive oil - 75 % meat . This is cooked once a month and divided into four containers, freeze 3 of them. Many dogs are dying because of the terrible foods sold in supermarkets.

  • I also had a Scottie for 12 years named Mack. He died of renal failure in 2006. I miss him still today. They are a true friend and I will get another one some day.

  • life is merrier with lots of terriers! it's true because my grandma died last night and i am sad but my westies and scotties make me happy as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I had a ten year-old Scottie die in 2005, and then about a year and a half ago, I found another one just roaming the streets. I never did find his owner, so he has taken the place of the one that I lost. I can't imagine not living without a Scottie doggy! Life is merrier with a Terrier!

  • Wow cant believed he passed away he looks so fit and healthy. Obviously had a very good life and died a very happy boy.

  • Its a real shame such a great dog has to pass away, may he R.I.P

  • I'm very sorry that your wee lad passed away, fireflymichigan. Our Scottie, Katie, died in 2000 from liver cancer. The vet gave her three months - she held on for *18* and lived it to the full until her last week.

Every pedigree dog owner likes to think their breed the best, but Scotties truly possess a character like no other. Along with our Westie, I can't think of a better friend to have grown up with.

  • I love scotties, they are such a good friend. They can be a little unsocial sometimes. But they are full of energy and they really love to chase things and bite into things. My scottie really love massage... :D

  • we lost our beloved 9yr old scottie, very suddenly,(she had tumors in her bladder) in May this year. it just breaks your heart to loose them...such a good and faithful friend.....i'd love to have another :) such a loving video full of memories to keep xx

  • My little girl Annie(scotty of six years) has just been diagnosed with bladder cancer...we are so heartbroken..she has been such a joy to the family...I feel your pain....

  • i know what you are going through, it's so hard and we still miss her a lot............we never thought we could get another dog, but just yeserday, we took arrival of our new scottie puppy, she is so beautiful, and it's great to have a dog again xxx

  • Beautiful video of a lovely dog! - sorry - lovely dogs ... but I only really have eyes for scotties :)

I am sorry he is no longer with you!!! Wish I could take just a little bit of you pain away - it is like loosing a very close friend don´t you think(?)

Gaia (12y scottie girl) and I both send your warmest regards,

    Lisbeth, Denmark

  • i have one moy german passed away so we now have a scotti

  • man i know what you must be going through my German Shepard passed 2 weeks ago

  • What a darling angel. How did he die?!?!? He seems so healthy. My 11 yr old Scottie has soft cell sarcoma cancer but he's as feisty as ever. I'm SO SORRY for your loss. The pain of losing that love is too great to bare.

  • Scottish Terriers are the sweetest friends.

  • what a beautiful dog. Thanks for the video

  • he was a brave scottie ! god bless ....

  • Sorry for the loss.

    What have caused his death?

He appears so young and healthy.

  • Beautiful, beautiful dog and so well groomed and happy. I am sorry for your loss. Keep loving the breed!

  • My sisters scottie just died. He was a great dog... Chester!

  • i cant believe i am crying but i mean it is so sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well at least he lived a good life by the looks of it.

  • I had a scottie named mac as well. He died 3 years ago at the age of 14. How old was yours?

  • this made me cry, i hate it he died, i would gladly give my life for my scottish terrier

  • Our Scottie passed away a few years ago. I feel your pain...:(

  • I'm sorry for your loss... such a Beautiful Dog ...

  • It is heartbreaking to lose our beloved friends and my heart goes out to you. I hope my Scotties Glenplaid and Angus are playing with your Mac and having a ball.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I, too, have a Scottie. what characters they are! It seems to me that Mac had a happy life and was loved. What more can you ask?

  • I am so sorry, and I don't look forward to the day I lose Bogie, also a black Scottie. But he couldn't stand it if I went first. So, it's best that didn't happen to him.

  • Im so sorry for your loss my 6 year old Elizabeth just passed im so sad i bet they are playing together because all dogs go to heaven that brought tears to my eyes

Just think about the good times

  • so sad that he passed :( *tear*

  • beautiful dog & great loss.

  • Wow, Mac looked really nice at 11! Awesome job you guys!

I can only imagine what pain it caused to lose that funny pretty little one...

My little (has-been) boy is called Mac as well. Angus McDawg in full...

I hope he lives to be 90!!!

  • Wow, He was a beautiful scottie

  • Nice tribute, sir. We had to put down my dog last year. She was half Yorkie and half Lasa Apso. Looked mainly like a Yorkie though. She had an all black face except some red-brown around her mouth and face whiskers as well her paws. She looked like a puppy all the way to her death. Losing her is easily one of the worst days of my life. When they're with you for so long, they become part of you.

Sorry to see you had to put down a good friend.

  • My Archibald was active up to the last, too. This movie is so touching! Archie was the never-ending retriever... and was chasing balls the day before he passed. I miss him so much! God bless you and Mac.

  • Cried my eyes out for Mac. My condolences and greatest sympathy for your devastating loss. I have a 10-year-old Scottie and I will probably kill myself when he passes. Yes, he means that much to me.

  • ohhh my eyes are filling, sorry bout ur loss x

  • What a handsome fellow

  • Lovely video. It really hurts when they're gone...

  • i'm so sorry you lost your scottie, i have a scottie and a westie. how did you keep him in such good shape?

  • we also have a scottish terrier named Mac! He barks in the same way as your mac did :)

  • dude that is sad :(. my mom has been raising scottish terriers for 35 years, and we always keep 3-5 dogs. best is that i can see every year like 20 puppies been growing here, and now living all over the world. but i hate to see them die :'(

  • rest in pease mac!

  • We got our first Scottie in 1986, it was really hard to burry him after he passed on. Now we have a 12 year old Scottie

and I don't like seeing him get old.

  • So sorry, he was amazing dog.

  • aww sory

  • What happened? He is so sweety!

  • "We have lost four Scottish Terriers in my life, the last of which passed away five years ago. It's never easy, and I said I'd never go through it again, but here we are with two of these buggers running around the house (actually RUNNING the house). I wouldn't trade the gift of knowing this wonderful breed for anything. "

Knuckles, I know exactly what you mean!

  • We have lost four Scottish Terriers in my life, the last of which passed away five years ago. It's never easy, and I said I'd never go through it again, but here we are with two of these buggers running around the house (actually RUNNING the house). I wouldn't trade the gift of knowing this wonderful breed for anything.

  • Aww.... X'( don't set me off....

I got a 4 year-old Scotty... so I'll pay more attention to him from now on :') 9I play with him alot anyway :))

  • Aw im sorry. I had an amazing beautiful scottie just like you & we had to put him to sleep because he was sick. Scotties are truly the best dogs & part of the family.

  • So so handsome! I'm sorry.

  • :( noo it makes me think about my dog

its my first so i will suffer

  • i feel wrele bad for hem and for your family

its so sad, i think im crieng =(

  • He was a very handsome boy.

  • im getting a scottish terrier soon

i hope i have da same memories u do :)

  • what a precious video.

  • I feel really bad for you :(

  • My Scottie Hallie and I send tons of hugs, wags and licks. Yup! My Scottie hugs! She is my 2nd one ... I know your pain after my 1st Scottie Kelley passed on ... So glad you have Tiger!

  • That's a great video tribute to your little man Mac. When I started to view it and heard the barking, Lord William (a.k.a. "Willie, my Scottie) poppped up from his nap and looked at me as if to say "where's Mac?" - - Our Condolonces.

  • I feel for you. Scotties are incredible. Mine is 10 and I know when his time comes, my heart will be broken. Mac seemed to have loved life and the video is a beautiful tribute.

  • excellent video ,made me cry, I have a scotie girl,. they aare the best, good bless MAC .bye from argentina!

  • How'd he Die ? Old Age ?

  • i hope you had the best of times with Mac. :}

  • Beautiful dog..nice grooming..spitting image of my dog, Dalglish..but better groomed

  • My scottie got knocked down when i was young,it was partly my fault too,ill never forget it...Ive never ever bein so upset in all my life..

  • So sorry about the loss of your dog. I lost one to cancer and others to old age. They never leave your heart. No matter how many dogs you own, each one is special and is never forgotten.

  • I am really sorry for your loss, I have lost two dogs in my life and I still shed a tear every so often for them they never leave your heart and I remember somewhere reading that lobe is never gone even if you think it leaves it finds new ways into your life for me it was getting a new dog and they never replace the old dogs but they create a new adventure! it must have been a shock for your family to lose such a wonderful dog v.v I hope your family will get through it.

  • My sympathies. I understand how you feel. I lost my Scottie, Rhodie, almost two years ago. They sure do leave a hole when they are gone, don't they? God bless.

  • He's beautiful and looks like he was having the time of his life! Obviously a well cared for and happy dog.

    My sympathy.

  • Aw how cute, he looks just like my dog, and his name is Mac too, but he's 1 year old!

  • Don't mind my asking...but how did he die? He look's like he's in good shape!

  • He had hemangiosarcoma. A blood filled tumor. It burst and he bled out internally.

  • Aww....Poor little fella... :(

  • Hey...

My Scottish terrier ''Bosco'' died on christmas eve .... :(

I'm very sorry for you :(

(sorry my english is very bad)

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. He's beautiful.

I lost my wonderful 12 y/o Airedale to hemangiosarcoma last year. I have a 10 y/o Airedale we adopted from rescue last year and an airedale pup last year.

We got a Scotty pup 2 months ago. What a hoot!!! Airedales and Scotties mix well. OO I'm not neutering until after they're a year old due to studies linking early neutering and spaying to hemangiosarcoma. Also lookup immunizations on dogs. they are over immunized weakening their immune system.

  • What a handsome speciman of a Scottie. He really enjoyed his life right up to the last day. I, too, had a Scottie, Lady, and I had to say goodbye to her on Sept. 10,2003. She was just as playful and really enjoyed chasing about with the neighbors two dogs or streaking across the back yard in hot pursuit of a squirrel. Life definitely is not the same without her.

  • i have a westie and i am thinking on getting a scottie

  • how did he die?

  • hemangiosarcoma

  • I am sorry to hear of his passing. This is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful dog. I lost my Scottie in October and I have no doubt that they're tearing about at the Rainbow Bridge.

  • I'm sorry for your loss...

  • sorry to hear of your loss ..such a Beautiful Dog ...

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I have a Jack Russel that will be 13 on Nov, 27, and is just as active. We also have 2 scottish terriers, a male and female. Terriers are the best dogs.

  • i'm really sorry for your loss. he seems such a sweetheart. this is actually the first time i've seen a 12-year-old dog very active. you've raised him well. i'm sure he's at rainbow bridge waiting for you.

  • We feel for you for your loss. Mac looks like he was a great dog. We're sure you miss him a great deal. We lost our wonderful Scottish terrier, Mac, on October 31, 2004. His lifelong friend, Abby, now has two young Scotties to play with, Buddy and Petey. Scotties make the most wonderful pets and friends.

  • Iam so sorry for your loss, I have a friend that has a scottie her name is bella,i love watch her run .they are the best dog.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a very handsome boy!!

  • This is such a nice little memory of your dog. I've got a Yorkshire terrier who I've had since I was 7, and he's pushing 15 now. I don't know what I'll do to prepare myself for when he passes away, but this has certainly inspired me to make my own videos of him before he's gone. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • My wife and I have a year old named Gramps. We have had Amos, Robbie, and Mac. And a mutt named Ashley. I don't think I will ever not grieve for the ones who walk in the spirit world but Gramps is the light of my life for the time he will be with us.

These wonderful critters are simply the best things that can happen to us lowly humans.

I am sad for your loss, Mac looked like a fine fellow.

  • I got a little teary-eyed from this.. :\

  • oy, me too. =(

  • me three

  • i feel sorry for you, when my scotty passed, i never got another dog because i dont want it to die but my Buttons is in a better place now

  • This is a beautiful dog. I am Scottish and have always been fascinated in having a Scottish Terrier someday. They are so playful and fun to have. Sorry about the loss of your dog. I'm also in Michigan on the East side.

  • Why the life is so sad without a scottish terrier?
