Howzit, the Porsche 911 Turbo is the best car ever made. I have the 996 Turbo here in South Africa, and I can tell you it is the best buy I've ever made. It is extremely reliable (only had a linkage on the gearbox break in 3 years- $100), I've never lost a race on the open road and it has 4 seats so the children can also come along for a drive. Which model are you looking at? I am waiting for the all new 998. But don't get a tiptronic, get manual or PDK. Check out my vids
Tell John Cooper that the Mini Cooper S MK I was not a spots car. Yes it was FFD, yes it was an econo box. Yet it went on to win the Monte Carlo Rally where it placed first in 1964, 1965 and again in 1967. It also came in first second and third in the 1966 rally, but the French disqualified it for it's head lights. While the standard Mini is NOT a sports car the Cooper S SURELY was. The Colbalt SS, (SS as in Super Sport), Turbo held the FFD record on the Nurburgring, it is not a normal Cobalt.

boasting about nurburgring lap times is a completely pointless exercise. your cobalt is faster than the exige round the 'ring. that means 1 thing, its faster than the exige round the 'ring.
on a day to day basis this is completely irrelevant.
the exige is one of the best handling road cars in the world. can you really argue that your overweight bit of american tat can even compete?
the Nurburgring wasn't the only place where the Cobalt SS Turbo showed that it could be faster around a track. i think it was at VIR during One Lap of America where it posted a better time than the Exige S. last year is when it happened if i remember correctly. i can't remember if it was One Lap of America or some single event held at VIR. but i remember the list showing the Cobalt SS Turbo well ahead of Exige S in the results.
they were verified. they both wouldn't of held the "FWD record" if they weren't verified. does that not compute into you tiny little brain?
and it doesn't matter if the Nurburgring is not the same as every other track. its the deciding factor into whether a car can handle or not. it puts every car through hell in 1 complete lap, whereas other tracks wouldn't be able to do what that track does to a car in that 1 lap.

the Cobalt SS Turbo's time has been up there for a year and a half while the Megane's has been up there for the better part of a year. if they were unofficial and haven't been verified by now, they would of been removed. a week after Chevy claimed of doing a 7.22 run around the track with the new ZR-1, the time was removed because the car was running on slicks.

Toyota needs to quit fooling around and bring out new supras and celias. But the new AE86 is a good start but the should change the design more to keep from look like a pruis and make a coupe instead of a hatchback. There are way to many hatchbacks coming out and im tired of seeing them.
I'm not really excited about porsche's facelifts but I really appreciate their new facelift on the 911. That more slant headlights make it look better.
The close thing to a new supra would be the lexus LF as for now.

i personally love the 911 hope you get it its pretty fast considering that it does 0-60 around 3.7 seconds but most people that i talk to hate porsche claiming that it looks like an over powered bug

Howzit, the Porsche 911 Turbo is the best car ever made. I have the 996 Turbo here in South Africa, and I can tell you it is the best buy I've ever made. It is extremely reliable (only had a linkage on the gearbox break in 3 years- $100), I've never lost a race on the open road and it has 4 seats so the children can also come along for a drive. Which model are you looking at? I am waiting for the all new 998. But don't get a tiptronic, get manual or PDK. Check out my vids

Tell John Cooper that the Mini Cooper S MK I was not a spots car. Yes it was FFD, yes it was an econo box. Yet it went on to win the Monte Carlo Rally where it placed first in 1964, 1965 and again in 1967. It also came in first second and third in the 1966 rally, but the French disqualified it for it's head lights. While the standard Mini is NOT a sports car the Cooper S SURELY was. The Colbalt SS, (SS as in Super Sport), Turbo held the FFD record on the Nurburgring, it is not a normal Cobalt.

boasting about nurburgring lap times is a completely pointless exercise. your cobalt is faster than the exige round the 'ring. that means 1 thing, its faster than the exige round the 'ring.
on a day to day basis this is completely irrelevant.
the exige is one of the best handling road cars in the world. can you really argue that your overweight bit of american tat can even compete?

wait, i forgot to bring this up also....
the Nurburgring wasn't the only place where the Cobalt SS Turbo showed that it could be faster around a track. i think it was at VIR during One Lap of America where it posted a better time than the Exige S. last year is when it happened if i remember correctly. i can't remember if it was One Lap of America or some single event held at VIR. but i remember the list showing the Cobalt SS Turbo well ahead of Exige S in the results.

they were verified. they both wouldn't of held the "FWD record" if they weren't verified. does that not compute into you tiny little brain?
and it doesn't matter if the Nurburgring is not the same as every other track. its the deciding factor into whether a car can handle or not. it puts every car through hell in 1 complete lap, whereas other tracks wouldn't be able to do what that track does to a car in that 1 lap.

first off, the E46 was known for its handling, acceleration, and power. that's why its one of the most sought after cars in the market. also, the Nurburgring is BMW's hometrack.
and how is the Lotus Exige S not designed for the Nurburgring? its a race car built for the road for fuck sake. its one of the best handling cars in the world.
oh and yes, BOTH of those times are official. there's videos on both and both have been verified by the Nurburgring.

the Cobalt SS Turbo's time has been up there for a year and a half while the Megane's has been up there for the better part of a year. if they were unofficial and haven't been verified by now, they would of been removed. a week after Chevy claimed of doing a 7.22 run around the track with the new ZR-1, the time was removed because the car was running on slicks.

you can't be serious. because if you are, you're about as ignorant as a 17 year old.
obviously you've never driven a Civic Si, Golf GTi, Mini Cooper S, or Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged to realize that they ALL have a sporty feel to them. the Golf, Coop, and 'Balt are ALL known very well for their incredible handling for their class.
i like how you added into another false factor into whether a car should be categorized as a sports car. it being FWD doesn't matter.

if FWD mattered, then you might as well remove both the Renault Megane RS R26.R and Chevy Cobalt SS Turbo from the production car list on the Nurburgring since they both beat out high performance RWD cars (Lotus Exige S and BMW E46 M3).

Toyota needs to quit fooling around and bring out new supras and celias. But the new AE86 is a good start but the should change the design more to keep from look like a pruis and make a coupe instead of a hatchback. There are way to many hatchbacks coming out and im tired of seeing them.

I'm not really excited about porsche's facelifts but I really appreciate their new facelift on the 911. That more slant headlights make it look better.
The close thing to a new supra would be the lexus LF as for now.
